Bill was employed at Esso Sarnia for 40 years. He was also the proud owner of Rich’s Trophies for 30 years. Great grandmother of Sarah and Jillian Stickland. She is also survived by brothers Clifford and Wilfred Salt in England , and sister Violet Salt, and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Janet Hannaby and Vera Barley. Mrs. Hilditch emigrated from England in 1950 and has resided in Sarnia , having worked in the physiotherapy department at St. Joseph ’s Hospital for 20 years. Loving father of Colleen and Dave Demille of Belleville, Tim O'Brien and Catherine of Burlington, Marty O'Brien and Lesley of Ottawa, Christopher O'Brien of Toronto, Jennifer and Mark Dennis of Sarnia and Terry O'Brien and Debra of London. Cherished grandfather and Buppy to Jacqueline and Megan Demille, Claire, Shannon, Tara and Sean O'Brien, Patrick, Michael and Daniel Dennis, and Rod and Taylor O'Brien. Brother of Margaret Starr, Rita and Tom Parsons and Catherine and Stan Campbell. Predeceased by sisters Noreen MacDonald, Mary Duchene and Marie Therese O'Brien. Pat, who was born and raised in Sarnia, served in the Canadian Army in W.W.II then spent his working career in the Chemical Valley, Imperial Oil, Dow Chemical, Welland Chemical and C.I.L. He was an avid sportsman, musical chorister and political activist. He served for 18 years on Sarnia City Council working on many Boards and Commissions during those years. When he was asked why do you stay at it? - He replied in the words of Aristotle 'Politics is the science that studies the supreme good for mankind'.
