Born in Douglas, Ontario she was the daughter of the late Patrick Enright and Catherine Whelan. Predeceased by husband Neil Harty, three brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Harty retired after many years as a caring and compassionate nurse at St. Joseph 's Hospital. She was a 50 year member of St. Peter's Catholic Women's League. Ellen was the devoted mother of Peter O'Neil & wife Jean, Warwick, Donna & husband John Snauwaert, Sarnia and Cathy & husband Lyle Williams, Sarnia. Loving grandmother of Jim & Carrie O'Neil, Heather & Les Szabo, Jennifer & Jamie McIntosh, P.J.
