Ken French
05/03/1951 - 26/05/2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ken French surrounded by his family on May 26th. Kenny loved people - anyone willing to share five minutes with him was quickly drawn in by his dry wit, sense of humour and stories of days gone by. Many became instant confidantes and he built dozens of lasting friendships this way, one person at a time. Kenny preferred country air and country roads less travelled, beat up Dodge pick - up trucks with a dog or two by his side, and broken down motorcycles that needed constant attention. He was strong - as a craftsman, he was always tanned and calloused - but still gentle enough to hug and hold the children in his life who flocked to him. He was an old soul without pretension; his honesty, fairness, and good naturedness inspired respect and admiration in return. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Rosita; his daughter, Emily; his son, Scott (Kristin); his grandson, Charlie; his father, Don (Evelyn); his sister, Jan (Claude); and his many nieces, nephews, relatives, dear friends and his loyal dog, Boo. He will be reunited with his mother, Pat; and his sister, Cristy. Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects at the Désourdy Funeral Home, 318 Knowlton Rd., Knowlton, Qc., on Friday, June 12th from 7pm to 9pm and Saturday, June 13th from 2pm to 3:30 pm. A celebration of his life will follow on Saturday, June 13th at 4pm at the United Church, 234 Knowlton Rd., Knowlton, Qc. A private burial with family and close friends will follow the ceremony. Donations in his memory can be made to the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke (CHUS). www.fondationchus.org
