ST. JOHN, Elsie Florence

Peacefully, on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at her home in Ajax, at age 73.

Elsie (nee Underwood), beloved wife of Neil St. John. Loving mother of Pat and her husband Greg James of Ajax and Heather and her husband Stacy Hart of Port Perry. Loving grandmother of Kevin (Corrine), Catherine (Joe), Christine, Jacqueline and Christopher. Survived by her brother Bob Underwood of Cannington.

A private service to celebrate the life of Elsie St. John was held at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985 2171) on Tuesday, February 9th at 2 p.m. with Reverend Dr. John Sullivan officiating.

If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Canadian Cancer Society.

BERRY, John D.

Suddenly, at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Friday, February 05, 2010 in his 52nd year, following a lengthy battle with diabetes.

John, beloved husband of Connie Berry. Loved son of Roy Berry and his late wife Mary of Orono. Dear brother of Dawn Berry Merriam and her husband John Merriam of Peterborough.

Friends may pay their respects at the MORRIS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4 Division St., Bowmanville on Monday, February 8, 2010 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral service in the MORRIS CHAPEL on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 11 a.m. Spring interment Bethesda Cemetery.

Donations in John’s memory to the Diabetes Association or Memorial Hospital Foundation Bowmanville, Cardiac Care would be gratefully appreciated.

BILINSKI, Mary

After a courageous fight, Mary, in her 87th year, has gone to a better place, on Friday, February 5th 2010.

Beloved wife of the late Albert. Cherished mother to Carol (Bill Zakarow), Rick (Cathy), Rob (Beth). Devoted grandmother to Andrea Bilinski, Mark Johnston, Brian Johnston (Michelle), and Shannon Wiatrzyk. Loving great-grandmother to Courtney and Makayla Johnston. Dear sister to Sonja Logan, pre-deceased by sisters Stella Diachuk, Josephine Morra. Missed by dearest friend Tom McNeill.

Friends may call at MOUNT LAWN RECEPTION CENTRE, 21 Garrard Rd. Whitby 905-443-3376 on Wednesday February 10th, 2010 from 1 p.m. followed by service at 3 p.m. According to Mary's wishes Cremation has taken place.

Vibrant and loving, if you met Mary you knew before you left you would get a hug.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oshawa Hospital Foundation (R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Center ) or charity of your choice.

Special thanks to the staff of unit one Strathaven Lifecare Centre. Will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Peacefully at home on Friday February 5th, 2010, her Lord took into His Eternal Home.

Beloved wife of John. Loving mother of Teresa & Rob Engelage, Rene & Sandra Heeringa, Linda & Barry Clabertt & Ken & Sandi Heeringa. Cherished Beppe of Andrew, Aaron, Alexandria, Owen, Joshua, Taylor, Carissa, Jenn, Chris (Holly) and great-beppe of Emma. Dear sister of Grace (Mel) van der Wal, Tetje (Harm) Prins, Sjoukje (Berend†) Spek, Jerry (Grace) Talsma, Anne (Tiemen) Korvermaker, Sarah (Shannon) Riley, Harm (Carol) Talsma, Helen (Fred) Westerman, Mary (Bill) Berentschot, Gladys (John) van der Heyden. Dear daughter-in-law of Ray & Alma Heeringa and sister-in-law of Dorothy (Sid) Wybenga, Renee (Brian) Gamble & Marilyn (Honas) Brinkman. She will be lovingly remembered by her cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be held at THE NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division Street North, Bowmanville on Sunday, February 7, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.

A Memorial Service will be held at Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church, 130 Scugog Rd., Bowmanville on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 11 am. Private interment.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to The Cancer Society.

KIRK, James Stewart (“Jimmy”)
1941 – 2010

Jimmy passed away peacefully on Friday, February 5th, 2010 at Reachview Village (Versa Care), Uxbridge at the age of 68.

Jimmy will be greatly missed by his friends and nursing staff at Reach View Village, who were so good and kind to Jimmy over the past four years and he will truly be missed by his good friend Rhonda VanderLinde and her family.

Jimmy was predeceased by his father, Jim and mother, Isa and his sister June. Jimmy will be missed by his brother Arthur (Susan) and three nieces in Calgary and will be dearly missed by his former wife Joan (nee Rowland) and his two sons Robb and James (Sara) and his three grandchildren, James, Ainsley and Delaney, also many cousins and relatives in Oshawa and Scotland.

Since there will be no funeral service at Jimmy’s request, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Jimmy’s memory be made to Reach View Village at 130 Reach Street, Uxbridge, ON, or a Charity of your choice.

LEACH, Rita Mary (nee Maguire)

Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on Friday, February 5, 2010 in her 78th year.

Beloved wife of Doug. Cherished mother to Gail (Anthony VanderHolst), Anne (Greg Pilon), Doug (Mary Ann) and Michael. Adored granny to Stephen, Patrick, Jacqueline, Lindsay, Allison, James, Emma and Jessica. Rita will be missed by her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends.

Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Sunday February 7th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Gertrude’s Roman Catholic Church (690 King Street East) on Monday February 8th at 10 a.m.

Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Whitby. Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Lakeridge Health Oshawa Palliative Care would be appreciated.

PINKNEY, James David
(Formerly of IBM)

Dave passed away peacefully after a brief illness and a brave battle with cancer in his 79th year, on Friday, February 5, 2010 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry.

Beloved husband of Carol, Dave was surrounded by family and friends at his passing.

The family of Dave Pinkney will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985 2171) on Saturday, February 20th from 12 – 1 p.m. A Service to celebrate his life will be held in the Chapel at 1 p.m. with Reverend Simon Bell officiating.

If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Port Perry Hospital Foundation.

BRADLEY, Hilda Leona (nee Hopkins)

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Port Perry Hospital in her 93rd year.

Predeceased by her husband Lloyd, sister Julia, brother Clifford and dear friend Ross McClement. Leaving to mourn, nieces and nephew, Linda (David) O’Connor, Brenda (Jack) Levesque, Larry (Susan, deceased) Hopkins, Sandra (Tony) Filice and sister-in-law Kathleen “Dolly” Hopkins. Also remembered by dear friends Grant and Gerry McClement, Linda Dadswell and Mary and Robin Jeffery and 14 great nieces and nephews and 19 great-great nieces and nephews. She is sleeping with Jesus.

Family and friends may call at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Sunday, February 7, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A service celebrating Hilda’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery.

Donations in Hilda’s memory to the Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated by the family.

CHURCHILL, Anne June

Peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the Marnwood Lifecare Centre in Bowmanville, at age 90.

Anne (nee Dymond), beloved wife of the late James Mathew Churchill of Blackstock. Loving mother of Doris, Pat, Gwen, Bill, Judy and Gordie. Anne will be fondly remembered by her 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Rested at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171). A graveside service was held on Monday, February 8th at the Riverside Cemetery, in Lindsay at 2 p.m. with Michelle Hofman officiating.

If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Canadian Cancer Society.

COLLINS, Wallace Francis

Passed away at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg on Thursday, February 4, 2010.

Wallace, beloved husband of the late Florence Simmonds. Loving father of Rosalind, Wallace, David and Gordon Collins, Cynthia Saullo, Carol Justice and Ruby McDavid. Brother of Patsy Rewoldt, Nelson Collins, Jackie Curtis and Shirley Chaulk. Remembered by his friend Silas Slade. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. Predeceased by granddaughter Sarah Collins and brother Fred Harris.

Friends will be received at the ALLISON FUNERAL HOME, 103 Mill Street North, Port Hope on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service Monday, 1 p.m. Following cremation, interment Port Hope Union Cemetery.
