At his residence on Sunday, March 26, 2006 at the age of 92. Predeceased by his wife Molly. Father of Ledford George, Burtt and Mary-Jo. Grandfather of Christine, Vanessa, Patrick, Jenny, Jessica and Gregory. Great-grandfather of Sam. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, he graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 1935 with a degree in electrical engineering. During the Second World War he held a wide variety of appointments, both on the staff and in command of Royal Canadian Engineer Units, and served in Italy and North West Europe. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, March 31, 2006 at 10 a.m. Private cremation. Born in Clarendon Township, Pontiac County, Quebec, November 12, 1910. Died in Ottawa, April 1, 2006. Sarah was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, William Henry Machin, in 1996. She is survived by her son William Machin, St. Philips, Newfoundland and daughter Jean (David) Sheppard, Pincher Creek, Alberta, and six grandchildren, John Machin, David Machin, Michael Machin, Robert Machin, Genevieve Machin, Kathleen Sheppard, five great grandchildren, her sister Doris Fleming, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, on Friday, April 7, 2006, from 1:30pm until Service time in the Chapel at 2:30pm. Dear brother of Jack (Joyce) and the late Ronald “Babe”. Suddenly on March 27, 2006 at the age of 51. Beloved wife of 23 years to Henry Matthews of Navan. Cherished daughter of Jean-Jacques and Mariette and the late Anita Dumais. Adored sister of Jocelyne, Francine and Suzanne (Don St. Denis). Dear daughter-in-law of Hazel (late Richard Matthews) and best friend to Diane Melski and Joanne Burden. She will be missed by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and co-workers at Loeb where she worked for over 25 years. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Thursday, March 30, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Mary Anglican Church, Navan on Friday, March 31, 2006 at 11 a.m. The Family would like to thank Dr. Gauthier, Dr. Lavoie and the 4th floor S nursing staff of the Montfort Hospital for their care and compassion as well as to Pascale Rinfret for her support during this time. Peacefully on April 9th in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late Norman Kitson McIvor. Predeceased by her parents Robert George Mann and Adella Rose Lytle Mann. Predeceased by sisters Margaret, Della and Agnes (Bobbe), also brothers Watson, James, Jack, Bob, Sam and Herb. Cherished mother of Mary Lou McIvor and Jeanie Maennling (Nic) and dear sister of Lila Dore. Left to celebrate her life are grandchildren Cathy Thompson (Jason) of Toronto, Lisa Sterritt and Betty Jean Tyner (Ross) of Armstrong, B.C. and Matthew (Shelley Woods) of Burlington, Ont. Great Grandchildren are Liam, Esme and Anna of Armstrong and Marissa of Burlington. As well, many Lytle and Mann nieces, nephews, cousins and their offspring. Elizabeth studied art in Winnipeg in the 1920’s and in the Depression turned to hand colouring photography to make a living. Moving to Ottawa she worked at several photography studios before marrying Norman and becoming a full-time Mom. Norman’s death, the result of a workplace accident at the City of Ottawa Water Filtration Plant at Lemieux Island, necessitated Elizabeth’s return to the workforce. She worked days at the Ottawa Civic Hospital and often spent evenings at home tinting photographs to augment her income. She purchased a little house in the West End where she was able to coax a vegetable garden to grow in rock hard clay soil. Elizabeth taught her children to love literature, art, music and nature. Elizabeth enrolled in The Ottawa School of Art at the age of 65. She exhibited paintings at Ottawa City Hall with a group of seniors when she was in her seventies. As recently as 2005,Elizabeth contributed to paintings that resulted in colourful cards still being sold to aid Alzheimers patients at the Peter D. Clark Centre. To remember Elizabeth, please plant a tree, or a bush, or a flower in your garden. Donate to the Friends of the Experimental Farm or the Ottawa Food Bank. Born in Ottawa July 9th, 1922. Peacefully in hospital on Friday, April 7th, 2006 in her 84th year. Beloved wife of Norman McLean. Dear mother of Dr. James G. Anderson and Carol Anderson. Loving sister of H. James Plant (Sherrie). Sadly missed by step-children Tom (Judy), Jane (Guy) and nieces Marilyn (Andy Burans), Barbara (Graham Clarke) and Shirley Plant. Sadly remembered by grandchildren, grand-nephews and grand-nieces. Isabel was educated at Ottawa Ladies’ College and graduated with an honour degree from Queen’s University. She was involved with the I.O.D.E. for many years and was a member of the Royal Ottawa Golf Club. She was a noted creator of beautiful china and worked industriously when in residence at her beloved cottage in Norway Bay. Peacefully, with family at his side, on April 5, 2006 in his 71st year. Beloved and cherished husband of Janice Mellor. Predeceased by his first wife Margaret. Dearest father of Todd, Lori (Keith) and Kirk (Darlene). Loving “Bompa” to P.J., Justin, Megan, Kelsey, Daniel and Amanda. Dear brother of Lois, Barry and Gary (Margaret Anne). He will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. An Ottawa native, Bob was a well known newspaper man, writing for the Ottawa Citizen, Ottawa Journal, Ottawa Today and most recently as news editor for The Low Down To Hull And Back News. He was also a proud member of the National Press Club for 30 years, and served as a Director. An avid skier, Bob was active in the Canadian Ski Patrol and for many summers sailed in the Thousand Islands. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at the Elizabeth Bruyere Centre and Ottawa Hospital, with special thanks to Palliative Care doctors John Seely and Sandra Legault. Suddenly in hospital on March 29, 2006 at the age of 74. Predeceased by parents Arnold and Alta Moffatt and by brother Richard. Survived by brothers Robert (June) of Nanaimo, BC and James (Peggy). According to Allan's wishes, private cremation and interment will be held at Dales cemetery , Cumberland at a later date.
