Following a lengthy battle with cancer, Kevin passed away peacefully at his Ottawa home on Sunday, March 23, 2003. Born in Cork, Ireland on November 13, 1939 he emigrated to Canada in 1963. As a young man he was educated at Jesuit College of Clongowes Wood in County Kildare, later graduating from University College Dublin. For most of his professional career Kevin worked in the telecommunications field, first with Northern Telecom and then as a private consultant. Kevin is best characterized as a person with a tremendous thirst for knowledge and love of learning. This was never more evident that in the final weeks of his life as he debated the world around him and as always, rendered thoughtful opinion. He was a compulsive crossword enthusiast, a voracious reader, a critical listener of music, and his love of travel prompted visits to various locations around the globe. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Toronto), sisters Detta, Baroness O'Cathain (England) and Mary-Claire Ward (Toronto), brother-in-law Sandy, and nephews David and Robin. He was predeceased by his father Caoimhghin and his mother Margaret. At Kevin's request there will be no funeral service. The family would like to thank the staff at the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre, May Court Residential Hospice, Cathy Langtry of the VON, special nurses Diane Turner, Charlene "Charlie" O'Dougherty and Marg Graham; Doctors Neil Rogers, Louise Coulombe and Claire Kendall. A memorial service will take place at Hulse, Playfair & McGarry Funeral Home, 315 McLeod St., Ottawa on April 5, 2003 at 2 p.m. followed by a reception at the Mayflower Pub on Cooper St. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Kevin's name would be appreciated.

Dear brother of Marino and Wanda. Born in Italy in 1924, Alfred emmigrated to Switzerland, married and came to Canada in 1952. He made many friends in the worlds of politics, insurance and real estate and will always be remembered for his strenght of character, diplomacy and good humour. She was a resident of the Town of Mount Royal, Quebec for sixty years. The wife of the late Herbert Allen Reilly. Loving mother of Patricia (the late George Richardson, late Edin Hunt), Judith (David Jessup), David (Marie Thérèse Toupin) and Paul (Helen). Cherished grandmother of Susan, Nancy, Joan, Peter, Andrea, Karen, Katherine, Thomas, Allen and Sarah. Great grandmother of ten. Predeceased by sisters Marjorie, Frances, Winifred, and Lillian. Retired RCAF Flight Engineer Peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2003 Stan Smith passed away in Orleans at the age of 54. Husband of June Smith, he will also be forever in the hearts of his sons Dwayne, Joey (Denise Smith) and Jake, his siblings Muriel (John Fletcher), Ken (Jan Roy) and step-mother Isabel Smith. Predeceased by brother Alan, his father Ralph and his mother Joan. Stan will be dearly missed by all, especially those whose hearts he touched. June 21, 1916-March 28, 2003 Former employee of The Bay At his residence, la Pension du Bonheur, in Alfred at age 86 years. Son of the late Eugène Tessier and Clara Lalande. He joins his daughter the late Marjolaine (Guy Carisse). He leaves his daughters Marguerite (Gaston Bérubé), Claudette (Jacques Pilotte) and Pierrette and their mother Germaine (née Régimbald). He is also survived by several grandchildren, his siter Aurore and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 2 brothers Gérald and Ovila Tessier. Devoted member of the congregation of Christ Church Cathedral in later years, and one of the founding families of the former St. Paul's Anglican Church (Overbrook). Former member of the Centennial Choir and the Ottawa Choral Society and an ardent opera lover.
