Joanne Daquano - It is with great sadness, heavy hearts, yet joy that the family of Joanne Daquano announces her passing. Our Angel went home surrounded by loving family on Monday Sept 11, 2006. Husband Mike along with three beautiful children Dylan, Dean and Darcy will lovingly remember Joanne. Joanne will fondly be remembered by her mother Kay d’Entremont, sister Jeannine (Kevin) d’Entremont-Farrar, brothers Dan (Linda), Dave (Sheri) and Paul d’Entremont. She is predeceased and has been welcomed in heaven by her father Del. She will be missed so dearly by Mike’s parents Ted and Bev Daquano, and his sisters Kim (Michael) Zuraw, and Tina Daquano. Nieces and nephews Ryan, Caitlyn and Meaghan d’Entremont, Deni and Luc d’Entremont, Jamie, Erin and Cameron Farrar, Aurora and Darian Zuraw, will forever cherish her. All the rest of our extended family and wonderful array of friends who continue to support and amaze us will miss Joanne. Thank you to everyone for all of your thoughts and actions. Special thanks to the nurses of the Complex Continuing Care ward in the Georgetown Hospital, especially Lanni and Pat who provided care beyond the call of duty. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Paul Zeni. The dictionary needs your picture beside the definition of community doctor. Many thanks to all of the wonderful staff at the Oncology Clinic at Credit Valley Hospital along with Dr. Brian Higgins and Dr. Bob Sauls.
Friends will be received at the Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, north of Maple Ave., Georgetown 905-877-3631 on Thursday September 14th from 2-4 & 7-9pm, and on Friday September 15th from 3-5pm. Visitation at Holy Cross Parish Friday September 15th, from 7-9pm. Parish prayers will be held at Holy Cross at 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 224 Maple Ave., on Saturday September 16th at 10:00am. Interment Greenwood cemetery , Georgetown.
Donations can be made to The Weekend to End Breast Cancer or the Daquano Children’s Trust Fund.

George Dufty - Peacefully on Friday May 4th, 2012 at the Georgetown Hospital. George, in his 64th year, beloved husband of Beverley and loving father of Merilee. Proud grandfather of Jacob. Loved son of Dorothy and the late Henry Dufty. Dear brother of John (Marsha), Cliff (Joan) and Rose (Bob). Brother-in-law of Frank (Carmela), Francine and Linda. Predeceased by his brother Mike.

Sandra Greig - Peacefully in her sleep on Monday December 26th, 2005 at her home in Georgetown following a fight with ALS "Lou Gerhigs Disease". Sandra (nee Sproule), in her 65th year, loving mother of Whitney and her husband Duncan Sanders and Devon and her husband Terry Beauchamp. Proud grandmother of Justin, Carleigh, Erin and Adrienne. Dear sister of Wayne (Barb), Judy (Bill), Glen (Marie), Ken (Sandy), Grant, Ross, Barry (Lori) and Mark (Elaine). Predeceased by her brother Ron Sproule. Special thanks to Dr. Turnbull and his team, Dr. Ting, CCAC and all their support staff. Friends will be received at the J.S. Kenneth Weir "Ken" Reid - Reid, Kenneth Weir "Ken"- Peacefully in the presence of his family, on Wednesday January 26th, 2011 at his home in Georgetown. Ken, in his 82nd year, beloved husband of Lois for 53 years. Loving father of Cindy Phillips, Carol Reid (Shane Savard) and Diane Stoltz (Marlin). Proud grandpa of Jason and Krista Phillips and Andrew Stoltz. Dear brother of Mary Garbutt, James, Gordon, Joanne Stevenson and the late John (Myrtle). Ken will be sadly missed by his large family and many friends.

Douglas William Rock M.B. - Born April 13th, 1953 in Brantford, Ontario to John and Margaret Joyce Rock (nee Sterne) deceased. Died June 19th, 2006 surrounded by loving family members after a long and courageous battle with Cancer. Beloved husband of Emma (nee Kelly) and father of Rebecca and Lauren, he will be missed by family and friends including; brothers Peter (Judi) and Andrew as well as Nephews and Nieces David, Melanie, Rachel, Stuart & Carolyn. His family in the U.K. grieve at this time also. Educated in Brampton schools he graduated from Centennial College with a Degree of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and worked with Aircraft across Canada and around the world ending his career in Maintenance Control for Skyservice - he will be missed for his hard work and team spirit. Douglas was awarded the Medal of Bravery by the Governor General for his part in preventing the crash of a disabled helicopter and saving the life of the pilot. His life was enriched by the friendship of many close friends with whom he shared his love of boats and cottaging, and the generosity of his time, energy and considerable skills. Douglas spent many hours donating his time to others; including Skiing for disabled children, packing toys for the underprivileged and many other charitable organizations. We are all better people for having known him.
Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, North of Maple Avenue, Georgetown, 905-877-3631 on Friday, June 23rd, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held at Union Presbyterian Church, the corner of Old School Road and Winston Churchill Blvd. On Saturday, June 24th, 2006 at 11:00 am. Interment at Union Presbyterian Church cemetery following the service. Refreshments to be served at the church.
If desired, a charitable donation to Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills would be appreciated.

Elizabeth Walsma (nee Rosema) - passed away peacefully, at the Holland Christian Homes on Monday January 11th, 2010, in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late John Jakob Walsma. Loving mother of William (Dale) and Hank (Mary). Loved grandmother of Lana (Derek), Julie (Andrew), Lisa (Mark), Terri-Anne (Chuck) and John and 7 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Ina Vandermey (Osterloo) and the late Hein Rosema. Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Ali Rosema.
A private family graveside service was held at Brampton Memorial Gardens.

Kathleen Dresser - passed away peacefully, on October 6th, 2008 at the Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga. Kathy, loving mother of Sharon and Derek. Proud Grandma of Jessica and Robert. Beloved sister of Anne, Mark, Greg, Arthur, Grant and Joseph. Survived by her mother Marjorie Fisher. Kathy was a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse at Credit Valley and Toronto Grace Hospitals. Kathy was a strong believer and dedicated member of the Faith Gospel Tabernacle Ministries. Sadly missed by those whose lives she touched. “My sweet sweet mother.”

J. Elliott Glass - Suddenly as the result of a tragic accident, was taken to be with his Lord, on Friday January 14, 2011 at 34 years of age. Beloved son of John and Bonnie and treasured brother of Adriana MacLennan (Rod) and Sarah Perkin (David). Uncle of Olivia Perkin and Evangeline MacLennan. Jesus said "In this world you will have trouble but fear not, I have overcome this world".
Our hearts are broken but we will see you again.

Muriel Stubbs (nee Carrick) - Peacefully on Tuesday September 12th, 2006 at the Peel Manor, Brampton. Muriel, in her 85th year, beloved wife of Grant Stubbs for the past 66 years. Loving mother of Bryan (Evelyn), Lynn (Tess), Eloise Vanderzwan, Elaine Dillon (Andrew), Julie Inman (Mark) and Anthea Allaby (Jeff). Proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Phyllis, Dorothy, Doreen and Maureen. Predeceased by her sister Ivy and by her brother Jack.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 90 McLaughlin Rd. S., Brampton, on Saturday September 16th at 2:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers contributions to Watchtower Bible & Tract Society, P.O. Box 4100, Georgetown, Ontario, L7G 4Y4.

Michael Hanington Howard
HOWARD, Michael Hanington-Mike ended his courageous battle with cancer peacefully on Sunday the 13th day of April, 2003. He was the son of Marion Elizabeth Howard (Hanington) and the late John Brunswick Howard. Mike was the loving husband and best friend to Brenda (Davis). Father to Christopher (wife Kelly) and Jennifer. Joyful Gramps to Kaitlyn. Brother to John (Ann) and Peter (Debbie). Son-in-law to Jean Paterson Davis and Alvin Davis. Mike was employed by Shell Canada Products for 34 years leaving behind a group of lifelong friends. A Service of Thanksgiving and Celebration of Michael's life will be held on Saturday 26 April at 11 am in St. Mark's Presbeterian Church, 1 Greenland Rd. (Donway East/Lawrence Ave.), Don Mills. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Reception to follow in the Knox Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Magic Castle Children's Services Fund (Princess Margaret Hospital, 610 University Ave., M5G 2M9) or ask that you sponsor a child in a summer camp program of your choice. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of the 17th Floor and Palliative Care Units of the Princess Margaret Hospital for their Compassion and Care.

Acorn: Kathleen May (Kay) Peacefully at home, early on Thursday April 24, 2003, after a long fight with a brain Tumour. Loving wife of Ivan for over 57 years. Devoted mother of Eva-Jane (John) Lark and Carol (Ken) Cooke. Adoring grandmother of Kathleen Hazel (Katie) Lark, Ruth Alicia Lark and Jeannette Cooke. Death came just two days before her 81st birthday. Kay's passion, from the early fifties, was square and round dancing and she was greatly admired for her grace and skill. She was born in Milden, Saskatchewan, the daughter of Henry H. McCoy and Eva Jane Darling, from Glen Sutton, Quebec, who came west in 1904 as pioneering farmers. She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was predeceased by her sisters Marion MacDiarmid and Jean Brose. Survived by her brother Sidney G. McCoy (Evelyn) of Saskatoon and by a number of nephews and nieces. Loving brothers and sisters-in-law are Shirley and James Hamilton and Geraldine and William Johnson of Vancouver Island, and Glen and June Acorn, of Edmonton. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd. (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd.), on Sunday April 27, 2003 from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Monday from 10 a.m. until Memorial Service in the chapel at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of choice would be appreciated.

Dear grandfather of Kevin Hall and his friend Garth Chaplehow, Raymond Hall and his fiancée Jeannine Beauregard, Steve and his wife Debbie Allen, Christine and her husband Bernie Kennedy, Wendy and her husband Kevin Snider and Robert Gorman. Great grandfather of Nikka, Noel, and Toby Allen, and Samantha and Victoria Kennedy. Predeceased by granddaughter Heather Hall. Also predeceased by sisters Gladys Hackett and Winnifred (Winnie) Steele/Jeffries. Friend may call at the Tubman Funeral Homes Westboro Chapel 403 Richmond Road at Roosevelt on Tuesday from 10 am until 2:30 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday at 2:30 pm. ANDERSON, Norman Stanley Alton.AFC, C.D. Colonel (retired), R.C.A.F. passed away peacefully on December 6, 2003 at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital , Orillia at age 88. He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy Price in 1966 and is survived by his wife Willa Margaret (Billie) (nee Tribble). Beloved father of Dr. David (Bonnie) of Cambridge , Richard (Barbara) of Orillia , Jane (Donald Bartlett) of Dunnville, and Guy (Jacqueline) of Oshawa . He will be sadley missed by grandchildren Scott (Jennifer) and David (Michelle) of Cambridge , Dr Kelly of Fort Myers , Florida , Selena Napper (William) of Dunnville, and great grandchildren Taylor, and David of Cambridge and Rindy , Alexis and MacKenzie Napper of Dunnville. Loving step-father to John (Joyce), William (Catherine) of Barrie and Joan Dubinsky of Ottawa . As well as step-grandfather to Jennifer (Jeffrey) Simpson of Ottawa, Joseph (Erin) Dubinsky of Ottawa, John and Sarah Clarke of Ottawa, Chris (Julie) Tribble of Barrie, Trish Tribble of Barrie , Laura and Lindsay Tribble of Barrie, and step-great grandfather to Nathan, Holly Katie Lyn, Mackenzie, Malcolm, Owen, Peter, and Hannah. He was a career officer in the R.C.A.F., having been Commanding Officer at five air bases. He was a past secretary of the Barrie Fair Board and a long time member of the Rotary Club of Barrie. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. A memorial service will be held at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM Funeral Home (Clapperton and Worsley St. ), Barrie on Saturday December 13 at 3:00pm .
