Collins, John Arthur

Date of Death: January 20th 2002
COLLINS, John Arthur – 86 – passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 20th, 2002 , at the Royal Victoria Hospital , Barrie , Ontario . John was born in England and received a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History in 1937 and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Economics in 1950, both from the London School of Economics. He and his wife Mary moved to Canada in 1949 where he went on to become Vice-President, Alcan Finances Limited. John was an avid book collector, enjoyed anything to do with steam engines and railroads, was an excellent photographer, and loved to travel. John is survived by his wife Mary, daughters Margaret Collins and Anne Collins (Donald), sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Bob Shanks, niece Mary Siteman, and nephew, Mike Shanks. Memorial Service will be held at 3,00 p.m. , Friday, January 25th, 2002 , at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME, Clapperton and Worsley Streets, Barrie , Ontario . Donations in his memory can be made to the Salvation Army.

Dunford, John Egbert

DUNFORD, John Egbert (Jack) [Retired Sargeant with Royal Canadian Air Force, avid sports fan, president of figure skating clubs in New Brunswick, figure skating judge, and Sunday School teacher] Peacefully after a lengthy illness at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, on Monday, January 14th, 2002. Jack Dunford of Barrie , in his 71st year. Beloved husband of Eleanor (nee MacGregor). Loving father of Joanne Dunford of Barrie, Kim Kramer and her husband Mark of Barrie. Grampa of Sarah and Andrew Kramer. Dear brother of Tom Dunford, Myra Canning, Hettie MacDonald, and Dorothy MacKeigan, all of Sydney , Nova Scotia . Friends may call at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME, Clapperton and Worsley Streets, Barrie , on Thursday, January 17th, 2002 , from 10,00 a.m. until time of service in the Chapel at 11,00 a.m. Interment Barrie Union cemetery . In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Royal Victoria Hospital would be appreciated.

Beloved husband of Jean (Dunn) Jacklin and the late Marjorie McGibbons. Fourth son of seven sons born to William John Jacklin and Annie Vankoughnett. Dear step-father of 6 children, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Brother of Emmerson Jacklin of St. Thomas , and the late Alvin, Francis, Clifford, Carl, and Norm Jacklin. Friends may call at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME, Clapperton and Worsley Streets, Barrie , on Friday from 2,00 to 4,00 and 7,00 to 9,00 p.m. Complete service in the Chapel on Saturday, January 19th at 11,00 a.m. Cremation. JACKSON, Nighean Margaret (nee Macdonald) peacefully at her home, Barrie , on Saturday, January 26th, 2002 . Nighean was born in Linlithgow , Scotland , on March 1st, 1923 . Loving wife of T. Don Jackson for 53 years and wonderful mother of Lynda (Bob Shaer), Robert (Carol), Cam (Sunny), Patti (Carl Roulston), and Andrea (Paul Bereczky). Predeceased by son David. Adored grandmother of Aaron, Nathaniel, Justin, and Jackie Shaer, Catherine and Angela Jackson, Alyx, Lauren and Jackie Roulston. Lovingly remembered by Ben Shannon, Troy and Arleen Hammond. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all who supported Mom with flowers, well wishes, food, and their tender loving care. A special word of thanks to Dr. Nancy Trimble and all other health care professionals for their warmth and kindness over the past year. JACKSON, ROBERT DALE Suddenly at his home on Friday January 4, 2002. Rob Jackson in his 32nd year. Beloved son of Harold and Wendy Jackson of Selkirk. Loving brother of Carrie of Port Dover. Dear grandson of Barbara and the late Jim Pearson, and the late Lloyd and Anne Jackson. Loving father of Ann Elizabeth. Rob will also be greatly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends at the Weiderick Memorial Chapel R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Homes Ltd. 17 Erie St. North, Fisherville on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday January 9, 2002 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Predeceased by sisters Helen Hannah and Doris Jackson and brother Jack Graves.
