James Douglas Baillie
06/03/1945 - 14/12/2015

Doug passed away gently on Monday, December 14, surrounded by his family. He fought bravely through ALS, with all his strength and determination. Doug was a loving husband to his wife, Dianne Kilpatrick, an adoring father to Lauren Elizabeth (David) and James Alexander (Elizabeth), and a beloved brother to Patricia Graham. He was a cherished uncle and brother - in - law. Doug had a real generosity of spirit and he lived life to the fullest. He worked hard and played just as hard. His biggest love was his family, and he cherished and supported every idea, every project and every decision made. “Our Dad was, above all else, a man who appreciated the finer things in life. A nice Stilton, a glass of sherry, Stephen Segal movies, the works. His unwavering faith in our abilities made us feel confident to do whatever we wanted in life, something that we will always be grateful for. He was our father, friend and inspiration.” Doug’s many friends were treasured and valued, always. We appreciate the outpouring of love and support we have received. We couldn’t have done it without you. Many, many thanks go to the Montreal Neuro, the Home Care and Palliative Care groups of the CLSC La Pommeraie, the ICU team at the BMP Hospital, and La Maison au Diapason for the excellent care and amazing support. A celebration of Doug’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 30 at 11:00 am at St Paul’s Anglican Church in Knowlton. We welcome you afterwards to our home, the place Doug loved most. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the ALS Society of Quebec or to La Maison du Diapason would be appreciated. Semper ad Melior, with great love.
