Born in Witmarsum, The Netherlands on October 13, 1937 son of Mrs. Catherina (Anema) Dykstra of Strathroy and the late John Dykstra. Beloved husband of Margaret (Howey) Dykstra. Dear father to David Dykstra and wife Teresa of RR#3 Tillsonburg and Deborah Thomas and husband Ken of Rogers Rd., Aylmer. Loving grandfather of Samantha and Elizabeth Dykstra and Kurtis and Aaron Thomas. He will be sadly missed by brothers Bill and friend Dickie of Bayfield, Cecil and wife Joan of RR#1 Aylmer, and Shel and wife Charmain of Innerkip, Tony of London and Peter and wife Elsie of Goderich; sisters Pat Buren and husband Lawrence of Strathroy, Dorothy Reymer and husband Eef of Lucan, Anne Rovers and husband Bert of London, Marie White and husband Walter of Ingersoll, Agnes Lansink and husband Herman of RR#2 Denfield and a number of nieces and nephews. Durk came to Canada in 1953, lived at RR#8 St. Thomas for 37 years and was a Machine operator with Nielson Dairy. He was a member of St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Columbus Club. Friends may call at the H.A. TURNER - Jo-Anne of Erieau passed away suddenly on Saturday August 12, 2000 at her late residence. Born in Erieau 54 years ago daughter of the late Joseph McCarthy and Mary Bruley. She is survived by her husband David (Larry) Turner and her children Wayne and his wife Vicky Currie of Port Stanley; Kim and her husband Brent James of Lyons; Tricia and husband Nick Doyle of Erieau. Memaw to Chad and Mallory Currie; Elisha, Misty and Wesley James; Taylor, Kennedy, Tawnya and Nicole Doyle. Sister Nancy and husband Cam Fulkerson of Erieau. Predeceased by granddaughter Mackenzie Doyle (1995), sister Betty Campbell (1995) and husband George Currie. Also survived by nieces and nephews, special friends Doris and Ellwood Harrogate. Beloved wife of the late Leo James Brown and dearly loved mother of Michael Brown of London, May Veronica and her husband Len Parkins of St. Thomas, Kathryn Denise Brown of London, Christopher Brown of St. Thomas, Tracey Anne Palmer of London and the late James Brown. Dear sister-in-law of Barbara Burrell of Buffalo. Loved grandmother of Michelle, Mark, Stephen, Tim, Katie, Jennifer, Kayleigh and Jessica. Sadly missed by 6 great grandchildren. A private service was held at St. Anne's Church on Tuesday morning. Cremation, with ashes to be interred in Holy Angels' cemetery. Van Meekeren - Racheal Elisabeth - was taken home to be with her Heavenly father, on Sunday, August 13, 2000, after a courageous battle with cancer (Zephaniah 3:17). Precious daughter of Steven and Grace (Van Willegen), dear sister of Jeremey and Kevin and his fiancee Lori and special aunt to Zachary. Predeceased by her Opa Van Willegen (1997) and Grandpa Van Meekeren (1999). Special grand daughter of Betty Van Meekeren of St, Thomas. She will be sadly missed by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Racheal attended London District Christian Secondary School and was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in St. Thomas. WAGNER - The funeral of Douglas C. Wagner of St. Thomas, husband of the late Mrs. Betty (Irons-Carter) Wagner (Mar. 16, 1990) was held on Saturday afternoon from the Sifton Funeral Home, Wellington St., St. Thomas. Mr. Wagner, a retired grader operator with Dufferin Construction, Oakville, Ontario, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2000, in his 78th year. Rev. Dr. Andrew Human, minister of Knox Presbyterian Church officiated and Ms. Lynn Ostrosser presided at the organ. Following cremation, private interment is to be made in Shedden cemetery. In attendance at the funeral service were relatives and friends from Michigan, Stoney Creek, Hamilton, Burlington, Watford, Chatham, London, St. Thomas and the surrounding area.
