Loved grandmother of Carrie, Shari, Michele, Jennifer, Sandra, Colin, Sean and great grandmother of Ashley, Cory, Michael and Rachel. Daughter of the late James and Josephine Karry. BURGIE, Edward -Peacefully at home on Monday, February 3rd, 2003; in his 74th year. Ed Burgie, of Orillia, beloved husband of Audrey (formerly Barrand) and the late Ruth MacDonald. Loving father of Marianne Purkiss & Max of Cambridge, Debbie Clarke & Tom of Orillia, Mickael Burgie & Carina of Sweden and stepfather of Darlene Coulter & Al of Orillia, Christina Roy & Terry of Cambridge, Judy Parry & Rick of Severn Bridge. Grandfather of 17 and great grandfather of 1. Brother of Betty, Dan, Sue, and the late Barb. CALDWELL, Carl Walter - Carl, 85, was released from the confines of his illness on Saturday. Carl leaves his beloved wife Evelyn (Stephenson). Son of the late James Walter Asa Caldwell and Matilda Sampson of Hope Twp., Durham County, predeceased by wife Jean Craig (1979). Father of Robert (Joan) of New Brunswick, David (Shauna) of Manitoba, and Craig of British Columbia, and grandfather of five. Carl's death is also mourned by two sisters Wilma Lewis (Lloyd) of Toronto and family Paul, Linda and Janice, and Helen Hawke (Tom) of London. His delightful smile, twinkling eyes and ready wit will be fondly remembered by cousins Luella Moore, Robert Caldwell (Delia), Helen Massey (Carman), Sandra Caldwell, Marsha Jones (Gary), all of Cobourg and area, George Caldwell (Audrey) of Oakville, Gary Caldwell (Merle) of Dundas, Jean Robinson (Norman) of Dryden, Marion Gilmour (Sam) of Georgetown and special friends Janet and Dale Dixon of Orillia. Special thanks for her loving care to Patricia at Jacoba House. Carl is known for his extensive contributions and awards in the Orillia, Ora, Ontario and North American Horticultural Societies, particularly as a grower and developer of new hybrids of lilies. He was retired Stationary Engineer, pursuing his career in Peterborough, Belleville, Downsview and Orillia (Domtar), and an earlier partnership in an Orillia appliance business. His interests included railroading, lawn bowling, and people (who loved his story-telling!). Friends will be received from 12 noon until the service at 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 29th and during the reception to follow at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St.,N., Orillia. WEBER, BENTE ("Ben") (Reg'd. N.) - passed away peacefully after a brief struggle with cancer at her residence, Lagoon City (Brechin) with family at her side on Wednesday, December 4, 2002. Beloved wife of Gerd. Dearly loved mother of Michael of Mississauga and Mark at home. Dear sister of, Pete Pedersen and wife Monica of Tilley, Alta., Marianne Pedersen and husband Wayne of Cherry Valley, Ont., Liz Phillips and husband Gary of Bowmanville, Tina Da-Silva and husband Lance of Ottawa. Aunt 'Ben' will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Bente was born in Denmark in 1947 and emigrated to Niagara-on-the-Lake with her family in 1957. She graduated from the nursing program at the Hospital for Sick Children (Toronto) in 1970 and married Gerd in 1972. Together they resided in Pickering from 1972 to 1990 and then moved to Fenelon Falls and Lagoon City. Resting at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia, Ont.
