Peacefully passed away February 4, 2004. Mom died at home surrounded by her loving family, who meant everything to her. Her journey on earth began in Dinnington, England in 1925. She came to Canada at the end of WWII as the bride of her ex-husband Jack Service (deceased 2000). She will be forever loved by their 5 children: Valerie Ethier (Steve), Marylyn Service-Peters (Bob), Robert Service (Kathy), Jane Mowbray (Cochrane), Mike Service (Pat). She will also be dearly missed by her 10 grandchildren: Dwayne, Chantal, Dawn, Rachelle, Jenny, Jordon, Brian, Christopher, Blake, Caitlin and 5 great-grandchildren: Nicole, Katrina, Lucas, Tucker and Riley. Mom also leaves behind her in-laws Bill and Betty Service, Hal Service and their children. Her family warmly thanks Dr. V. Hurdon and L.P.N. Ann Hunter, for their support in helping Mom to continue to live in the comfort of her home. Beloved son, of the late Benjamin and Margaret "Maggie" (Presley) Smith of Shawville, Quebec. Beloved husband of the late Phyllis (nee Hudson). Loving brother of Dorothy (Deeks) of Ottawa, Margaret C. Smith of Shawville, and the late Jean (Gallaher) of Winchester. Brother-in-law of Joan and Harold Halpenny of Smiths Falls. Beloved uncle to nieces Phyllis Deeks of Ottawa, Carol Jackson of Ottawa, Elaine Paradise of California, Maureen Halpenny of Portland, Ontario, Eunice-Jean Theil (Ron) of Milton, Ontario and nephew Gregory Halpenny (Heather) of Whitby, Ontario and many great-nieces and nephews. As a member of the Wesleyan Church since 1933, Walter felt called to the ministry and was ordained. Since 1951 he served as a minister with the Wesleyan Church in Waltham, Quebec, Newington, Madoc and North Bay, Ontario. After his retirement he continued his service to the Lord as Chaplain to Leisure World and Treasurer to the Wesleyan Church in North Bay and Secretary for the Central Canada District of the Wesleyan Church. On February 4, 2004 at the age of 53, somewhat unexpectedly but peacefully, with her dear sister Wuanita by her side as always. Sandra, aka Sandy...Sarah...Bib...will be fondly remembered as a miracle person (an angel) for fighting all odds. Her personality, her strength, her sense of humor and her preservation of all life (including Mr. Mouse) remains with us forever. Sandra is predeceased by her parents Leona (nee Campbell) and Dr. Wilson Wallingford. She is survived by her uncle Lyal Campbell of Plantagenet, Ira Campbell of Owen Sound and her cherished sister Wuanita Wallingford. Remembered so fondly by friends and cousins Dale Wallingford and Joy (Heidi and Carly), Rhoda, Taffy, Kati, Lois, Larry, Francesca, Judy, Sylvie, Gerry, Diane, Del, Graham and Helen, Terry and Claire, ...
