CAPLAN, Lily (nee Gurevitch). Surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, March 23, 2012. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Moe Caplan for fifty-seven wonderful years. Loving and devoted mother and mother-in-law of Rosalie and Bill Greenberg, Dr. Aaron Caplan and Lisa Kates. Cherished and exceptional “Baubie Lily” of Marlene Greenberg and Dr. John Abrahamson, Melanie Greenberg Schwartz and Steven Schwartz, and Dan Caplan. Adored great-grandmother of Adam and Jonah Schwartz and Katlin and Meghan Abrahamson. Special step-grandmother of Katie, Olivia and Ethan Rosenberg. Devoted sister of Helen Wolfovitch and loving sister and sister-in-law of the late Esther (Gurevitch) and the late Phil Mendelsohn. Dear sister-in-law of the late Anne and the late Al Keller; the late Ettie, the late Lily, the late Pauline and the late Jack Caplan. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, family and many people whose lives she touched. Special thanks to her loving and devoted caregivers. She lived a long and fruitful life and has left a wonderful legacy. DICHTER, Sarah (née Liberman). With courage and dignity, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 25, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Aron. Loving daughter of the late Tauba and late Sam Liberman. Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Jeff and Sandy, Ellen and Jon Reider, Rhea Dichter and Bob Taylor. Cherished and adored Bubby of Shauna and Zak Dichter; Mikey, Stu and Jessie Reider; Samara, Ali, and Michelle Belitzky. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Esther and Marty Aronoff, and sister-in-law of the late Liza and the late Emile Alterescu. She will be fondly remembered by her many close friends and by her nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Richard Sheppherd, Dr. Caroline Michel, Emina and Esther of the Congestive Heart Function Clinic and the nursing staff of 2N of the Jewish General Hospital for their untiring care and compassion. FITER, Leib. Peacefully in his ninety-first year, on Shabbat Zachor. Beloved husband of the late Fajga Zylberlicht. Devoted father and father-in-law of Hannah and Nissim Krispin of Israel, Steven and Estie Fiter, Gary and the late Esther Woodrow, and the late David Fiter. Adoring Zaida of Amir and Anat, Karen and Eyal, Rinat and fiancée Jamie; Ryan, and Rachel; Cory and Alliza, Joanna and Jeff, Dara and Jeremy. Proud great-grandfather of eleven. Predeceased by his parents Chana and David who perished in the Holocaust, and by his siblings Chaim, Rivka, Tola, Feivel, and Raizel. He will be forever remembered by Rita and Szlomo Dajczman and by his nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special thanks to Mr. Julian Lewin for his care and kindness. Sister-in-law of the late Abe and the late Fafke Katz. Sally will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Loving sister and sister-in-law of Mary and the late Sam Cooper, the late Pvt. Harry Silver, the late Nettye and the late Bill Morgan, and sister-in-law of the late Ann and the late Moe Rabiner, the late Sadie and the late Harry Borovay, the late Bess and the late Marty Krell, the late Libby and Harry Slutsken, the late David and the late Esther Obrand, the late Irving and the late Gertie Obrand. COHEN, Louis (Lou). Suddenly, while on a cruise in the Bahamas, on Saturday, February 25, 2012, with his beloved wife and companion of sixty-eight years, Estelle (Lefkowitz) and extended family by his side. Loved father of Mark (Sheila Keenan), Karen (Keith McFarlane), Mindy (Steven Sheinfeld) and the late Sheila. Cherished grandpa of Alan (Monique), Jeffrey, Matthew, Lindsay, Nathan, Madison, Sydney, Liam and Erin. Brother of Goldye Fenster, the late Lil Turner and the late Bill. Lou lived his ninety-four years to their fullest, agile in both mind and body up until the end. He lived with commitment, compassion and integrity. He took tremendous pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren and in a life lived doing the right thing right. We will miss him.
