Kathryn Ann Pratt
26/07/1952 - 24/02/2015
It is with profound shock and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kathryn on Tuesday February 24th, at the Granby Hospital after a lengthy courageous battle. She will be greatly missed for her huge heart, her compassion and caring for others, as well as her fantastic baking and creative knitting. Kathryn touched the hearts of everyone she met with her strength, generosity, love and kindness. A bright light has been extinguished. Our hearts are broken. Youngest daughter of the late James (WW. II Vet) and late Una (a war bride) Pratt, she will be sorely missed by her two older sisters, Christina Humphreys and Linda Lee Parr. The Pratt “girls” will be missing a key member. Kathryn will be mourned not only by her immediate family, but also her extended family, her close neighbours and friends in Cowansville and Montreal, the CLSC (especially Brigitte) and CSSS La Pommeraie (Soutien à Domicile) especially Virginie, Carole, Daniel, Patrick and their many colleagues who helped her to return and to stay at home right to the end. Special thanks to the Bockus brothers and to Uniprix. A sincere and heartfelt thanks to the exceptional staff at the BMP Hospital; the CHUS (Fleurimont), especially Dr. Despatis and the staff on the 10th floor; Dr. Babin and the dialysis teams at both Granby and St - Jean - sur - Richelieu Hospitals. Their consistent, professional, compassionate and respectful medical care was much appreciated. Who could forget Carole Brais for always being there? A very special thank you to Dr William J. Barakett for his strong support, care, availibility and dedication over the years, as well as that of his colleagues at the Knowlton Medical Clinic. Kathryn could not have asked for more from any of you and many others too numerous to mention. Our hearts were touched by your care. Cremation took place on February 26 and her ashes will be placed at the Columbarium at William following the service.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 14th, 2015 from 11am to 1pm, followed by the chapel service at the Desourdy Funeral Home, 109 William St., Cowansville, QC J2K 1K3, Phone: 450 - 263 - 1212, Fax: 450 - 263 - 9557, info@desourdy.ca www.desourdy.ca In lieu of flowers, donations to the B.M.P.
