At Ottawa Hospital General Campus on Sunday, July 17, 2005. Cyril Walker age 78 years. Husband of Johanna Walker of Georgetown, Ontario. Also survived by three sisters. Predeceased by two brothers. By request there will be no visitation. Cremation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Deep River on Thursday, July 21 at 9:30 am. In memoriam donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River.

LABINE, Leo

Peacefully at the Pontiac Health Centre, Shawville Quebec on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at the age of 85 years. Leo Labine, formerly of Rapides des Joachims, P.Q. beloved husband of the late Imelda Labine (nee Maleau). Leo is survived by many nieces and nephews. Son of the late Olivier and Clara (nee Mallette) Labine. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters. Relatives and friends called at the Murphy Funeral Home, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Friday after 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, Fort Coulonge, P.Q. A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, July 8 at 11 o'clock in St. Peter's Church, Fort Coulonge, Quebec. Interment in the Parish cemetery. At Deep River and District Hospital on Monday, July 4, 2005. Ernie Kirkus age 75 years. Beloved husband of Joan Kirkus (Quinn) of Deep River. Loving father of Mark Kirkus and his wife Cheryl of Toronto, Diane St. Louis and her husband Matt of Barrie and Michael Kirkus and Lynn of Courtice. Cherished grandfather of Ryan and Leah Lecours-St. Louis. Loving brother of Joyce Leahy, and dear brother-in-law of Jean and George Rome all of Peterborough. Also survived by five nephews and a niece. Predeceased by a son Peter Kirkus and a sister Audrey Morris. By request there will be no visitation. Cremation. A Memorial Service was conducted in Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Deep River on Friday, July 8 at 11:00 A.M. HULBERT, Elizabeth Rollit

Elizabeth, beloved wife and companion of John Hulbert for 49 years, died peacefully in her sleep at the Ottawa General Hospital at 1:30 on the morning of July 4th 2005 in her 75th year. She is remembered with deep love and gratitude by her sons, Guy, Michael and Paul, by her daughters-in-law, Julia and Roseanne, and by her grandchildren Andrew, Laila, Stuart and Frances. She was dearly loved by her parents, the late Herbert H.G. Moody and Alice Taylor Moody, and the late Lorraine Code Moody, all of Winnipeg, and by her brother Paul Moody, and his wife Vivienne, and by her sister Casilda Jane Moody. She will be sadly missed by her childhood companions: cousins Geoffrey Pearson and Christopher Young of Ottawa, Patricia Hannah of Toronto, Elspeth Nickerson of Malibu CA, Sheila Zimmerman of Sechelt BC, and Catherine Graham of Glasgow Scotland, and by their respective families. Elizabeth held a music diploma from McGill University and a Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music in London, and was never happier than when teaching young students to play piano or the violin. She was a proud member of the Deep River Symphony Orchestra for many years. Friends from Ottawa or Deep River may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes at 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore and Baseline Road) on Friday July 8, 2005 from 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 9th at 2:00 p.m. in the Garden Chapel. Interment will follow at Pinecrest cemetery. Donations in Elizabeth's memory may be made to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation or to the Deep River Community Foundation.

LECLERC, Jennifer Anne

Born April 2, 1966 in Deep River, died July 1, 2005 suddenly, in her 39th year. Beloved daughter of Alexandra Vanderland, stepdaughter of Pierre Gagne, dear sister of Koby Lahaie (Andrew Lahaie), cherished mother of Kathleen, Kayla, Jamie, Julie, Matthew, Andrew and Mackenzie, special niece of Andy Zotov and loving granddaughter of Victoria Zotov. She is survived as well by several dear uncles, aunts and cousins on the Leclerc side of the family. A Memorial Service will be held in the Deep River Community Church at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 7th, 2005. Interment will take place in a private ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that donations be made in Jennifer's memory to: North York Women's Shelter, PO Box 77570, 592 Sheppard Avenue West, Toronto ON M3H 6A7. Suddenly at his residence on Saturday, July 2, 2005. Endre Aranyosi age 70 years. Beloved husband of Theresa Aranyosi (Chapeskie). Loving father of Andy Aranyosi and his wife Liesel of Ottawa and Brad Aranyosi and his wife Tamela of Deep River. Cherished grandfather of Zanda and Lizel Rodriguez and Robert Aranyosi and Taryn and Kirsten Aranyosi and two great-grandchildren Chantel and Kayla McPhee. Also survived by a brother Imre and a sister Maria both of Hungary. Predeceased by a brother Joseph Aranyosi. By request there will be no visitation. Cremation. Cherished grandmother of Ricky, Jennifer, Brayden, Sheehan, Joshua, Michelle, Karly and Adam, and two great-grandchildren Lucas and Noah. Dear sister of Gib Lukus and his wife Donna, Ed Lukus (Betty) and Eileen James and her husband Murray all of Deep River, Edith Ouellette (the late Aurel Ouellette) of Chalk River, Dianne Gratto and her husband Parker, Ren Lukus and his wife Joyce and Darlene Raditsas and her husband John all of Kingston and Pauline Craggs and her husband Dennis of Cobokonk. Predeceased by a son Dennis Laroche. Friends called at the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Deep River on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Followed by cremation. GOSSELIN, Mary Ethel

At the Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on Sunday, June 26th, 2005, at the age of 86 years, the former Ethel Bestward. Wife of the late Louis Alfred Gosselin, mother of Yvonne Brownlee of West Bank, B.C., Betty and her husband Scotty Andrews of Port Elgin, and Rae Gosselin of Selkirk, MB. Grandmother of six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her two sons Louis and Ian, sisters Rita Greene and Ida, brother Lorne Bestward, son-in-law Stan Brownlee, and by her parents Samuel and Mary Bestward. A graveside service was held at the Deep River Community cemetery on Thursday, June 30, 2005 with Father Ryan Holly officiating. Memorial contributions to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Deep River Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Funeral arrangements in the care of the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel at 519-832-2222 and the Valley Funeral Home in Deep River at 613-584-1783.

Predeceased by his parents, Merley Zinck and Marie Smelzer, and by three brothers, Garnold, Garfield and Angus Zinck, and will be sadly missed by close friends Colin Murphy and Harry Biggar, and all of Joe's friends. SHANNETTE, Mary Dorothy

At Carleton Lodge, Ottawa, on August 18th, 2005 in her 88th year. Born in Copper Cliff, ON, August 7th, 1917, Dorothy began her nursing career at the General Hospital, Pembroke. In 1945, while a nurse in Temiscaming, QC, she married James Matthew Shannette, Bank of Montreal Branch Manager. In 1951, the family moved to Deep River, ON, where Matt retired in 1968. After Matt's death in 1976, Dorothy remained in Deep River until 1986 when she moved to Pembroke and then to Ottawa in 1996. Serving the community through several volunteer organizations for many years gave Dorothy much satisfaction. Daughter of the late James Harold Dunlop and Frances Dowsley Legge. Predeceased by sisters Marion and Emma and by brothers Edgar, Walter, Thomas and James. Loving mother of Joan (John McClelland) Port Perry, ON, Paul, Sault Ste. Marie, ON and Ann, Ottawa. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Ian, Matthew, and Ann McClelland and by her relatives and friends. We know she is with the angels and always with us. A private service was held in Deep River, August 20th, 2005. Arrangements by the Neville Funeral Home, Pembroke.
