STEWART, Winnie (Clace)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Winnie Stewart (Clace). Winnie died peacefully at the Deep River District Hospital on December 9th, 2008. Winnie leaves behind her loving, caring husband, partner and soul mate Al Stewart. Al and Winnie shared thirty wonderful years together. Their love and kindness toward each other was a rare and special thing. Winnie was born March 28th, 1939 in Sioux Lookout, Ontario where she would spend many years before retiring in Stonecliffe, Ontario. Winnie loved to cook, go fishing, pick blueberries and entertain people with her humour. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Doug and Sherri Clace (Caledon East), daughter Barb Clace (Bolton), brother Bob Clace (Sioux Lookout), sister Lillian Sayers (Sioux Lookout), step-daughter Pat Starratt (Ignace), stepson Glenn Stewart (Sioux Lookout) and seven grandchildren Cody and Kayla Clace, Tyler and Justin Hodgeson, Jenna Hoppe, Ryder and Darby Starratt also two great grandchildren Ava and Sierra Hoppe. A very special thank you to the Medical Staff at the Deep River Hospital, who took care of her with tenderness and compassion during all her stays in hospital and in particular her final journey and to Dr. Tom Greenfield who always had time for a friend. Cremation, a graveside service will be held at a later date. If friends so desire a donation may be made to the Deep River Hospital Foundation through the Valley Funeral Home. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

On Tuesday, December 9, 2008 age 68. Son of the late Mervin and Rita McDonnell. Survived by his wife Margaret, his three children Russell ( Ulya Jensen ), Angela ( Brad Koskie ), and Erin (Geoff Postle) and grandchildren Jack, Sydney and Jessica. Born in Ottawa, Frank attended Royal Military College (class of '63). He spent four years in the RCAF during which time he met his beloved wife while on a posting in Churchill, Manitoba. He then received his doctorate in engineering from the University of Manchester. Frank spent 26 years with Atomic Energy of Canada in Deep River, Pinawa and Ottawa in various senior management roles. During this time he formed many wonderful friendships that endured over the years. Frank was an avid and gifted athlete. He played varsity football and basketball at RMC and was heavily involved in coaching his children's activities over the years. Running was one of his favourite activities and he participated in dozens of races in the Ottawa area over the years. During his retirement, he worked as a career counsellor, an activity he found both satisfying and rewarding. He was often called upon by friends and colleagues for his trusted guidance and advice. A loving husband and caring father who will be sadly missed. Funeral arrangements are in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, Ottawa. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, Ottawa on Saturday, December 13, 2008. WATSON, Margaret Elizabeth (nee Hall)

It is with great sadness that following an extended period of failing health Margaret Elizabeth Watson (nee Hall) passed away in the evening of Monday June 1st 2009 at Miramichi Lodge in Pembroke, Ontario at the age of 84 years. Margaret, Marg as she was known to everyone, was born in Calgary, Alberta on 19th of July 1924. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Vern who passed away in 1999. Marg spent much of her adult life bringing up her 4 sons in Deep River, Ontario before moving to Pembroke with Vern after he retired from Atomic Energy of Canada. She was very saddened by the loss of her youngest son, Ken and his wife, Mary, who were both killed in a tragic, single engine plane accident just 12 months ago on the 24th of May 2008. Margaret is survived by Tom, Wanda and grandchildren Matthew, Christine and Benjamin in New Zealand; Rick, Fran and granddaughters Julie and Carrie in Ottawa, Ontario and Whistler, BC; and Don, Katharine and granddaughter Heather in Nanaimo, BC. She also leaves 4 lovely great-grandchildren. In accordance with her wishes, Margaret will be cremated. Her ashes will be placed to rest with Vern, Ken and Mary in a private ceremony. The family would like to extend their very sincere appreciation and thanks to all the staff at Miramichi Lodge, in particular the wonderful supportive staff on 2A. On Friday, May 8, 2009 Jean passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, with her family by her side. Jean is survived by her loving husband Norman, children Chris, Greg and Cam, Loretta and grandchildren Zachary, Natasha and Reilly. A private service was held on May 12. Jean's many friends are invited to a celebration of her life that will take place on Sunday, June 14th at 1pm at the Moose Lodge in Oshawa.
