IMESON, William "Charles" ( Member of the Richmond Lodge #23, A.F. & A.M; GRC.) (Member & Past Patron of Richmond Hill Chapter #302, O.E.S. )
Peacefully at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on September 8, 2003; at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Wilma, for 53 years. Cherished father of Robert Imeson (Jan) and Judith Horan (Brian), and grandfather of Jessica, Paul, Valerie, and James. Dear brother of Barbara Robinson and Hubert predeceased. A Celebration of Charles' life will be held at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Thursday afternoon, September 11th at 1 o'clock. Then to the Marshall Funeral Home, 10366 Yonge St., Richmond Hill for a Celebration of Charles' life on Friday afternoon, September 12 at 1 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Arthritis Society would be gratefully appreciated.

Dear Aunt of Lawrence Giguere, Barbara and the late Leonard Cayer all of Sudbury, and Bertha Morrison of Bruce Mines. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Predeceased by 4 sisters and 4 brothers. Friends may call at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM Funeral Home, Clapperton and Worsley Streets, Barrie on Thursday July 3rd from 1:00 p.m. until time of service in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Cremation. Interment at St. Patrick’s cemetery , Lower Stafford (near Pembroke).

Hooper, Ruth

Date of Death: August 19th 2003
HOOPER, Ruth Margaret (Marg) Peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, on Tuesday, August 19th, 2003, in her 91st year. She will be lovingly missed by her daughter Karen Robinson and her husband Cam of R.R. #1, Owen Sound, her brother Alan Marco and wife Beatrice of Richford, Vermont, numerous nieces and nephews, and many cherished friends. Marg was predeceased by her devoted husband Alvin Hooper in November 1965, and brothers Dwight Marco ( Enfield, Connecticut ), and Carl Marco ( Red Deer, Alberta ). Marg loved life but more importantly she loved people. A simple, thrifty, spirited woman, she had her own standards and ideals that she lived by. Happiest when serving the needs of others, she constantly surrounded herself with people and thus became the unofficial matriarch of Nantyr Park – a community she called home since 1949. While Alvin ran his contracting business, she operated the Nantyr General Store (1949 – 1961) and watched her community grow and prosper. As a real estate agent, she helped individuals make their dreams a reality in Innisfil. After Alvin ’s sudden death in 1965, she worked at Craig Hunter Poultry Farm and then at the Barrie St. Vincent de Paul Store to provide for herself and her only daughter. A proud, independent and feisty lady, she will be missed by many. Marg was proud to be a member of the Rebekah Lodge, Lefroy United Church, and the Alcona Lakeland Seniors Groups. Friends may call at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME ( Yonge Street at Minet’s Point Road ) Barrie, on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Service in the Chapel on Saturday, August 23rd at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Riverside cemetery , Brigham, Quebec, on Tuesday, August 26th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, or the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation would be gratefully appreciated.

Dear brother of Don and Jean Hillock, Diane and George Newton and Sharon Turner. Will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM Funeral Home, Minet’s Pt. Rd., at Yonge Street, Barrie on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Complete Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday September 8th, at 11:00 a.m. Cremation. Memorial donations to the Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.

HICKS, Everett V.A (Retired Staff Superintendent of the Ontario Provincial Police and former Director of the Ontario Provincial Police College, Toronto ). passed away in his 95th year on Monday, July 7th, 2003. Everett Hicks in his 95th year, beloved husband of Wanda Frances Miller. Loving father of Dr. Terrence Hicks and his wife Wendy, Maureen and her husband Llewellyn Parsons, Randy Hicks and his wife Catherine, Brent Hicks and his wife Sherry and Shane Hicks and his wife Elly. Dear grandpa to 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his mother and father, his wife of a previous marriage Evangeline Scott, his brother Orville and sisters’ Gladys and Irene. He will be missed by his numerous nieces and nephews. Everett served with the Ontario Provincial Police for 34 ˝ years while stationed in Alliston, Orangeville, Bracebridge, Barrie and Perth before being transferred to General Headquarters in Toronto. Before joining the O.P.P. he owned and operated a general store in Carnarvon, Ontario. He was a devoted member of the United Church, Life Member of the Masonic Lodge, Ontario Provincial Police Association, Ontario Provincial Police Veterans Association and a charter and honourary member of the Kiwanis Golden “K” Club. He also held the Order of St. Johns. Friends may call at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME, Clapperton and Worsley Streets, Barrie, on Wednesday from 7–9 p.m. Service in the chapel on Thursday, July 10th, 2003 at 11 am. Interment at Ingoldsby cemetery , Ingoldsby, Ontario on Friday, July 11th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Dear grandfather of Emma, Brett, Ashley, Darren, Justine, Eric and Tyler. Brother of Maureen McLeod and husband Charles of Glen Huron, Lorna McLennan and husband Ray of Tillsonburg, Glen and wife Wilma of Fredericton, NB, Lyle and wife Donna of BC. Predeceased by his parents Leonard and Ella Herrington. Will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Tha late Mr. Morris Herrington will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia, on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Service in the chapel on Monday afternoon, June 2nd at 1 o'clock. Interment , St. Andrew's - St. James' cemetery , Orillia. If desired, memorial donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Doug Hawkins, of Orillia, beloved husband of the late Ida (nee, Shreeve). Loving father of Wayne and wife Linda of Orillia. Also loved by his grandchildren Richard and his wife Tracy, Mark and great grandchildren Tanner, Trenton, Logan, and John. Dear brother of Wallace Hawkins (predeceased) and wife "Ronne" of Parry Sound, Vera Hudson and husband Russ, Ilene Leigh and husband Don (predeceased), Jean Noble and husband Robert, all of Orillia. Will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and close friends. The late Mr. Douglas Hawkins will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Wednesday.Funeral service in the chapel on Thursday, August 28th at 1 PM. Dear mother of Alan Jackson (Shannon), Sarnia, Margaret 'Peg' Cormier and husband John, Corunna, Pat Griffin and wife Connie, Sarnia, and Victor 'Bud' Griffin and wife Linda, Sarnia. Grandmother of Raymond, Patrice, Jeremy, Amy, Jennifer, Chris, Tim and Theresa. Great Grandmother of Rachel, Karlie, Devin, Payton, Hunter, Hailey, and Morgan. Sister of Beverly McNaughton, Ardis Smith, Patsy Hindes and husband Floyd, all of Port Huron, Eunice Ferland and husband Andy, Gerald Manchester and wife Virginia, both of Texas, and Jim Manchester, Sarnia. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends. Predeceased by brothers Joseph, Dennis and Jack Manchester. Barbara was a Life Member of the Corunna Legion Auxillary and a member of the Eagles Club of Sarnia. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, Saturday June 14, 2003 1-3 pm. Interment St. Joseph's cemetery , Corunna at a later date. GRIBBIN, Jacquelyn Suddenly at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, on Wednesday, September 17, 2003. Jacquelyn (nee Chambers) was in her 59th year. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Gribbin. Cherished mother of Lisa and her husband Bob Lubinsky and D’Arcy and his wife Janice. Proud grandmother of Emily and Garrett. Dearly loved daughter of Wilma and the late Howard Chambers. Loving sister of Bill and wife Nancy Chambers, and Gary Chambers. Will also be remembered my nephews Michael, David, Gregory and Eric. Beloved wife of Gerald (Jerry). Dear mother of Cara and husband John Loncar, Toronto, Krista Grevstad, Vancouver, Peter Grevstad, Viet Nam, Andrea Nicefield, Sarnia and Melissa Grevstad, Toronto. Loving grandmother of Allegra and Jack Loncar. Sister of Mary McManus, Winnipeg, Chuck McManus and wife Maureen, Chicago, Theresa and husband Neil Katner, Alabama and Fr. Columba McManus, OSM, Quebec. Predeceased by parents John and Helena McManus and brothers John and Joseph. As a tribute to Lea, friends are requested to wear their favourite colours to funeral services. Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N.
