& David, son & brother who passed away accidentally January 23, 1972.

FURNESS, Arnold (Arnie)

Arnold Furness age 83 years. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Stone. Loving father of Nonie (Nancy) Read and her husband Mike Powell of Deep River. Cherished grandfather of Meagan, Sarah, Robyn and Tess. Predeceased by a son Donald Furness, and a brother Herbert Furness and his wife Betty. A Graveside Committal Service will be conducted on Thursday, May 16 at 10:15 A.M. at the Deep River Community cemetery. In memoriam donations to the North Renfrew Long-Term Care Centre, Deep River would be gratefully appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River.

ROUSSEAU, Edward Armand

At Deep River and District Hospital on Sunday, May 12, 2002. Ed Rousseau age 86 years. Beloved husband of the late Jan Dufour, and cherished Companion of Frances Edwards of Deep River. Loving father of Elayne McDermid of Brampton, Edward Rousseau Jr. and his wife Barbara of Barrie, Eric Rousseau and his wife Tammy of Richmond, B.C. and Elyse (Mrs. Rodney Sheppard) of Port Elgin. Cherished grandfather of Evan Rousseau, Megan Kennedy (Steven), Hayley and Renton Sheppard and Teddy and Andy Rousseau. By request there will be no visitation. A graveside interment service will be conducted at a later date. Ed's family would like to also express their deep appreciation for the care and assistance of their father to the visiting nurses of the Community Care Access Centre; the staff at the Deep River and District Hospital, neighbours Claude and Helene Morel, Freda Boulton, Brian Slattery and Martin Harris. In memoriam donations to the Deep River and District Hospital (building fund) or the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated. Loving mother of Leah Rousseau and Bradley Rousseau (Vicky) both of Deep River. Dear sister of Grace Barrington (Don) of Deep River, Linda Parsons (Eric) of Winnipeg, Kathryn Cochrane (Norman) of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, David Thompson (Mary) of Whitby and Paul Thompson. Cherished sister in-law of Joan Benoit (George) of Gatineau, Elva Govreau (Laurent) of St. Omer, Gaspe and Kelvin (Bud) Rousseau (Patsy) of Rapides des Joachims, Quebec. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends called at the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be conducted in the Community Church, Deep River on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Deep River Community cemetery. Cherished grandfather of Kimberly (Mrs. Geoff Crampton), Sean O'Neill, Shannon (Mrs. Mark Borg), Kerry and Trevor Burwash and three great-grandchildren, Sarah, Jordan and Tyler Crampton. Dear brother of Louella Beaupre. Predeceased by three brothers Floyd, George and Leonard Mitchell and four sisters Kathleen, Dorothy, Belle and Hazel, Friends called at the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Deep River on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Deep River Community cemetery. In memoriam donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully appreciated.

At Ottawa, December 2, 2002, Vere B. Thompson, 92, mother of Pam Charron (Jean) of Mackey. For those wishing to make a donation, she established the Vere B. Thompson Endowment Fund of the Parkinson's Society of Ottawa. The family would also appreciate support for the Royal Ottawa Hospital: Bipolar Disorder research by the Geriatric Program.
