II Veteran - R.C.A.F. 409 Squadron; Monsignor Lee Assembly 2175; Past Grand Knight of Council 1428 Orillia; Chairman of the St. Michael's Roman Catholic cemetery Board; Member of the Orillia Kiwanis Golden K Club; Daily communicant at Guardian Angels Church) at home in Orillia with his family at his side on November 8th, 2002; in his 84th year. Devoted husband of 51 years of Edith Williams (nee, Chantrey). Loving father of Therese (Stephen), Daniel (Susan), Cecilia (Brian), Jamie (Lisa) and John (Michelle). Beloved grandfather of Christina, Matthew, Carolyn and Kerri Craig-Paul, Dominy, Caitlin, Meghan & Graeme Williams, Erin, Brendan and Kiera Sheehan, Emily and Thomas Williams & Lucas and Chantrey Williams. Dear brother of Catherine Allen & the late Aubrey Allen. Brother-in-law of Helen and Charles Annis. Predeceased by brothers Rhys, Gwillym & John Williams. The late Dr. Paul Williams will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St., N., Orillia on Sunday from 7 - 9 P.M. and Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 P.M. Then to the Church of the Guardian Angels for Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday morning, November 12th at 10 o'clock. Interment :- St. Michael's cemetery , Orillia. Parish Prayers will be said in the chapel Monday evening at 7 o'clock. Memorial donations to St. Michael's Roman Catholic cemetery Projects, Guardian Angels Church Building Fund or "My Hospital - Our Future" Capital Campaign of the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital would be gratefully appreciated.

Brocklebank, Helen (Karry) -suddenly on February 4, 2003 at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, in her 91st year. Helen, beloved wife of the late Audry Henry. Dear mother of JoAnne Maher and late husband Ted, Brian and wife Brenda, Wayne and wife Cathie, and the late James. Mother-in-law of Maureen and Eunice. Loved grandmother of Carrie, Shari, Michele, Jennifer, Sandra, Colin, Sean and great grandmother of Ashley, Cory, Michael and Rachel. Daughter of the late James and Josephine Karry. Sister of George and the late Theodore. Dear friend of Margaret McLean. The late Mrs. Helen Brocklebank will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Columbkille's Roman Catholic Church, Uptergrove, on Friday morning, February 7th, at 10 o'clock. Parish prayers will be said at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 7 o'clock. If desired, memorial donations to the Diabetes Association, Ontario Humane Society, or your Mission of choice would be appreciated by the family. A special thanks to Dr. John Stokreef and the nursing staff of Soldiers' 2.

BURGIE, Edward -Peacefully at home on Monday, February 3rd, 2003; in his 74th year. Ed Burgie, of Orillia, beloved husband of Audrey (formerly Barrand) and the late Ruth MacDonald. Loving father of Marianne Purkiss & Max of Cambridge, Debbie Clarke & Tom of Orillia, Mickael Burgie & Carina of Sweden and stepfather of Darlene Coulter & Al of Orillia, Christina Roy & Terry of Cambridge, Judy Parry & Rick of Severn Bridge. Grandfather of 17 and great grandfather of 1. Brother of Betty, Dan, Sue, and the late Barb. The late Mr. Edward Burgie will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St., N., Orillia, on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 11a.m. Interment : St. Andrew's-St.James' cemetery , Orillia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society (research) would be gratefully appreciated.

Caldwell Carl Walter

CALDWELL, Carl Walter - Carl, 85, was released from the confines of his illness on Saturday. Carl leaves his beloved wife Evelyn (Stephenson). Son of the late James Walter Asa Caldwell and Matilda Sampson of Hope Twp., Durham County, predeceased by wife Jean Craig (1979). Father of Robert (Joan) of New Brunswick, David (Shauna) of Manitoba, and Craig of British Columbia, and grandfather of five. Carl's death is also mourned by two sisters Wilma Lewis (Lloyd) of Toronto and family Paul, Linda and Janice, and Helen Hawke (Tom) of London. His delightful smile, twinkling eyes and ready wit will be fondly remembered by cousins Luella Moore, Robert Caldwell (Delia), Helen Massey (Carman), Sandra Caldwell, Marsha Jones (Gary), all of Cobourg and area, George Caldwell (Audrey) of Oakville, Gary Caldwell (Merle) of Dundas, Jean Robinson (Norman) of Dryden, Marion Gilmour (Sam) of Georgetown and special friends Janet and Dale Dixon of Orillia. Special thanks for her loving care to Patricia at Jacoba House. Carl is known for his extensive contributions and awards in the Orillia, Ora, Ontario and North American Horticultural Societies, particularly as a grower and developer of new hybrids of lilies. He was retired Stationary Engineer, pursuing his career in Peterborough, Belleville, Downsview and Orillia (Domtar), and an earlier partnership in an Orillia appliance business. His interests included railroading, lawn bowling, and people (who loved his story-telling!). Friends will be received from 12 noon until the service at 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 29th and during the reception to follow at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St.,N., Orillia. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy to the Cancer Society, the Alzheimer Association, Jacoba House, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

CRANNEY, Ross Patrick -Suddenly passed away on Wednesday, January 29th, 2003 at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital. Loving son of Mrs. Muriel Cranney and the late Eugene Cranney. Loving brother of Ken and wife Bonnie of Orillia and predeceased by Donna Cranney. Dear uncle of Murray and wife Joan, and Dean and wife Heather. Great uncle of Lindsay, Matthew, Olivia, and Sophia. The late Ross Cranney will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St., N., Orillia from 2-4 and 7-9 on Friday. Then to the Church of Guardian Angels 115 West St., N., Orillia on Saturday afternoon, February 1st, at 2 o'clock. Spring Interment : St. Michael's cemetery Orillia. Parish prayers will be said at the Mundell Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m., Friday. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be gratefully appreciated by the family.

Cherished father of Russell (Rusty) Crossley and wife Marion Howard of Milton, Patti Harold and husband Paul of Vermont, Nancy Jenkins and husband Mike of Ajax and Brad of North Carolina. Loved grandfather of Jeff Harold and wife Teresa; Michelle Appleby and husband Scott; Amber and Cassie Jenkins; Ryan, Jacqueline and Gregory Crossley and their mother Joanne (Joey). Great grandfather of Riley and Rachel Harold. Brother of Helen Atkins and late husband Russell, Muriel Dowton (predeceased) and surviving husband Harry, Madeline Camblin and late husband Les, Patricia Pawley and husband Jim and Donald and wife Joan. Brother-in-law of Al and Pat Decker. Uncle Norm will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. The late Mr. Norman Crossley will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Guardian Angel, 115 West St. N., Orillia on Friday morning February 14th at 10 o'clock. Spring Interment : St. Michael's cemetery , Orillia. If desired, memorial donations made to the Lung Association would be appreciated by the family. Parish prayers will be said at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 7 o'clock. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. #34, Orillia, are asked to gather fo a service at the funeral home on Thursday at 6:45 PM.

Weber, Bente

WEBER, BENTE ("Ben") (Reg'd. N.) - passed away peacefully after a brief struggle with cancer at her residence, Lagoon City (Brechin) with family at her side on Wednesday, December 4, 2002. Beloved wife of Gerd. Dearly loved mother of Michael of Mississauga and Mark at home. Dear sister of, Pete Pedersen and wife Monica of Tilley, Alta., Marianne Pedersen and husband Wayne of Cherry Valley, Ont., Liz Phillips and husband Gary of Bowmanville, Tina Da-Silva and husband Lance of Ottawa. Aunt 'Ben' will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Bente was born in Denmark in 1947 and emigrated to Niagara-on-the-Lake with her family in 1957. She graduated from the nursing program at the Hospital for Sick Children (Toronto) in 1970 and married Gerd in 1972. Together they resided in Pickering from 1972 to 1990 and then moved to Fenelon Falls and Lagoon City. Resting at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia, Ont. L3V 5C1, 705-325-2231, from 7 to 9 PM Thursday. Funeral service in the chapel on Friday, December 6th, at 11 AM. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital (Oncology) or Community Care Access would be sincerely appreciated.
