Anderson: David Alexander

Date of Death: October 7th 2003
Anderson, David Alexander – With deep sadness, the family of David Alexander Anderson announces his death on Tuesday, October 7, 2003, at the age of 87 years, at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie. David was the much-loved husband of the late Audrey Severt. Left with many warm memories of happier times are daughters Bonnie Craw, June Holohan, Linda Anderson, Norine Keevil and Heather Dunn ; sons-in-law John, Bob, Wayne; grandchildren Jennifer and Barry, Dave and Trish, John and Michelle, Greg and Rebecca, Grant, Alicia and David, Colin and Loretta, Jeffrey and Trevor; great grandchildren Trent and Lennon; sister Jean Burnet. David was a member of the Barrie Amateur Radio Club and retired from Base Borden data centre. A sincere thank you to Dr. VanVolkingburgh, Dr. Zadra and all the wonderful people at RVH, CCAC, Paramed and With Open Arms who provided special care for David. Friends may call the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, Clapperton and Worsley St., Barrie on Thursday from 7:00pm until 9:00pm. Service in the chapel on Friday, October 10th at 11:00am. Interment Greenwood cemetery , Owen Sound on Friday at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in David’s memory to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Young, Steven, 32 years, Saturday, December 27, 2003 at home in Leamington. Beloved son of James and Miriam. Dear brother of Richard and Kim, Tracy and Steve. Loving uncle of Joshua, Vanessa, Brittany and Mitchell. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home 14 Russell Street, Leamington on Monday 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to celebrate Steve’s life from the Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 11 a.m. John Cats officiating. Interment Evergreen Memorial cemetery , Leamington. Memorial donations made by cheque to the Juvenile Diabetes Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Yarnold: Hazel

YARNOLD: HAZEL (nee MAY) peacefully at Ballycliffe Retirement Lodge, Ajax, on Wednesday, November 26th, 2003, in her 98th year. Hazel Yarnold, beloved wife of the late Robert Yarnold. Loving mother of Rita Lomax & husband Morton (predeceased) and step-son Frank Yarnold (predeceased). Also loved by her 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. The late Mrs. Hazel Yarnold will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St.,N., Orillia from 10 A.M. until time of funeral service in the chapel, Monday morning, December 1st at 11 A.M.. Interment ; St. Andrew's-St. James' cemetery , Orillia. If desired, memorial donations to the Charity of Ones Choice would be appreciated.

Wiles: Rita

WILES, Rita (Long time member of the A. N. A. F. Club # 365, Barrie) Peacefully, at Leisureworld Nursing Home, on Saturday, December 13, 2003. Rita (nee Desjardine) of Barrie in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Leslie (Les) Wiles. Rita is predeceased by sister Mary Partridge of Barrie, and brothers Frank Desjardine of Barrie, and Lorne Desjardine of Winnipeg. Sister-in-law of Dorothy Long of London, Ont. and Ruth Desjardine of Winnipeg, Man. Aunt of Lee Partridge of Barrie and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held at Barrie Union cemetery , on Wednesday, December 17, 2003. Memorial donations may be made to the Leisureworld Nursing Home Residence Fund through the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOMES (Clapperton and Worsley Streets), Barrie. A special thank you to the staff and friends at Leisureworld Nursing Home for all of their wonderful care and kindness.

Dear father of Ron and wife Linda, St. Catharines; Ken and wife Karen, Kingsville; Dennis and wife Carolyn, Leamington. Loving grandfather of David and fiancee Karen, Stephen and Cassandra. Dear brother of Mary Wiens, St. Catharines; Martha Wiebe and husband Jake, Gruenthal, Manitoba; Herta Susgin and husband Hubert, St. Catharines; Irma Neufeld and husband Cornie, St. Catharines. Rudy was a former administrator at the Leamington Mennonite Home. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home, 14 Russell Street, Leamington (326-2631), on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to celebrate Rudy’s life, from the Leamington United Mennonite Church, Oak Street on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at 2 p.m. Rev. Darrell Fast officiating. Interment Evergreen Memorial cemetery. Memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Leamington Mennonite Home “Project Rebuild” or to the U.M.E.I.

Loving grandmother to Kyle Weston, Robert, Christina, Justine and Max Longo, Travis and Christopher Mullen, Molly and Gertie Boyle. Sister to Giséle Gavan and the late Vincent Gavan, Roger Charbonneau, Guy and Kathy Charbonneau, all of Sarnia, Gerry and Françoise Charbonneau, Quebec. Predeceased by parents Emile & Marie Charbonneau and father & mother-in-law Robert & Leona Weston. Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, Thursday 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 noon Friday, January 9, 2004, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church (Rosedale at Ellwood), Sarnia. Long time dear friend of Aleda Bumstead–Brown of Owen Sound. Predeceased by two brothers Jerome and Wilfred Weber. A private family service will be held with interment in Woodland cemetery , Kitchener.

Sister of Jovana and Jaime, Sarnia. Granddaughter of Gordon & Phyllis Matthews, Corunna and James & Jovana Vella, Malta. Niece of Barb Thomson & family, Bonnie Bourassa & family, Ron Matthews all of Sarnia, Gord Matthews, Lethbridge, Alta. and Evelyn & Charlie Attard, Brampton. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles & cousins in Malta. A private funeral service for the family will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N. at a later date.
