Loving son of Evelyn Young, Mattawa and the late Andre Pinard and son-in-law of Joyce Leslie, Leamington and the late Fred Leslie. Dear brother of Darlene Benoit and husband Terry, Newfoundland; Wayne Pinard, Nova Scotia and brother-in-law of Keith Leslie and wife Diana, Leamington; Norma Hall and husband Gord, BC. Many nieces and nephews also survive. John was a member of Wheatley Xenophon Masonic Lodge #448 and Royal Canadian Legion Br. #84 Leamington and a 25 years veteran of the H.J. Heinz Co. Dear brother of Helen and Albert Schneider of Michigan, Hanna and Josef Hecker of Michigan, Erna and Kurt Schachowskoy of Leamington, Elizabeth Molzon of Alvinston, Lydia and Reinhardt Lutz of Windsor, Helmuth and Maria Pletz of Windsor. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dear father of George Vermeulen and wife Darlene, Kansas City, Kansas; Eugene Vermeulen, Muncie, Indiana; Joan Bradt and husband Richard, Leamington; Ron Whent and wife Janis, Waterloo; Sylvia Claxton and husband Sam, Kitchener. Loving grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Predeceased by 5 sisters and 1 brother. Youssef, Madem (nee Gaspard). Peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, May 19, 2001 at 93 years of age at the Leamington Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Elias Younan and Nagib Youssef. Dearest mother of Nouhad and husband Saade Nasar of Lebanon, the late Youssef Younan and surviving wife Betty of Windsor, the late Younan Younan and surviving wife Liza of Leamington, the late Hend Obeid and surviving husband John of Windsor. Survived by 29 Grandchildren, 62 Great Grandchildren, 26 Great Great Grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces. Predeceased by two Grandchildren, John Younan and Claudette Raffoul, three brothers, Youssef, Massoud, Gaspard and sister Angelina Sleiman. Loving grandfather of Caitlin, Michelle, Isabelle, Eli and Tess. Dear brother of Shirley Saillard and husband Bill, Elizabeth Lisners and husband Karl, also dear brother-in-law of Enid and Ron Anderson, Bev and the late Bill Holt, all of Australia.all of Australia. Jack had a 40 year teaching career, commencing in NSW Australia, retiring from Kennedy Collegiate, Windsor in 1989. He was Past President of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation Windsor Branch, a member of Windsor Kiwanis Club and Erie Shores Golf and Country Club. Rekuta, Mervin, 66 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 3rd 2001 at Leamington District Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle with brain tumors. Cherished husband, best friend and sweetheart of Brenda (McCormick) for over 45 years. Devoted Dad of Dennis, Windsor; Tracy and wife Eva, Kitchener; Kelly and wife MaryAnne, Pickering and the late Darren (1966). Loving son of the late Wasyl and Josefa Rekuta and the late Elymer and Eleanor McCormick. Loving brother of Sophie and Nick Platsko, Polly and Mike Koszycki, Lena and Jerry Janik, Margaret and the late Luke Rekuta and Harry and Gladys Rekuta. Merv was a kind and gentle man who will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, his cousin Michel and family and many cherished, supportive friends. Merv retired from Daimler Chrysler in 1994 after 34 1/2 years service at Plant 3. He was a retired member of CAW Local 444. Merv was an active member of Leamington United Church for many years.
