(Staff Sargent with the Ontario Provincial Police, Member of the OPP from March 1973 to present) -peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, at his residence, on Sunday, October 20, 2002. William Savage, beloved husband and friend of Joanne. Beloved son of Wyatt & Louise Savage. Loving father of Susan Maschino and husband Marc, Amy Savage, Amanda and Ryan Murdock. YON, Cecilia Mary -at the Orillia Care Centre on Tuesday, January 28, 2003, in her 80th year. Cecilia Mary (nee O'Connell), adored wife of the late Fredrick Louis Yon. Cherished niece of Evelyn Kenny of Orillia. Sister of Helen Barnett and husband Jim, Robert O'Connell and his wife Lynn, William O'Connell and his wife Sharon and the late Noreen Keith. Dear sister-in-law of Teresa Elliott and late husband Sam, Morley Yon and his late wife Gladys. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Will be sadly missed by many friends at the Legion complex. Extraordinary grandfather of Genevieve and Natalie Tokgoz, James, Andrew and Katie Walton, and Annie and Harry Dearden. Brother of Barbara Stubley (Dalton) of Mississauga. Carson, Dorothy Mildred on January 8, 2003, in her 87th year, peacefully at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital following a brief illness; cherished wife of the late Reverend M.J.D. Carson, predeceased by her beloved sons John and David (Sandra Pim-Carson), dear mother of Barbara Jardine (David) Sackville, New Brunswick, Margaret Pomeroy (John) Orillia, Ontario; much loved Nana of Michael, Daniel (Patti) and Andrew Jardine and David and Meghan Pomeroy; eldest daughter of the late Harold and Mildred Preston, predeceased by brother Bill Preston (Leona), Calgary, Alberta, dear sister of Dr. Helen Glass and Don Preston (Shelagh) of Winnipeg, Manitoba; sister-in-law of the late Bert and Patricia Carson, London, Ontario; fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. Dorothy was born in Regina, raised in Saskatoon, graduated from the University of Saskatchewan and began her teaching career at Prince Albert. She balanced family and professional life, supporting and supported by her husband, earning a Masters of Education degree from the University of Ottawa while teaching full time. A respected guidance counselor with the Ottawa-Carleton Board of Education, she was awarded the Olive Diefenbaker Award in recognition of her contribution. Active for many years at Trinity United Church, she is remembered fondly by friends and colleagues in Ottawa. In retirement she traveled extensively with her sister and took pleasure in the activities of her children, grandchildren and extended family. She particularly treasured time at the family cottage in the Gatineau Hills and her sister's cottage at Lake of the Woods. Following cremation, friends may call at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Friday, January 10th from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Services of remembrance will take place in Orillia on Saturday, January 11 at 3:00 pm at St. Paul's United Church, 62 Peter Street North and in Ottawa on Tuesday, January 14, 1:00 pm at Trinity United Church, 1099 Maitland Avenue.
