GLENDENNING, Andrew (Andy) Howard
At the Kingston General Hospital on Tuesday, November 15, 2011, peacefully in the arms of his workmate, wife and best friend of 27 years, Donna McNeil. Andy Glendenning of Tamworth at age 70. Graduate of Acadia University in Nova Scotia, former Royal Canadian Naval Officer, retired provincial civil servant having served the Ministries of Environment, Education and Housing, sailor, wood artist, animal lover, environmentalist, competitive swimmer, marksman, wildlife photographer, carpenter, gardener, homebuilder, all-around tinkerer with anything with moving parts. Andy was born August 15, 1941 and emigrated from Wales to Canada with his family in 1951. Proud and devoted father of Nadia of Kingston and Alex of Belleville, father-in-law of Kristin, and grandfather of Arin, loving son of Gwynneth of Tamworth and the late Bert Glendenning, and loving son-in-law of Geneva McNeil of Picton. Brother to Gail Thompson (Howard) of Chicago, Alison Campbell (Tony) of Ottawa and David Glendenning of Vancouver and brother-in-law to Joanne McNeil-Leitch (David) of North Vancouver. Uncle Andy was loved by numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Joyce passed away at St. Mary s of the Lake Hospital in Kingston, after battling cancer for several months. Beloved wife of the late Collin Dill (2000). She is predeceased by her parents Roscoe Lockridge and Ethel Mann, as well as her sister Audrey Corbeil (Paul) and her brother William Lockridge (late Donna). Fondly remembered by her brother-in-law Paul Corbeil; her nieces Cathy Nelson (late Bob) Mandy and Jeff, Katie Corbeil (Patrick Koch) Shannon and Chelsea; her nephews George Corbeil (Marie) and Audrey, Steven Lockridge (Molly) Jack and Josh, David Lockridge (Diann) Mackenzie and Logan. Remembering the good times is cousin, Gayle Smith & husband Ken, Wayne and Cathy, Wendy and Kirk, Evan, Jennifer and Caitlin; Toronto friends John, Wendy, Bob, Paulette, Brian, Margie, Frankie, Mary, Debbie, Dave, Sarah, Jessica and Helene; as well as Shirley, Helen, Sharon, Dora, Barbara and Mary, loving friends since spending time in the Centreville area.
