CLARK, John Joseph (Jack) (Very Worshipful Brother) - 1919-2005 - Peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife and family on Sunday, June 5, 2005 at the Waterford Nursing Home, Oakville, Ontario. Jack, a native of Tillsonburg, Ontario started his railway career with the London-Port Stanley Railroad in 1942, joining the CPR's passenger department at Windsor, Ontario in 1944. A year later he was transferred to Camp Borden as ticket clerk, transporting troops overseas during the war, becoming acting agent there prior to being posted to Toronto City Ticket office from where he came to St.John, New Brunswick as travelling passenger agent. Jack travelled extensively with his CPR career before joining the original "Group of Six" in 1966, forming the GO Transit System. Jack said farewell to GO Transit in 1984. Jack was readily received into Free Masonry in 1949 and was Past Master of Ionic Lodge No. 25 and Trafalgar Lodge No. 712 before being appointed Grand Steward in 1997. Jack was predeceased by his late wife Margaret and is survived by his loving wife Brenda and family. Jack will be remembered as a well respected, kind and gentle man. ACTON, Ruby May - (Retired North America Life Insurance) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 7, 2005, in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Stewart Acton. ACKERLEY, William Kenneth - In his 80th year, on July 8, 2005, in the Palliative Care Unit at Princess Margaret Hospital. Predeceased by brother Graham, and survived by brother Edgar and sisters Eleanor and Phyllis. Bill gently passed away in the company of his adoring family, who were the centre of his world, Bonnie (Bernice), his wife of 57 years, and sons Glenn and Paul. He was like a second father to daughters-in-law Norma and Paula. Christine, Jonathan, Aidan and Shane will cherish their memories of Grandpa Bill's big hugs, playful humour and infectious curiosity. A highly respected advertising writer, he enjoyed his retirement summers puttering around his beloved Stoney Lake cottage, while finding time for long naps on the porch. He faced his illness with inspiring courage and acceptance, with help from a remarkable palliative care team. All his dear friends are invited to attend a celebration of his wonderful life on Friday, July 15 at 2,00 p.m., at Jerrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge St. (2 lights south of Steeles). In her 93rd year. Our dear mother and granny passed peacefully at the Bennett Centre in Georgetown. She is survived by her son David and his wife Chris, her grandchildren Jennifer and her husband Andy, and James, by her step- grandchildren Niki and her husband Duke, and Brandon, and also by her brother Harold and his wife Barbara. We'll miss her smile and unfaltering love. We wish to thank the entire staff at the Bennett Centre for their kindness and excellent care. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, July 29th at 10,30 a.m. at York cemetery (160 Beecroft Rd., North York). passed away peacefully in Toronto. Beloved son of Jackie and Len, John and Pat. He will also be missed by his loving brother Lee, sisters Kate, Krista and Vanessa. Grandparents Jack, Joan, Len, Maude, and Jean also mourn the loss of their grandchild. We are so thankful for the many happy years he spent with family, friends, and math students - Ryan's bright light was extinguished far too early.
