MacINTOSH, Orpha Mae Orpha Mae Barry was born on March 7, 1921, the eldest daughter of Carrie Payne (Matilda Township) and Webster Barry (Merrickville, Ontario). On February 27, 1941 she married Cecil Lloyd Thompson at Smiths Falls, Ontario. The couple had two children Wayne and Lyle. Cecil predeceased her (January 14, 1921 - July 24, 1962). From this union, surviving are children Wayne (Anne), Lyle (Geri); grandchildren Barry (Jean) Thompson, Stephen (Phillipa) Thompson, Cathy Chester, Tom (Kim) Chester; great-grandchildren Nicklaus and Jamieson Thompson, Lila and Kale Desjardine. Also left to mourn is her sister Laura Colquhoun as well as her sisters-in-law/brothers-in-law Mervyn Thompson, Vera and Roy Barber, Wilena "Toots" Thompson and their families. Orpha Thompson married Kenneth Keith MacIntosh on April 21, 1967 in Carleton Place, Ontario. Keith had two daughters from his previous marriage Debbie and Cindy. Keith succumbed to cancer on January 17, 1993 (April 30, 1929 - January 17, 1993). Left to mourn are children Debbie (Ted) Letts, Cindy (John) Loftus; grandchildren Jennifer (Joe) De Vuono, Jason Letts, Sarah and Johnna Loftus. Also survived by sisters-in-law/brothers-in-law Jessie Carson, Jean Hobbs, Ann MacIntosh and Don and Ileen MacIntosh, Carl and Joan MacIntosh and their families. Friends may call at the ALAN R. BARKER FUNERAL HOME 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Venerable Gordon Worden officiating. Interment St. James Anglican cemetery , Carleton Place. Donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

JOHNSTON, Arthur Hay "Paddy" September 11, 2000, in hospital, following a lengthy illness. Remembered lovingly by all his family. Paddy is survived by his wife, Olga, daughter, Anne and her husband, David G. Coyle, son, Brian (Australia); 6 grandchildren, Nicola, John, Jason and Matthew Coyle, Jonathan and Nicholas Johnston, and by 2 nieces and 1 nephew in the United States. Pre-deceased by daughter-in-law, Leigh. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, in the Chapel at The Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre (Ottawa Building), 1750 Russell Road, Ottawa. If desired, donations to The Anglican Social Services Centre 454, The Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre or a charity of your choice.

Loving mother of Dr. Hal Kingston D.C. (Susan), Barbara Regel (Steve), and Marlene Taylor (Warren). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Candice and Brent Regel, Patricia, Victoria, Warren Jr. and Kira Taylor. Dear sister of Phyllis Pettigrew (Lloyd) of Halifax, NS, Patricia Maher (Robert), Peggy Branch (Murray) and John Taylor (Vina), all of Bathurst, NB. Fondly remembered by nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Louise Coulombe and the staff at the Palliative Care Unit of the Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre. MUNDEN, Lily Mabel (Ross) It is with heartfelt sadness that the Mundens (Ottawa) and the Francis Ross (Otterburn Park) families announce the loss of Lily Mabel Ross Munden on October 10, 2000 at the age of 91. Wife of the late Tom Munden. Loving mother of Earl (Madeleine) and Donna (Lee Ogden). Special grandmother of Anne (Nelson Labelle) and Michel. Great-grandmother of Darcy. Sister-in-law, aunt and great aunt. The families thank the staff at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus for their devotion and compassion. Special thanks to those on the 6th and 7th floors and the emergency department. Family and friends may visit the Demers Funeral Salon in Beloeil on Saturday, October 14 between 1 to 3 p.m. A memorial service in celebration of Lily's life will be held at the Salon. MURRAY, James Keith "A Consummate Gentleman" On Saturday, October 7, 2000, James Keith Murray, was united with his love of a lifetime, Jane. Passed peacefully after living 3 1/2 years under the watchful care of the "Angels" at Bradford House, Floor 2, Island Lodge. Jim was predeceased by his brother George and sister Christine Ault (George). Jim's example of Christian love touched all who knew him. He is survived by his loving family, brother Charles (Barbara), sister-in-law Theo and many caring nieces and nephews. "It is from our parents that we first learn how to love and give love in return". Jim's kindness, compassion, generosity of spirit and unconditional love are cherished by his daughter Janet Banigan (John), (daughter Janemary) and son Scott (sons James, Jared, John). A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church (Kent at Wellington) on Sunday, October 22, 2000 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice, St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church or to Island Lodge, would be appreciated. Shorter; Bill Shorter (Tina) all of Deep River. Beloved grandad of Chris and Lisa Erven; Katie and Liz Shorter. Gord was a graduate of U of T, Mechanical Engineering; R.C.N. 1941 to 1945; he was the first Head of the Fire Research Section, N.R.C.; he was awarded the Ingberg Award by the American Society for Testing and Materials; Life member of the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs; Member of Rideau and Rockcliffe Tennis Clubs and a charter member of the Granite Curling Club of West Ottawa. Friends may attend a funeral service on Wednesday, May 3rd at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Tubman Funeral Homes, Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore and Baseline Road). A private family burial will take place on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation may do so to the Junior Curling Program, Granite Curling Club, 2026 Scott Street, Ottawa, K1Z 6T1 or the North Renfrew Long Term Care Service Inc., P.O.
