Eric, cherished husband of the late Eva McPhail (Allen), passed away on June 21, 2008 at West End Villa at age 84. Devoted father who will be sadly missed by his daughters Mary Paquette (Moe), Christina Sadler (Carl) and Connie Green (Roy). Precious grampa of Cathy, Natalie, Scott, Robert, Aaron, Jordan, Ross jr., David, Tyson, Mason and Ashley. Special great-grampa of Jesse, Becky, Cody, Sammy, Emma, April, Holly, Sean and Caleb. Eric will be mourned by his wonderful friends at West End Villa, Gloucester Senior Center and Good Companion Centre. Our family wishes to express sincere thanks to the staff at West End Villa especially the Fourth Floor for their loving care and friendship and to those dear and special friends who gave such joy to our Dad. Friends are invited to visit the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road on Wednesday, June 25th from 2:00 pm until the service in the Chapel at 4:00 pm. Reception to follow in the McGarry Family Reception Centre. Interment at Beechwood cemetery at a later date. On Monday June 2nd, 2008 in Ottawa in his 81st year. Survived by his beloved wife of 30 years Claire (nee Pagé), son Rick (May), grandchildren Corey and Shauna, brother Frank (Wollene), sisters-in-law Denise Caron, Louise Pagé and his nieces, nephews and their children. Predeceased by his first wife, Belle, brother Allan, sister Joyce. Peter served Canada with QOR of Canada, PPCLI and CF in Germany, Cyprus, Saskatoon, Calgary, Victoria and Ottawa where he retired. He was a Shriner and a life member of the Gizeh Temple and also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Bells Corners Branch 593. On June 9, 2008, Jack Passed peacefully away in the Ottawa Hospital - General Campus, with his family by his side. He was in his 93rd year. Dearly beloved husband for 67 years of Mary (Johnston). He will be sadly missed by his children Kristin, Linda Drinkle (Harvey), Bruce (Jocelyne) and Richard (Diane). Much-loved grandfather Andrew (Trish), Karen, Natalie and Jonathon (Anique). Loved great-poppa to Tanica and Ashley. Jack is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Stanley and Florence, brother John and sister Alice Baxter. A Memorial Service for Jack will be held at Emmanuel United Church, 691 Smyth Road on Thursday, June 12th at 11 a.m. A reception will follow in the Church Hall. A private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to CHEO would be appreciated. The family wishes to express thanks to the staff of the ICU, Seventh Floor West, and Fourth Floor West for their care, humour and many kindnesses during his lengthy stay.
