ROBBINS - Williams James of Watford born July 4, 1924 passed away peacefully Monday October 22, 2001 surrounded by his family at the London Health Sciences Centre. Beloved husband to Elsie (Stafford) for 54 years. Dear father of Judy (Lloyd) Stubbs of Thedford, Debbie (Ivan) McLean of Ancaster, Kathy (Ed) Tomecek of Chatham, Lorri (Michael) Merritt of London, Bill (Kay) Robbins of Windsor and Patti (Dave) Westaway of St. Thomas. Loved and missed by his grandchildren David, Rebecca, Andrea, Tanya, Hilary, Joseph, Jennie, Scott, Gaelen, Kate, Willie, Richard, Olivia, Alyssa and much awaited new arrival. Predeceased by parents William G and Ella (Belbin) Robbins and granddaughter Hannah Westaway. Fondly remembered by his sister Sally (Bill) Paul and sister-in-law Alice Stafford. Bill was born and raised in St. Thomas. During WWII he joined the RCNVR as a Stoker 1 on the HMCS Nabob. Shortly after his return home to St. Thomas he began his own business of W.J.Robbins Electrical Services from 1948-1965. He started a new career in 1966 and taught for the Windsor Board of Education till his retirement in 1986. For many years Bill enjoyed square dancing and woodworking. He was a member of the Military Institute of Windsor, the Watford Legion Branch #172 and was a very active member of the United churches in St. Thomas, Windsor and Watford. A private cremation and interment has taken place. A celebration of Bill s life will be held at the Watford United Church on Saturday October 27, 2001 at 3 p.m. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. at the church. Rev. Tom Beecroft officiating at both services. in lieu of flowers a donation in memory of Bill may be made for Prostate Cancer Research at the London Health Sciences Foundation c/o Dr. Chin, The London Regional Cancer Centre c/o Dr. Winquist or The Watford United Church.

LIDSTER - At the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Thursday October 25, 2001. Netta [Patrick] Lidster of Wallacetown in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Harold Lidster. Loving mother of Robert and Thelma Lidster of Alberta, Mary Lynch of St. Thomas, Pat and Ron Hansen of Wallacetown, Virginia Hoglund and Brien Cornwall of Dutton, Stanley and Fran Lidster of Shedden, William and Jackie Lidster of Wallacetown, Charlene McPherson and Dean Pearson of Alberta, Nancy and Robert Marshall of Duart, Elizabeth and Bryan Parker of Alberta, Rosita and Ron Hamilton of London. Loving grandmother of 26 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by a grandson, Michael, a son-in-law William Lynch, Sisters Laura Gunning, May Dickie and Ella Dowler and Brothers Harold, Foster and Basil Patrick. Relatives and friends will be received at the Arn Funeral Home, Dutton on Friday 2-4 & 7-9. The funeral service will be held from Wallacetown United Church on Saturday, October 27 at 11 a.m. Interment in St. Peter s cemetery. Donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

SKOWRONSKI - Suddenly at St. Joseph s Hospital, on Tuesday, October 23, 2001, Michael J. Mike Skowronski, in his 62nd year. Beloved husband of Sharon L. Skowronski (nee Corbett). Dear father of Jason Skowronski of Montreal. Loving son of William and the late Emily Skowronski of St. Thomas. Brother of Paul Ski (Danielle) of Vancouver. Predeceased by his son Jeffery. Funeral service took place on Friday, October 26, 2001 at the O Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St., London. (432-7136). Private interment in Mt. Pleasant cemetery London. Mike was an active volunteer in the community. Memorial donations may be made to the Children s Safety Village, Hutton House, or the John Gordon Home.

FLETCHER - Albert Cecil. A resident of Wardsville passed away at Babcock Community Care Centre, Wardsville on Saturday, October 27, 2001 at the age of 90. Born in Ridgetown, son of the late James and Nellie (Shaw) Fletcher. Beloved husband of the late Georgina Mae (Durfy) Fletcher (1979). Dear father of the late Noreen Fletcher (1994) and the late Charles Fletcher (1987) and his wife Helen of St.Thomas. Grandfather of 5, great-grandfather of 9, and great-great-grandfather of 2. Predeceased by one grandchild. Brother of the late Harry Fletcher, Morrie Fletcher, and Kathleen Fletcher. Albert was a past member of Temple Lodge #597, A.F. & A.M., London. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main St. East, Ridgetown on Sunday 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Monday 2:00-4:30 pm and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 30, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Hawkins and Pastor Bob Donaghy officiating. Interment Greenwood cemetery , Ridgetown. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

MACLEOD - Mildred of Caressant Care Nursing Home, St. Thomas, on Saturday, October 27, 2001, at her late residence, in her 91st year. Mildred was born in Nova Scotia on August 26, 1911. She was the daughter of the late Hugh and Barbara (Nicholson) MacLeod and dear sister of Murdock MacLeod of St. Thomas. She was predeceased by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Dear aunt of George MacLeod of St. Thomas. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews in the Maritimes, Boston, Mass., and Florida. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment Elmdale cemetery. Visitation Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the charity of choice.

SCOTT - At her residence on Monday, October 29, 2001. Mrs. Daisy Scott of Extendicare, Port Stanley and formerly of St. Thomas, in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the late Andrew Albert Scott (1967) and dearly loved mother of Morely and his wife Vera Scott, London; Jack and his wife Mary Scott, London; Christopher and his wife Joan Scott, St. Thomas; Bill and his wife Judy Scott, Wallaceburg and Sandra Jeanne Scott, St. Thomas. Dear sister of Clare and his wife Doris Brown, Windsor. Predeceased by a brother George Brown and a sister Viola McMaster. Daisy is also lovingly remembered by eleven grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Daisy was born in Norfolk County on April 27th, 1903 and was a member of the St. Anne s Church. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas until Wednesday morning and then to St. Anne s Church where Mass of the Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment Holy Angels cemetery. Visitation Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home Tuesday evening at 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the St. Anne s Building Fund or the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hosptial.

DAWSON - Shirely Jane. A resident of Chatham, died at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Public General Campus on Monday, October 29, 2001. Born in Chatham, daughter of the late Ted and Victoria (Legue) Dawson. Dear mother of Mark Wayne Howard and his wife April of Springford and the late James Howard. Grandmother of Madison and Morgan. Sister of Jim Dawson of Chatham and his late wife Teresa, Tom Dawson of Chatham, Nancy Denomy and her husband Paul of Thamesville and the late Patricia Benore. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Sadly missed by family and friends. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday from 2:00 - 4:30 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Friday, November 2, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Andrew Jensen of Park Street United Church officiating. Interment Maple Leaf cemetery , Chatham. Donations to Epilepsy Foundation appreciated.
