Laurent Charette, PhD passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 27th, 2010 at the age of 86 years with his family by his side. He was the son of the late Émile Charette and the late Marie Bérubé, beloved husband of Laurence (nee Roy), loving father of Monique (Maurice Leclerc), Robert (Christine Paradis), Carmen (Gregory Young) and Marie-Claire (Christian Boutin). He also leaves 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, his siblings Sr. Paulette Charette and Roger Charette (Monique Grandbois), as well as many nephews, nieces and friends. He was predeceased by 12 siblings. Laurent pursued his passion of agriculture through a distinguished career as a researcher with Agriculture Canada in Kapuskasing Ontario (1948-1962) and then as professor and head of the Animal Science Department at Laval University (1977-1981). He later joined the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) (1977-1981) .He dedicated himself to several associations throughout his life and was co-founder of Place Beauséjour in Orleans. He was proud of his accomplishments and had a wonderful life. He will remembered for his devotion to his wife and his family, his generosity and his delighftful sense of humour.
