WHYNOTT, Margaret (nee Whittaker) - Peacefully at her home in Oakville, surrounded by her family, after a brief illness, on Saturday, December 30, 2000, in her 75th year. Margaret, beloved wife to Herman for 50 years. Loving mother to Colleen Kimlin and her companion Barry Burrows; Marla and her husband Jerry Rogers. Gramsie will be missed by Christopher, Laura and Megan; Allison and Brent. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds St., Oakville, 905-844-3221, on Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. with the family present from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Margaret s life will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, January 3, 2001 at 11 a.m. with burial at Trafalgar Lawn cemetery , Oakville and a reception to follow at the funeral home in the Reynolds Room. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Oakville Humane Society or to a charity of your choice.

CHRISTILAW, Thomas Nathan Chris B.A.Sc., P.Eng U of T 1943, R.C.E.M.E. Captain - passed away after a brief illness at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Sunday, October 8, 2000 in his 81st year. Dearly beloved husband of Mary Peters (nee Evans) of 56 years. Loving father of David and his wife Gloria of Brantford and Susan Mary and her husband Frank Cooney. Proud and devoted Grandpa of Adrian, Sarah and Adam and his fianc e Hayley and also Papa of Shane and Todd. Survived by his sister Mary Elizabeth and her husband Basil Hall of Southampton and his brother Dr. John Stewart Jack and his wife Dawn of Kilbride. Dear brother-in-law of Elizabeth Cohoon of Simcoe. He will be missed by his many friends. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville (parking off Church Street, east of Reynolds) (905-844-3221) on Tuesday from 3 - 9 p.m. with family present from 3 5 and 7 9 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, October 11th at 11 a.m. in the Chapel followed by a reception in the Reynolds Room and then burial in Woodland cemetery , Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Salvation Army.

COWAN, Catherine - Died at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Monday, March 26, 2001. Her 20 year battle with cancer has finally ended. Her husband Milton, children, Catherine Kenmuir and Ron Francoeur; Lisa and Brett Hill; and Jeffery; grandchildren Ashley and Brandon; mother Serena Agueci; siblings Donna and Roger McKeen; Linda and John Arundel; Lorie and Gary Pearen; Joe and Maryann Agueci invite you to join them in remembering and celebrate her life at Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville, on Tuesday from 7 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 4 and 7 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Michael s Roman Catholic Church, 181 Sewell Drive, Oakville, on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Springcreek cemetery , Mississauga. GARNER, Peter Richard BA, MA, MB, BCHIR, MSC, FRCPC, FACP On Sunday, November 10, 2002 at the Ottawa Hospital, Civic Campus, surrounded by family at the age of 58. Dr. Garner was Professor of Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Ottawa. Beloved husband of Pamela (nee Hill). Son of the late Matthew Garner, Peter is survived by his mother Margaret Garner (nee Toulson) of Yorkshire, England. Father of Simon (Darlene and her children Alysha, Adam), Julian (Jaime) and Suzanne (Ken). Brother of Martin (Andrea), James, Alex and Suzannah, all of Yorkshire, England. Dr. Garner studied medicine at Cambridge University and St. Mary's Hospital Medical School, London, England and took his post graduate education at the University of Western Ontario and University of London, England. Peter was committed to excellence in academic medicine through patient care, research and teaching. (New paragraph please) His family wishes to thank the nursing staff and physicians on D2 at the Ottawa Hospital, Civic Campus. They also wish to acknowledge the support and caring he felt from his many friends and colleagues since his stroke in 1998. Friends may call at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road at Roosevelt, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers,, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Smutnicki, Sharon (nee Hercanuck)

SMUTNICKI, Sharon - With deep sadness, the family of Sharon Smutnicki (nee Hercanuck) announce her passing at the Welland County General Hospital. She succumbed peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday February 25, 2001 at the age of 52. She leaves many wonderful memories for her husband Rick and her children Jennifer, Susan and Ryan all of Welland. Loving sister of Ron McKenzie (Lynn) of Vancouver, BC, Pat Cutler (Bill) of Welland, Doug Hercanuck (Melissa) of Fonthill, and Jo-Ann Tripkovic (Dan) of Fenwick. Dear daughter-in-law of Sofia Smutnicki, and sister-in-law of Chris Smutnicki of Welland. Remembered with fondness by her nieces and nephews. Sharon was predeceased by her parents Alexander and May Hercanuck, and her father-in-law Mike Smutnicki. Friends will be received at J. J. PATTERSON & SONS FUNERAL RESIDENCE 19 Young Street, Welland on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where Rev. Stan Bijak will conduct a Vigil on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Sts. Peter and Paul Church on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. Cremation will follow. Donations to the Hamilton Regional Cancer Centre Foundation or Sts. Peter and Paul Building Fund would be greatly appreciated by the family.

At rest in the ever-loving arms of her heavenly father and savior on April 10, 2001 at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe, Edna (Staats) Moss wife of the late Bill Moss, mother of Pam Moss of London & Paul Steven Staats, sister of the late Melvin & Leonard Staats, sister-in-law of Mary Staats, also survived by several nieces & nephews. Resting at the Styres Funeral Home, Ohsweken after 2pm Friday where Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday at 1pm. Interment Medina Baptist cemetery. Evening prayers 7pm Friday.

Loving friend of Karren Sosnowski. She will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews. Nanny Pat will be lovingly remembered by her close friends and extended family. Predeceased by his beloved daughter June who is survived by her husband Doug McFarlane. Lovingly remembered by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Thomas - Major Eric, LVO 23 February, 1954 - 27 October, 2002 Surrounded by God's love, and the love of his family and friends our beloved Eric completed his earthly journey. His death on Sunday, October 27, 2002 has broken the hearts of his soul mate Andrea, and their children Arika, Ben and Ashlee. He will be remembered with love and respect by Jeff Ferguson, Tyler Simpson, Stacy, Sarah and Mitchell Carkner who he loved like his own children. Loved by his parents Jean and Boyd (deceased) Thomas, brothers Rick and Lynn and Marg and LeeAnn and their families. Loved by his in-laws Mary and Herb Graves, Jennifer and Larry Carkner, David and Ingrid Graves, Wendy and Ron Dallmeier and their families. Eric will be sorely missed by his friends, co-workers and church family. Loving mother of Margaret Atkinson of Nashville, Darlene and Bill Foster of Dunnville, Roger Atkinson of Hamilton, Coralee Curran of Dunnville, and Irma Mellen of Hamilton. Fondly remembered by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Ruth Winger, Edna Weatherston, Frances Docherty, Bob (Charlotte) Hoover, Albert (Donna) Hoover, and Roger (Geraldine) Hoover. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by an infant daugher Carol, son Allan, two sisters Olive Anderson, Margaret Tyndall, and three brothers Milton, Sheldon and Wes Hoover. Fiercely loyal to his friends and protective of his sisters, Chris left us in the prime of his life, just after his 26th birthday, on December 12, 2002. Cherished son of Roy and Helen, brother of Jennifer (Darren Life), Kaleigh and Rachael, and adoring uncle of baby Lauryn. He will be fondly remembered and missed by all of his Phish Phriends.
