FAINSILBER, Harry. It is with great sadness that the family announces Harry’s passing, peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Irreplaceable husband of Estelle. Loving, exemplary father of Toby, Libby, and David; and father-in-law of Alison. Devoted Zaidie of Maya, Joanna, Adar, and Yonah. Supportive brother of Lynn, and Bracha; and brother-in-law of Jeff. Loyal friend, well-respected teacher, great listener, musician, wood and glass worker, crossword maven, world traveler, life-long learner, and Canadiens fan. Harry would like to thank his friends for laughing at his jokes; his hope is that we will listen and be kind to each other. The family would like to thank doctors Steg, Kavan, Zogopoulos, Stein, and Romano; nurses Cathy of Mount Sinai, and Hafsa of CLSC Cavendish for their compassionate, expert care. Proud and adoring “Nono” of Daniel, Gabriel, Ariella, and Raphael; Jesse, David, Isis, and Jillian. Dear brother of Jeannette, and predeceased by his many brothers and sisters. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Yetta Deckelbaum

Deckelbaum, Yetta. Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, June 25, 2015, in Hollywood, FL. Beloved wife for 67 years of Morris Deckelbaum. Loving and devoted mother of Gordon (Deborah), Linda (Lawrence), Joan (Bob) and Carol (Stephen). Cherished Bubbie of grandchildren Bradley, Geoffrey (Brenda), Sara, Jessica (Dave), Gillian (Phil), Allie, Hannah, Rachel, Jamie, Andrea, and William; and great-grandchildren Abbey, Lauren and Kayla. She will also be missed by many family members including sister Ida, sisters-in-law Fay and Freda, and brother-in-law Joe. Special thanks to her caregivers Verona and Jeanette. Yetta’s greatest joy was bringing people together, which she did with ease and grace her entire life. She instilled in all of us the importance of family, a legacy that will endure forever. Treasured Grandma of Allison Schachter Zeltzer and Rob Zeltzer, Ryan Schachter; Ilana Green; Amanda Schachter and Richard Cohen, Kaylie Schachter, Adam Schachter; Marc and Morli Bissell, Joanna and Josh Diament; Brian Lindy, Steven and Annette Lindy. Proud great-grandmother of eleven. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Clarita and the late Levi Dascal, Renita and the late David Fischler. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, family and friends. IANCU, Miriam (née Wieder). On Friday, June 19, 2015, at the age of eighty-seven. Miriam was born on May 15, 1928 in Medias, Romania, and was a survivor of Auschwitz concentration camp. Wife of the late Velica (Willie) Iancu. Mother of the late Zipora Jellinek (née Grun), and mother-in-law of Ivan Jellinek. Survived by her two grandchildren, Dina Kraus and Alexander Jellinek. Miriam will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Graveside service on Wednesday, July 1 at 12 noon, at the Beit Abraham Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, 4189, boul. des Sources, D.D.O.

Ruth Simcoe (Simcovitch)

Loving father and father-in-law of Lori and Phil Tryansky, and Jodi Boretsky. Devoted and celebrated grandfather of Jeremy and Ryan Leitner, Jennifer Tryansky and Neil Faba, Jessica and Stewart Caron, Jayme and Phil Derkson, Jillian Tryansky and Jeremy Diamond. Proud and adored Great-Grandpa of Rylee and Benjamin Caron; Hazel Faba; and Samuel Derkson. Beloved uncle of Renee and John Zimmerman, Lazarus and Joy Slater and their families. Mama was a dedicated and integral part of our little family; she will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed.
