PINSKY, Ryna (nee Levin). It is with great sadness that the family of Ryna Pinsky announces her passing at the age of eighty-six, on Friday, November 21, 2014. Devoted wife of the late Abe Pinsky. Beloved mother of Deborah Pinsky and Erica Pinsky. Cherished grandmother of Abee Pinsky-Haiduga. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Barbara and the late Bernard Margolis, Allan and Elinor Levin, Mervyn and the late Ricki Levin, the late Gloria and the late Harvey Shatz; sister-in-law of Richard (Mickey) and the late Naomi Davine, the late Rose and the late Sonny Blauer. She will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Ryna engaged life to its fullest. Intellectually curious with a thirst for knowledge and an avid traveller, Ryna traversed the globe: from China in the days of Mao to the Arctic Circle and the Galapagos islands. She taught English for many years at McGill University, Concordia University and Dawson College. Her latest passion was playing golf at Hillsdale Golf Club where her late husband Abe was a founding member. The family wishes to thank the medical and administrative staff at Mount Sinai Hospital for the compassionate care Ryna received at the end of her life. Proud “Great-Baba” of Aidan, Russell and Sabrina; Samson, Rachel and Ryan. Sister of the late Joseph Weinstein, the late Shulamit Lazar, the late Mula Weinstein.
