He will be missed by his children Petra Sanford (Marc), Terry, Danny (Karen) and Katherine (Steve Horvath) all of the Ottawa area; also by his grandchildren Talia, Lisa, Shawna, Tina, Leslie, Mitchell, Lacey, Aidan and Ryan.
Survived also by his siblings Bill and Casey in Canada and Jan, Mien, and Hein in Holland.
Predeceased by his brothers Bert, Mies and Ben in Holland.
Martin was blessed with the care and support of his companion Adri Laurysen, who with her family shared friendship and laughter with him over the past years.
