FOSTER - At the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, August 9, 2000. Norma Jean (Light) Foster of South Dorchester Twp. in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of 57 years to Donald H. Foster. Loving mother to Wayne Foster and wife Maureen of Aylmer, Ian Foster and wife Connie of R.R.#4, Aylmer, Doreen MacIntyre and husband Jim of R.R.#1, Belmont, Diane Allen and husband Ken of Lyons and Donald G. Foster and wife Sue of Vancouver, B.C. Dear sister to Jack Light and wife Eva of Woodstock and Raymond Light and wife Marjorie of R.R.#4, Aylmer. Daughter-in-law to Vera Foster of Aylmer. Sister-in-law to Pauline Roberts of Aylmer, Ruth Nelson and husband Bill of Aylmer and Katherine Howe and husband Mac of Kingston. She will be sadly missed by 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Ronald, Donald and Graydon Light and sisters Mildred Light and Doris Vidamour. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Friday 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2000 at 11:30 a.m. Interment , Aylmer cemetery. Rev. Richard Myer, officiating assisted by Rev. Sam Findlay. Donations to the Church of Christ Disciples, Mapleton, the St. Paul's United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

HEARD - A graveside inurnment service for the late Audry Marcella Heard (nee Hansel) will be held on Tuesday, August 15, at 10:30 a.m. at the Elmdale Memorial Park cemetery ,190 Wilson Avenue, St. Thomas, with Rev. S. Thomas officiating. The family welcomes all who knew Audry to this service. Sherwood Park Funeral Home, 265 Fir Street, Sherwood Park, Alberta. Phone: (780)464-2226.

JONES - A Memorial Service for Robert Alexander Jones will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2000 at the Fingal Presbyterian Church, Fingal at 2:00 p.m.

LAUR - Suddenly as a result of drowning at Port Stanley, Ontario on Wednesday, August 9, 2000. David Keith Laur of St. Thomas, in his 39th year. Born in Aylmer, April 13, 1962. Dear son of Keith and Diana Laur of R.R.#7 Tillsonburg, loving brother of Kathy and her husband John Gratton of London, dear grandson of Rita Toll of London. Also survived by 2 nieces, Nicole and Cari, and several uncles and aunts. At the request of the family there will be no visitation. Cremation will take place. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 14, 2000 at Glen Meyer Baptist Church, Langton, at 7:30 p.m., and will be conducted by Rev. Keith Sutherland. Donations will be accepted to Camp Trillium/Rainbow Lake in David's Memory. Verhoeve Funeral Home, 40 Queen Street Lamgton in charge of arrangements. (519-875-4464).

LUFT - Edward Henry of St. Thomas, on Friday, August 11, 2000, at the Elgin Manor, in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Irene Louise (Forler) Luft and dear father of John Luft of St. Thomas and David Luft of Lakeland, Florida. Loved grandfather of Joanna Luft, Dianna Luft, Karen Luft and and Kelly Luft Moir and her husband Sandy and great grandfather of Jesse. He was the last of his family. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. Interment Elmdale cemetery. Visitation Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

MERVIS - After a 13 year struggle with cancer at his residence on Thursday, August 10, 2000. Thomas Richard Mervis of R.R.#2, Aylmer in his 43rd year. Born in St. Thomas on January 20, 1958, beloved son of Henry and Germaine (Van Hende) Mervis of R.R.#2, Aylmer. Dear brother of Linda DeMunck and husband Gabe of Burford and Ron Mervis and wife Lisa of R.R.#2, Aylmer. Loving uncle to Jason, Sandra and Christine DeMunck. He will be sadly missed by his uncle Cy Mervis of Aylmer and his aunt Mary Palmer and husband Maurice of Vienna. Tom was a lifelong resident of R.R.#2, Aylmer, was an avid sports fan and played slo-pitch for many years. He worked on the family farm, Imperial Leaf Tobacco and 3M for 15 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church and a 3rd degree Knight with Knights of Columbus. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be held on Friday at 8:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church on Saturday, August 12, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. Interment , Queen of Peace cemetery. Donations to Neuro-Oncology Research Fund (London Regional Cancer Centre, 790 Commissioners Rd. East, London N6A 4L6) would be greatly appreciated.

ROGERS - At the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Monday, July 31, 2000, Allison Louise Rogers of Port Stanley in her 56th year. Beloved wife of John K. Rogers and dearly loved mother of John Bruce Rogers, Port Stanley and Tina and her husband Tony Cirillo, Niagara Falls. Dear sister of Stuart, Bruce and Dorion, Quebec and loved grandmother of Tony Jr. and Christopher Cirillo. Dear daughter-in-law of Florence Hickey, Kensington, Prince Edward Island and sister-in-law of Mary and her husband Glen Beaton, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; Barbara and her husband Glen McKay, French River; Mary Rogers , Darnley; Ellsworth and his wife Pauline Rogers, Hamilton and Elizabeth and her husband Arnold Hickey, Alberta. Predeceased by a brother-in-law Carl Rogers. A Public Memorial Service will be held at Christ Church (Anglican), Port Stanley on Saturday, August 12th at 2:00 p.m. Interment of ashes in Christ Church cemetery. WAGNER - At London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Campus, South St., on Wednesday, August 9, 2000. Douglas C. Wagner of St. Thomas, in his 78th year. Husband of the lateMrs. Betty (Irons-Carter) Wagner (Mar. 16, 1990). Father of Mrs. Patricia Moran and her husband Sam of Stoney Creek, Wesley Wagner and his wife June Crawford and James Wagner and his wife Kelly, all of Hamilton. Grandfather of Sean Moran and his wife Heather of Stoney Creek, Chelsey and Stacey Wagner, both of Hamilton. Brother of Mrs. Jean Jenk and her husband Marvin of Michigan, Mrs. Elsie Ming of Montana and Mrs. Alice Stafford ofSt. Thomas. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Following cremation, interment in Shedden cemetery. Memorial donations to the charity of one's choice gratefully acknowledged.

BENNETT - It is with much sadness and heartache that we announce the passing of Thomas Edward Bennett of Belmont at 46 years of age. Beloved husband of Dawn (Parry)Bennett and loving father of Tony and his wife Cheryl and Ron and his friend Anna all of Belmont. Wonderful grandfather of Gage and Allaura. Predeceased by his mother Edith (February 12, 1995 and his father George (February 12, 1971). Tom will be fondly remembered by his many friends and neighbours and by the entire Parry family. Friends will be received at the Bieman Funeral Home, 3970 Hamilton Road, Dorchester (Sunday 2-4and 7-9 p.m.) The funeral service will be conducted at the Knox Presbyterian Church, Belmont on Monday, August 14 at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Gloria Langlois officiating.
