PERRY, James Edward.,BA, MA. passed away peacefully at the Leacock Care Centre, Orillia, Ontario, on Wednesday May 15, 2002; in his 91st year. Beloved husband for 68 years of Evelyn (Watt). Predeceased by his eldest daughter, Marilyn (Rod Fowler) of Smith Falls. Devoted father of Maureen (Clifton Scott) of Orillia and Prudence (Guy Lafreniere) of Temagami. Loving grandfather Linda, Michael, James, Andrew, Deborah and Karen. Fondley remembered by great grandchildren to Ricky, Brooke, Adam, Sarah, Matthew, Mariah and Philippe. His unconditional love, sense of fair play and wit will live with us forever. Born in Port Maitland, Nova Scotia. Edward Perry was the son of the late Alvin and Calla Perry (nee Trafton) and is survived by his only sister, Dorothy Cowley, of Shawville, Quebec. His career as an educator in the provinces of Nova Scotia and Quebec spanned 41 years. Funeral service will take place in the chapel of the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia, on Saturday morning, May 18, at 11 o'clock, followed by interment at St. Andrew's - St. James' cemetery , Orillia, Ontario. POWELL; WILLIAM BADEN - ( B.A. B. Ed) After the blessing of a Georgian Bay sunset and a peaceful night at the cottage with his family, Bill passed away quietly at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital early in the morning of July 26th, 2002, in his 64th year. Celebrating his kind, loving and selfless presence in their lives are his beloved wife Sharon (Miller), his son, Andre, his daughters Simona and Kristiana, the children's mother, AnneMarie (predeceased), grandson Callum, brother Mike, and his many dear friends and relatives who will miss Bill's loving and generous spirit. Bill is the son of Harvey and Gwen Powell (both predeceased) and dear brother-in-law of Marlene and Walt Bulas, Paul and Barb Miller, Murray and Lyn Miller, Patricia and Butch Roach, and loved son-in-law of Ruth Miller, all of Orillia. His many nieces and nephews will remember him always with love. Bill was also loved by AnneMarie's family, Gisela, Chad, and Reinhardt Deetken. Bill grew up in Toronto and attended Queen's University in Kingston. He came to Orillia in the early 1970's to teach at O.D.C.V.I., retiring after a splendid 33-year career. He continued his interest in and devotion to his students through many hours of tutoring in mathematics. Bill's heroic struggle and steadfastly positive attitude during his disease inspired all who knew him. Students, friends, family, and colleagues are invited to a Celebration of Bill's Life, followed by a reception, at St. Paul's United Church (northeast corner of Coldwater and Peter Streets, Orillia), on Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at 11 AM. Visitation will be at Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. Orillia, on Sunday and Monday evenings from 7 to 9. The family offers special thanks to the Oncology Department of Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital.
