Silwanowicz - Sabena of St. Thomas, on Thursday, December 19, 2002, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in her 78th year. Beloved wife of the late Michael Silwanowicz (June 9, 2000) and dearly loved mother of Norman Silwanowicz of Vancouver and Irene and Anita Silwanowicz, both of London. Also survived by a sister and two brothers in Poland. Sabena was born May 25, 1925 in Poland, coming to Canada in 1948. She was a member of Holy Angels’ Church. A private family service was held Friday. Interment in Holy Angels’ cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the charity of choice. Potter - Gerald “Jerry” of St. Thomas, on Thursday, December 19, 2002, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends. Dearly loved husband of Vicki (Groves) Potter and much loved father of Ben, Luke, and Joe Potter. Loved son of Francis “Bud” and Mary (Acton) Potter of St. Thomas. Dear brother of John and his wife Anne Potter of Blenheim and Susanne and her husband Ralph Lindsay of London. Dear son-in-law of Dorthea Groves of St. Thomas and dear brother-in-law of Jeff and Shelly Groves of London and Linda and Tony Caruana of St. Thomas. Special uncle of Nicholas, Brent, Connor, Olivia, and Lauren. Very special friend to Doug Noviss and Brian Preston. Jerry was born February 3, 1949 in London. He has resided in St. Thomas most of his life and worked for Presstran Industries for the past 15 years. Bromley - At the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Friday, February 21st, 2003. James Hall Bromley of St. Thomas in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Gloria (Wheeler) Bromley and dearly loved father of Peter and his wife Lois Bromley, St. Thomas; Linda McGuire, London; Julie and her husband Peter Lockwood, St. Thomas, Malcolm and his wife Cindy Bromley, Toronto and Lisa and her husband Richard Alvaro, St. Thomas. Dear brother of Bessie and her husband Ron Gough, England and dear brother-in-law of Ruth Bromley, Port Stanley. Predeceased by three brothers Tom, Harry and John and by a son-in-law Bob McGuire. James is also lovingly remembered by eight grandchildren Amanda, Melissa, Craig, Christopher, Alynn, Josh, Christie Ann and Olivia and by a niece Lynn Bromley and her son Dana. James was born in England, June 9th, 1917 to the late Ben and Lilly (Whittaker) Bromley, he had served overseas with the British Army during World War II from 1939 through to the end of the war, in 1977 he was the recipient of the Queen (Silver) Jubilee Medal, he was a devoted employee at the St. Thomas Psychiatric Hospital and had also worked for many years as a Baker. He was a director of O.P.S.U. and had also acted as Union President and was also a member of St. Anne’s Church. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas until Monday morning and then to St. Anne’s Church where Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment Holy Angels' cemetery. Visitation Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Diabetes Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian National Institute for the Blind.
Walch - Peacefully at his late residence Cyril Lawrence Walch of R.R. #3 Shedden, Thursday February 20, 2003 in his 88th year. Beloved son of the Late Gladys (Jackson) and William Walch. Dear brother of the late Earl Walch. Predeceased by a son-in-law Anthony “Tony” Dubyk (1998). Predeceased by his brother Clarence and his wife Grace Hagerty. Dear brother-in-law of Dan and Delphine Honey of Windsor. Albert was born in Melbourne, Ontario, October 3, 1920, the son of the late Louis and Gladys (Annett) Hagerty. He resided most of his life at R.R. 1 St. Thomas and was a retired farmer. Albert attended Knox Presbyterian Church, Fingal, was a Past Master of Warren Masonic Lodge, 120 A.F. and A.M., Fingal. He served in W.W.ll in England and was a member of Melbourne Legion. Ronald Teetzel of St. Thomas. Dear brother of Bev and Ross “Tiny” Teetzel, both of Shedden and the late Archie and Herman Teetzel. Loved grandfather of Jeffrey, Angela, Rick, Rob, Amy, Nathan and Correen and great grandfather of A.J., Breanna and Ronin. Longtime fellow employee and friend of Don “General” Grant and Doug “Doc” Mitchell. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Howard was born in Shedden, September 4, 1922, the son of the late Fred and Mary (Waugh) Teetzel. He was retired from the St. Thomas Psychiatric Hospital and also worked for Ruckus Fencing. He was a member of the Centennial Sports Club and a former member of Branch 41 of the Royal Canadian Legion.
