KLIGMAN, Sarah (nee Sandler). In her 91st year on Sunday, August 9, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Sam. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Allan and Golda, Harris and Edu, Gail and Leon Kozierok, and the late Paula. Proud and cherished “Bubs” of Eric and Jodi, Pharra and Brian, Andrea and Jordan, and Aaron. “Great Bubbie Yaya” of Samantha, Emily, and Everly. Daughter of the late Abram and the late Annie Sandler. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Ray and the late Sam, Lou and Joan, the late Joe and the late Hazel; and sister-in-law of the late Abe and the late Faye, the late Eve and the late Alec, the late Jack and the late Sadie. Sarah will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Sarah’s wonderful caregivers, Mulu, Dory and Gigi for their compassion and tender care, as well as Rena, Kathy and Tracey of the Jewish General Hospital Cardiovascular Prevention Centre for their tremendous help during her home palliative care, and CLSC Metro. Jacques (Jack) Saltiel
Saltiel, Jacques (Jack). Peacefully at home early Monday morning, August 10, 2015, in his 97th year. Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, grew up in the Great Depression, fought in the Greek Army in Albania in World War II, escaped the German Occupation with his beloved wife and life partner, Frida. They re-established themselves in Thessaloniki in 1945 and moved to Canada in 1958 for a better life, far from war. A pioneer in the retail ski business, he is survived by his three sons Henry, Albert and Nick; seven grandchildren, Karla, Melanie, Frida, Gabriela, Leah, Jacob and Benjamin; three great grandchildren, Lucas, Hannah and Kasey. Many thanks to Dr. Nathan Sheiner and his team at Jewish General Hospital for their medical attention over a period of 30 years, to everyone at Le Mirage Bridge Club whose company and society motivated his every day, the golfers and staff at Meadowbrook Golf Club who made him look forward to every summer morning and Esther, his caregiver, who never gave up.
