Date of Death: February 1st 2003
HAMILTON, MERVIN ELLSWORTH "Hamm" Gone to be with his wife Eva. Born in Haileybury on October 5, 1916 and died in Orillia on February 1, 2003. Father of Douglas & wife Claire and grandfather of David & Georgia. Remembered by family; Mary, wife of his late brother Gordon & her daughter Deb; Cecilia and Richard & their children Lorne & Peter, Dot and Ivan & their children Judy, Patricia & Dorothy; Don and Eva May & their children Valerie, James & David; and friends at Hillside Bible Chapel. Visitation will be held at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St., N., Orillia on Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 P.M. and on Tuesday afternoon February 4th from 12 Noon until time of Funeral Service at 1 o'clock. If desired, Memorial Donations to the Ontario Lupus Association would be gratefully appreciated.

Hawkins, Ida

HAWKINS; IDA (Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxillary, Branch #34, since 1964 and Legion Choir)
after a brief illness, on Saturday January 11th, 2003. Ida Hawkins of Orillia, beloved wife of Doug Hawkins. Loving mother of Wayne & wife Linda of Orillia. Also loved by her grandchildren Mark of Orillia, Richard & wife Tracy Maggio of Washago, great grandchildren Tanner, Trenton, Logan and John. Survived by her sisters Rene Love and Florence McDonald both of Derby, England. Predeceased by her 3 brothers Harry, Arthur and Edward Shreeve. Will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and close friends. The late Mrs. Ida Hawkins will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St.,N., Orillia from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Tuesday. Funeral service will be held in the chapel, Wednesday afternoon, January 15th at 1 o'clock. Spring Interment ; St.Andrew's-St.James' cemetery , Orillia. If desired, memorial donations to the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Messages of condolence are welcomed at www.mundellfuneralhome.com.. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxillary Branch #34, are asked to gather for service in the chapel, Tuesday evening at 6:45 p.m.

Laing, Velma Gladys - at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on Sunday, January 26, 2003, in her. Velma (nee Reid) of Sebright, beloved wife of Jim. Dear mother of Ken and wife Janice of Sadowa. Loved grandmother to grandaughter Dustan. Daughter of Mildred Reid of Sebright and the late Francis Reid. She will also be missed by many neices and nephews. A private cremation was entrusted to the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia. If desired, memorial donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

Loving father of Carol McDonald & husband Ian of Oro-Medonte, Lynn Philion of Chesley, Cindy Philion & Bryan Kitsemetry of Atherley, Alan Philion & wife Susan of Mayne Island, B.C.. Also loved by his grandchildren Michael & Matthew McDonald, Shane & Ara Bylow, Christopher & Emily Philion, Daniel, Maxwell & Sarah Philion and great grandchildren Reece, Cole & Logan Bylow. Survived by his brothers Gerry & Donald Philion, sisters Pauline & Aline and brother & sisters-in-law Albert, Evelyn and Edith Barker. Will be sadly missed by his many neices, nephews, family and friends. A Celebration of Roger's Life will be held at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St, N., Orillia on Friday, January 10th from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Orillia Soldier's Memorial Hospital-Equipment Fund would be appreciated.

Phillips, Pearl Gertrude

Phillips, Pearl Gertrude - at the IOOF Home, Barrie, on Thursday, December 9, 2003, in her 94th year. Pearl (nee Hutchinson) beloved wife of the late Roy Phillips. Loving mother of Cecil and wife Mert of Barrie and Louisa (Jo) and her late husband Clifford. Devoted Nana to 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Dear sister of Edna Laidly of Bobcageon. The late Mrs. Pearl Phillips will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia, on Friday from 7-9 PM. Service complete in the chapel on Saturday afternoon, January 11th at 1 o'clock. Spring interment at St. Andrew's - St. James' cemetery , Orillia. If desired the family would appreciate a donation to the charity of your choice in Mrs. Phillips memory.

Charles Brooks, of Orillia, beloved husband of 54 years of Katherine (nee, Knight). Loving father of Richard and Sylvia of Elmvale, Paul and Joanne of Gatineau, Quebec, and Kevin and Benedetta of Toronto. Proud grandfather of Sean, Patrick, Kyle, Anne, Emma, Thomas, and David. Predeceased by 3 brothers and 1 sister. Lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Following cremation, a Mass will be held at the Church of the Guardian Angels on Saturday morning, December 7, at 11 o'clock. If desired, memorial donations to the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital Foundation would be gratefully appreciated.

Grace Campbell of Orillia, formerly of Toronto, beloved wife of John Grant Campbell. Loving mother of Jim & wife Ulla of Toronto, Shirley Windross (predeceased) and Ken of Stirling. Also loved by her grandchildren Kristina & Laura Campbell, Jessie Wilson, Emma Gordon & husband Justin, Lee Windross, Jamie, Jill and Stephanie Campbell. Predeceased by her brother Harry Hall. The late Mrs. Grace Campbell will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St.,N., Orillia, on Monday, December 30th from 11:30 A.M. until time of funeral service in the chapel at 1:30 P.M.. Cremation to follow. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimers Society would be appreciated by the family.

The late Mrs. Hilda Renkema will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Wednesday from 7-9 PM. Service in the chapel on Thursday morning, December 12th at 11 o'clock.. Interment , St. Andrew's - St. James' cemetery. If desired, memorial donations made to the My Hospital - Our Future Capital Campaign of the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital would be gratefully appreciated.
