GIROUX, Jean-Guy passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2000 at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Therese Besner and son of the late Philias Giroux and the late Ubaldine Marleau. Loving father of Marc (Nancy Verdon), Guy (Lucie Martin), Louis (Claire Paris), Helene, Claude (Celine Gagnon), Danielle (Michel Lanctot) and Martyne (Andre Buss). Grandfather of Amanda, Patrick, Melanie, Marc Andre, Michel, Emily and Marie-Claude. Predeceased by three brothers Jacques, Paul and Charles. Also survived by five sisters Estelle (Leo Deneault), Fabiola Dubois, Jacqueline Barrette, Agathe Gagnon and Claire (Alex Verdon) and two brothers Armand and Marc-Yvain (Anne Audet). He worked for many years at the University of Ottawa as a Professor in the Department of English and as a member of the Support Staff at the Second Language Institute. A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 591 Cumberland, on March 2, 2000 at 12 noon. Donations to be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements in care of the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry.

GRAVELLE, Gus (Gustave) Peacefully in Ottawa, February 23, 2000 in his 81st year. Son of the late Alexina Cardinal and Edward Gravelle. Widower of the deeply missed Agnes Garneau who passed away on November 5, 1975. Predeceased by his brothers Lucien, Aurele, Urbain, Niel, Octave and Aime and by his sisters Edna and Lawrencia. Special thoughts to his sister Lillian (Alcide Faubert) of South Gloucester. Father of Norman (Madeleine Seguin), Limoges; Paulette (Claude) Lemieux, Embrun; Louise (Fernand) Martel, Greely; Ron, Ottawa; Linda Dubeau, Ottawa and Luanne (Barry) Lank, Winnipeg. Grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Uncle, cousin and friend of many. A special heartfelt thank-you to Michel Pauze for all you have done. A sincere thank-you to the Glebe Center, especially Bronson Place 2nd floor, for all your tenderness, support and excellent care. LEO, Byron Peacefully in hospital, Sunday, February 27, 2000, in his 74th year. Predeceased by his wife Stella. Byron is survived by his children, Willadean (Czech Republic), Michael (Toronto), Signe (Joe), Aileen (Ottawa) and two granddaughers Kayla and Erin. Dad worked for many years with the government in the Justice Department. He loved the law and was a perfectionist in his work. He enjoyed classical music, particularly Beethoven, Sibelius and Mozart. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Cremation. Interment Selkirk, Manitoba. A Service in Memory of Byron will be held at a later date. The family requests in memoriam donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
