Lanctôt-Lamb, Stéphanie

It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Stéphanie, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 25. Loving wife of Michael Lamb. Cherished daughter, of Henri and Maggie Lanctôt. Dear sister of Julie and Chantal. She will be sadly missed by her grandparents, Edward Budzinski, Diane Coughlin and Gaston Lanctôt (Gilberte), her aunt Louise Lanctôt (Sylvio), her uncle Marc Lanctôt (Cathy), her cousin Jean Beauchamp, her parents-in-law Robert and Helen Lamb as well by many friends, and colleagues. Stephanie will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her charm, her zest for life, her ability to teach life’s lessons to all who knew her, her world travels and her love for her husband, her family and all of whom she touched during her difficult journey. Relatives and friends will be received at Heritage Funeral Home, 2871 St. Joseph Blvd., Orléans, on Thursday, December 2, 2010 from 2-5 p.m and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Sainte-Marie Church (Orléans), 4831 Innes Road., on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. Burial at St-Joseph cemetery. Folliott, Vera

On Sunday, November 21, 2010 in Ottawa, Ontario, Vera passed away peacefully. Beloved wife of the late W.C. (Bill) Folliott (1986) and mother of her dear daughter Mary LYNN Carruthers (2000) and infant son, Charlie (1952), she was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Mary Bradley and her brothers, Harold (1981) and Eric (in infancy), all of St. John’s Newfoundland. Survived by Lynn’s daughters, Chandra (Paul) Tyson and their children, Kayla, Lindsey, Ashton and Seth, all of Beachburg, ON, and Stacey Carruthers and her daughter, Devin, of Kingston, ON.

Vera was born in St. John’s on June 12, 1918. She attended Prince of Wales College there, followed by further studies in New York City. During WWII, she met Lieut. W.C. (Bill) Folliott, R.C.N.V.R.. They were married in St. John’s on December 2, 1943. As a war bride, she moved to Bill’s home town of Winnipeg. In 1983, they moved to Ottawa to be near Lynn and her family.

Vera was proud of her Newfoundland heritage and her adopted home of Winnipeg where she was very active in the Junior League and in fundraising for the Balmoral Hall School for Girls Mother’s Auxiliary during Lynn’s years at BH (1951-63). Vera was a talented homemaker, seamstress and cook. She loved to golf and tell people about her ‘hole-in-one’. Later in life she maintained her interest in sports and current affairs, despite deafness and other health problems.

According to her wishes, Vera was cremated. A graveside service with family and friends will take place at Pinecrest cemetery , 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, on Monday, November 29 at 11.00 a.m. (meet in the main building at 10.45). Elle était la mère chérie de Jean-Pierre (Nicole Bédard) et de Luc (Lucie Gauthier) ; la grand-maman adorée de Stéphane et Éric ; la sœur de Cécile Madore (feu Laurier), Rhéa LeBrun (feu Sylvio), feu Alphonse (Aline McCauley), Rodrigue (Simone Éthier) et feu Marcel (Julienne Leclair) ; la belle-sœur de feu René (feu Berthe Lefebvre), feu Eva (feu Wilfrid Lajeunesse), feu Albert (feu Anna Giroux), feu Noël (feu Evelyn Boyer), feu Edmond (feu Catherine Barnaby), feu Léo (feu Fernande Boyer), feu Maurice (feu Jacqueline Guérard), Marcel (feu Alice Crête), feu Rita (feu Roger Desjardins), Charles (Fleurette), feu Wilfrid (feu Laurencia Lalonde), feu Hervé (Noëlla Côté) et Joseph (Raymonde) (feu Thérèse Beaulne). Elle laisse également dans le deuil plusieurs neveux, nièces, cousins, cousines et ami(e)s. Nous tenons à remercier le personnel de l’hôpital Montfort pour leur dévouement. Fournier, Gerard Joseph

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Gerard Joseph Fournier on Friday October 29th in his 66th year. Gerard leaves behind his loving wife, Barbara Pigeon-Fournier. He will be sadly missed and always remembered by his loving daughters from his first marriage, Suzanne (John) Luimes and Jeannette (John) Valenzuela; his six grandchildren, Jesse, Jacob and Seth Luimes, James and Jessica Valenzuela and Kage Forcier. His siblings Pauline Beaudoin, Rene (Laurette) Fournier, Diane (Bob) Tierney and Armand (Ginette) Fournier. He is predeceased by his parents Rodolphe and Emérilda Fournier and his sisters Cecile, Lucienne, Hélène and Jeannette. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. We would like to thank the staff and the doctors at the Ottawa General for the excellent care and compassion they extended to Gerard during his fight with cancer. Daughter of the late René Villeneuve and the late Noëlla Demers and wife of Yvon Perrier for 30 years. After a courageous battle against cancer, Francine passed away into the hands of God on Saturday, October 16, 2010. She leaves behind her loving husband, Lawrence (Larry) Guilbeault, her children, Michelle (Steve), Patrick (Martine) and Rowland, as well as her stepchildren, Sandra, Justine (Mark) and Steve. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren: Aaron, Sébastien, Geneviève and Yannick, Loving daughter of Lorenzo and Thérèse Cloutier. Also left behind are her brothers and sisters, François, Suzanne, Marcel (Andrée) and Danielle, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will be fondly remembered by many aunts and uncles as well as cousins and friends. Visitations will be held at Heritage Funeral Home, 2871 St. Joseph Blvd., Orléans, on Tuesday, October 19, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm and on Wednesday, October 20, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Buck, Karen

passed away peacefully on August 18th after a long illness. Karen was 67. Karen served in the Royal Canadian Navy as an oceanographer at naval bases on the East Coast. She then settled in Toronto to work for Ontario Hydro in positions of increasing responsibilities until she retired in 1993. She also served as a Naval Reservist at HMCS York and was an officer in charge of a Naval Cadet unit. As a result of that service she was awarded the Centennial Medal. A talented golfer and curler, Karen was very active in local and national golf and curling associations. Karen will be sadly missed by her father Ronald Frederick Buck, sisters Andrea Berube (Jacques), Deborah Rathburn (Richard), brothers Kevin (Anne), Keith (Donna), her 10 nieces and nephews, her 5 great nieces and nephews and her many friends. Karen was predeceased by her beloved mother Jean Thorne Harding in 1999. A service and celebration of Karen's life will be held at 10:30 on August 28th at the Heritage Funeral Home in Orleans, Ontario and she will rest next to her mother at the Belleville cemetery , Belleville, Ontario. Karen's family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Sarsfield Colonial Home who provided Karen with loving care over the last several years.
