Miles, Mary Alice

Date of Death: September 11th 2003
MILES, Mary Alice - Peacefully at the Simcoe Manor, Beeton, on Thursday, September 11th, 2003. Mary Alice ( Montgomery ) formerly of Cookstown, was in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late George Henry Miles. Dear sister of Mabel Appleton and Margaret Damant. Predeceased by 5 brothers and 5 sisters. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. (Member of Orange Lodge Chapter #551 and the Crystal Chapter #50). Friends may call at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME, Clapperton and Worsley Streets, Barrie, on Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Service in the Chapel on Sunday, September 14th at 3:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Barrie Union cemetery on Monday at 3:30 p.m. A service under the auspices of the L.O.B.A. will be held on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Memorial donations to the Gideon Bible Society would be appreciated.

Moe, Iola

MOE, Iola "Grace" (nee Upcott), passed away on September 17, 2003, at the Windsor Regional Hospital -Metropolitan Campus at the age of 90 years. Born October 10, 1912. Late residence of Southgate Retirement Home in Kingsville. Daughter of the late Clara (Bostwick) and Jason Upcott. Dear wife of the late Basil Moe (June 1962). Dear mother of Etta Reder and husband John.Grandmother of Beverley Carnahan & husband John, Phil Reder and wife Linda, Lynn Robinet and husband Mike. Great gramma of Jason McMurren and the late Jeff McMurren (1994), step-grandmother of Matt Carnahan and wife Mellonie and step- great great gramma of Alex & Zackery Carnahan. Also survived by sister Gladys Oliver and husband Ted. Predeceased by sisters Beulah Rushmere, Beatrice Luke, Pat Smith and brother Clayton Upcott. She will be sadly missed by her dear friend Peter Vajda. Grace was a switchboard operator at Metropolitan hospital for many years and enjoyed several winters in Arizona on retirement. At Grace’s request there is to be only private family services. Cremation has taken place with interment at a later date. Stewart L Kennedy Funeral Home is entrusted with funeral arrangements.

Moore, Barry Charles

MOORE, Barry Charles (March 2nd, 1956 - September 13th, 2003) Suddenly, on September 13th, 2003, Barry tragically drowned while canoeing on Bass Lake, Orillia. He is painfully mourned and deeply missed by his loving wife Tracy, and their children Nathaniel, Adrienne, Michael, and Jeffrey. He was the beloved son of Dorothy & Oliver Hopkins and Howard Moore, all of Orillia, and grandson of Bessie Steels of Coldwater. He was brother of Dianne & Harvey Johnstone and Bruce Moore. He has left a hole in the hearts of his nieces and nephew; Nicole, Kerry, Keeley, Joshua, & Breanne, and his many cousins and friends. He is now in heaven, singing and laughing with Jesus.......for he knew:
"God is good, All of the time and All of the time, God is good."
Friends and relatives may call at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday & 2-4 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral Service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church, 300 Coldwater Rd. W., Orillia on Thursday afternoon, September 18th at 1 o'clock. If desired, memorial donations to the Gideons International or the Canadian Bible Society would be gratefully appreciated.

Moran, Helen, 75 years, passed away peacefully, on Sunday September 7, 2003 at the Sun Parlor Home for Seniors. Formerly of Pickwick Ave. Beloved wife of Prosser. Dear mother of Wendy Martynuik and Stephen, Burlington; John Moran and Cheryl Phipps, Kingsville; Terry Moran, Edmonton. Cherished and loved grandma of Sunnie, Jay, Sean, RaeLynn, Richard, Nancy, Sabrina, Stephanie and great grandma of Joshua and Terrian. Dear sister of Evelyn Mackenzie and James, Leamington; Jean Gonzalez and Mike, Puerto Vallarta. Nieces and nephews also survive. Predeceased by her parents John and Cordelia Williams. Helen was an active member of the First Baptist Church Leamington, a member of the Leamington Parkinson Group, a founding member of the Winnifred Pascall Mission Circle and was involved with C.G.I.T. at the First Baptist Church for 25 years. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home, 14 Russell Street Leamington (326-2631) on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service to celebrate Helen's life, from the First Baptist Church, Leamington on Thursday September 11, 2003 at 11 a.m. Pastor K. Duncan officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made by cheque to the Parkinson Society of Canada or First Baptist Church Building Fund would be appreciated.

Born in Edin, Scotland. Peacefully at home in his 74th year. Survived by his wife of 47 years Mamie (Mary) Macdonald. Father of Malcolm and Dorothy, Roanna and Ken, Sandy and Ines. Loving Papa of Tammy and her husband Shaun, Tanya, Tasha, and Amanda. Bill will be sadly missed by his sisters Vera and Bunty and his brother George and his wife Sandra, as well as nephew Thomas Frankish and his wife Pam. Predeceased by his parents Maryand Alexander his brother Alex and his sisters Mary and Jeanie. Private arrangements entrusted to the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM Funeral Home (Clapperton and Worsley Streets), Barrie.

DANDENO (Dandeneau), Paul Leonard
(P. Eng. and a WWII Veteran) - With deepest sadness, the family announces the death of Paul on August 20, 2003 at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe. Paul is the beloved husband of Kathleen, cherished dad of Mary Margaret, Peter and Jonda, loving brother of Meg, Milda and Beth and brother-in-law of Sister Mary Margaret Finn and the late Fathers Joseph P. Finn and John R. Finn and Dr. William J. Finn. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Paul's passion was Electrical Engineering. He was a member of I.E.E.E., and was the proud recipient of the Tesla Award and a member of the Newman Club Foundation. Upon his retirement from Ontario Hydro, he began a second career at the University of Toronto as a professor in the Faculty of Engineering. He will be greatly missed by colleagues, friends and family. During WWII he served as an Electrical Sub-Lieut with the R.C.N.V.R. Family and friends may call at the THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave., Port Dover, ON (519-583-1530), from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 2003. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Paul's life will be offered at St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church in Port Dover on Saturday, August 23, 2003 at 10 a.m., Father Pio Beorchia celebrant. Interment will be held Monday, August 25, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at Marymount cemetery , 5400 Hwy. #6, Guelph. Prayers will be said at the funeral home Friday at 8:30 p.m.
