Johnson - Orville C. at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, on Thursday, April 17, 2003. Orville Johnson, in his 96th year, dear husband of the late E. Yvonne (Stevenson) Johnson. Dearly loved Father of William W. Johnson and his wife Patricia of Port Stanley, Dr. Gary G. Johnson and his wife Gail of Ottawa, and M. Cheryl and her husband Dr. Kenneth Muxlow of London. Loved Grandfather of Kimberly Johnson and her husband Norman Feaver, Craig Johnson and his wife Susan, Victoria Westaway and her husband Larry, Brooke Johnson and her fiancé Michael Moore, Christopher Johnson, Scott Johnson, and Emily Johnson, and Great Grandfather to Andrew Reid Westaway, John MacIain Westaway, Tara Margaret Johnson and Angus William Johnson. Brother of the late William Gordon Johnson of St. Thomas and the late John Johnson of Union. Born in Union, Ontario, November 10, 1907, he was the son of the late Herbert E. Johnson and M. Grace (Fulton) Johnson. Orville had lived all of his life in the St. Thomas area, and was the owner of the former H.E. Johnson and Son Lumber Yard. He retired September 1st, 1952. Funeral service was held at the R.E. Allen Funeral Chapel, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas, Saturday afternoon. Interment was made in Union cemetery. Donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association or St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Port Stanley would be appreciated by the family.
Sandercott - On Sunday, April 20th, 2003 at Parkwood Hospital. Donald William Sandercott after a lengthy battle with cancer in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Velda (House). Predeceased by his first wife of 43 years, Margaret (Weyler) (1991). Beloved father of Lynne (Richard) Aylsworth, Union; Doug (Sharon) Sandercott, Guelph and Marianne (Bruce) Pope, London. Dear bother of Bob (Jean), Grand Bend; Harold Sandercott, St. Catharines and Shirley Mitchell, London. Loved by grandchildren Jennifer (Jeff) Yurek, Rob Aylsworth, Dawn and Steven Sandercott, Brian and Becky Pope. Brother-in-law of Grant (Helen) Weyler. Fondly remembered by Larry (Laura House) Mitchell and Kelsey, and Darlene House (Peter McPhedran) Haley and Jaimie. Predeceased by his parents Wellington (Fredricka Gossman) and brothers Wreford, Ken and Orville. Don was a well-known Optician in St. Thomas for many years. He served overseas with the R.C.A.F from 1944 through 1946. He was a past member of the St. Thomas Curling Club, St. Thomas Golf and Country Club, the Kinsman Club and the Kiwanis Club. He was a Master Mason and a Shriner. Don enjoyed many happy years at the family cottage near Grand Bend and in retirement enjoyed his home in Naples, Florida. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Celebration of Don's Life will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Church in St. Thomas. Cremation has taken place and a private interment of the ashes will be made at Elmdale cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Parkwood Veterans Hospital would be appreciated.
Brady - Thomas Vincent of Glanworth, on Monday, April 21, 2003, at his residence, in his 56th year. Dearly loved father of Amy and her husband Chris Jewell of Bright’s Grove and Joe Brady and his fiancee Kristy Lichty of Woodstock. Predeceased by an infant son Patrick. Dear brother of Jim and his wife Sylvia Brady of Aylmer, Marie Anne and her husband Bill Clark of St. Thomas, John and his wife Bonnie Brady of Lambeth, Martin and his wife Judy Brady of British Columbia, Terry and his wife Tammy Brady of Glanworth, Theresa and her husband Mike Lane of Kingsville and Gerald Brady of Glanworth.

Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas until Thursday morning and then to Holy Angels’ Church where Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Holy Angels’ cemetery. Beloved wife of the late Norman Monteith and dearly loved mother of Wanda and her husband Lawton Brown of Alabama and the late Philip Monteith. Predeceased by two brothers Earl and Fred Dollery.
