SHEFFIELD, Francis Norman passed away peacefully at home on May 19, 2000 in Tsawwassen B.C. at the age of 79. Frank is predeceased by his only brother John and in 1974 by his first wife Merry Ruth (Price). He is survived by his loving wife Mary (Derewecka), his son Jeff of Niagara Falls, Ontario, daughter Julie of Ottawa, Ontario and granddaughters Cari Beth and Andrea, first cousin Ernest and Joan Copeland, mother-in-law Anna Derewecka, sister-in-law Stefanie, (Mike) Castelino and their daughter Tanya. Frank will truly be missed by his many friends. Born in Midland, Ontario, Frank fostered fond memories of his teenage years in New Liskeard, Ontario. He entered service in W.W.II as a navigator assigned to R.A.F. Costal Command and the South African Air Force in West Africa. He continued his career in the R.C.A.F. serving in Canada, Tanzania and Europe (N.A.T.0). Retiring as a Colonel (C.A.F.) at the end of a successful and satisfying 35 year career, Frank and Mary settled in Ottawa for several years before moving to Tsawwassen, B.C. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to your local Heart & Stroke Foundation, Kidney Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. Frank will be laid to rest at Lakeview cemetery in Midland, Ontario with a Memorial Service in the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on June 17, 2000 at 2 p.m., telephone, (613) 233-1143.
