AIMERS, John Patrick Baird - (Retired Manager, Brewers' Retail) Peacefully on Wednesday August 3rd, 2005 in his 88th year. Loving husband of the late Ada, for 58 years. Dear father of Brian (Joyce), Ardelle (late Allan White), Jacqueline (Rick), John (Joanne), David (Julie), and Lori (Brian). John will be sadly missed by his 10 grandchildren. Aprivate family funeral will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

ABELLA, Sonia M. - Peacefully, at the Sunnybrook Hospital, with her family by her side, on Wednesday August 10, 2005. Friends will be received at the Highland Funeral Home, 3280 Sheppard Avenue East (west of Warden 416-773-0933) on Saturday and Sunday from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday August 15 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 14 Highgate Dr., Markham. Interment Highland Memory Gardens. Donations to the Sunnybrook Cancer Research Centre in Sonia's name, would be greatly appreciated.

AITKEN, Phillip John - passed away peacefully at the North York General Hospital, Toronto, Ontario, on August 15, 2005 at the age of 53. Beloved son of Geraldine and the late Gordon Aitken. Father of Jason and his wife Katja. Grandfather of Anna and Lisa. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Claudia and Gilles Noel, Pamela and Peter Kukulsky and Barbara and Robby Comand. ACTON, Phyllis Joan (nee Corrigan) - It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Phyllis Acton, on Friday, August 26, 2005, at the age of 72. Born in Detroit, Michigan, November 12, 1932. Loving wife for 51 years of Richard J. Acton of Mississauga. Predeceased by her parents Doris and Earl Corrigan of Detroit, Michigan. Loving mother and cherished by her children Maribeth Martin of Barrie, Ontario, Kelly Acton (Renate) of Tarpon Springs, Florida and Alyson Praught (Chris) of Oakville, Ontario. Much loved and devoted grandmother to Jeffrey, Brittany, Penny, Maddy and Amy. Dear sister and sister-in-law to Sharon Hebert (Bill) of Windsor, Ontario, Jimmy Parker (Robyn) of Michigan and June and the late Ron St. Pierre of Windsor, Ontario. Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. After a lifetime of teaching us the nature of a warm and generous spirit, and unconditional love, the lessons continued to the end, where we learned about grace and dignity in the face of suffering. All are invited to celebrate her life at the Turner & Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy. 10 N. of QEW) on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at 11 a.m. at St.Patrick's Church, 921 Flagship Dr., Mississauga (at Tomken). ALICE ABT
In her 74th year, passed away peacefully with her family by her side in the early morning of August 27, 2005. 'Liche' will be sadly missed by her loving husband Werner, of 46 years. Also, by her loving daughters Barbara (Charles) and Sabine. Omi shared happy and fun times with her grandchildren Stefanie, Christopher, Nicole, Amanda and Alexander. Alice is survived by her two younger brothers Volki (Yoli) and Jurg (Blanche) of Switzerland. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, (905-844-2600) from 6-9 p.m. on August 31st, with a Funeral Mass at 11a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2005 at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church, 47 Reynolds Street, Oakville. ADAMSON, Harold Theodore - Peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, on Sunday, September 18th, 2005, in his 90th year, Harold Theodore, beloved husband of the late Marion. Much loved and respected father of Charlie, Hal (Laurie), Larry (Ruth), and David. He took great pride and delight in his grandchildren, Shelly, Tina, Norman, Mandy, Cary and Tom and cherished the time spent with his 9 great-grandchildren. Harold was predeceased by his brothers Marshall, Earl, Norman and Peter and his sister Anne.Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home of Skinner & Middlebrook Ltd., 128 Lakeshore Rd. E. JAMES ROBERT ADAMS, MD, PhD.passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at home surrounded by his family and caregiver. His presence made the world a better place, and he will be dearly missed. A Commemorative Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Holy Trinity Church, 12 Prefontaine West, Ste. Agathe desMonts, Quebec.
