GLEN, Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Kirlin). Passed away on February 14, 2004 at Lions Gate Hospital surrounded by her family: husband Ian, son Ian (Sherry), and daughter Suzanne Cooper (Fraser). Betty will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Adrienne, Leslie, Garett, Rhys, and Lindsay, and all who knew her. Survived by sisters Margaret Kirlin (Ottawa) and Annette MacTier (Montreal), and sister-in-law Marjorie Kirlin (Ottawa). Predeceased by her son, Brian (1970) and brothers, Bernard and Ernest. Betty was born in Toronto, November 21, 1922, brought up in Montreal and also lived in Saint John, London, Halifax, West Vancouver, Sechelt, and North Vancouver. She was a happy person and enjoyed life and a good game of bridge. Remembered always and loved forever. Church service will be held at St. Pius X, 1150 Mt. Seymour Rd., North Vancouver, on Friday, February 20 at 10:30 a.m. Cremation and interment at Capilano View Cemetery, alongside her son, Brian, to be held at a later date.

JACKSON, Mary Ellen (nee McDaid). October 5, 1922 - February 16, 2004. Gently, in the loving presence of her daughters Maureen and Shirley, Mae concluded her valiant, silent battle on Valentine's night. Mae died in Toronto, was born in Letterkenny, Ireland, but lived, loved and laughed on the Lakeshore in Montreal. Mae was a member of the W.A.F. in England in World War II, then emigrated to Pointe Claire with her husband, Alan, at the war's conclusion. It was here that Mae flourished. She raised her family, she built her own small business, became a lifelong member of the Christian Women's Association and the Horticultural Society and found time to create her beautiful garden. Her life in Montreal was spent in deep friendship and with her beloved dogs. Survived by her daughters and two granddaughters Laura and Erica. Mae will be missed and cherished by these she touched... Donations in lieu of flowers to the S.P.C.A. I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so".

BAYLEY, Ethel Mary (nee Woolliscroft). At the Royal Victoria Hospital on Tuesday, May 11, 2004 of pneumonia at the age of ninety-four. Beloved wife of the late Charles Calvert Bayley. Dear mother of Ann Margaret and Susan Nancy Bayley. Also survived by her brother Arthur Woolliscroft, her niece Carol (Charles O'Rawe) and grand nephew Christopher O'Rawe. Funeral Service to be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at 2 p.m. at The Church of St.Andrew and St.Paul, 3415 Redpath St., Montreal. Interment in St. Mary's Church Cemetery. Astbury near Congleton, England. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Wray Walton and Wray Funeral Home.

FARRELL, Florence (Flo) (nee Morris). Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, at the age of sixty-six years, beloved wife of Philip of forty-eight years. Cherished mother of Judy (Victor) Bianco, Rick Farrell, Cindy (Gord) Wilson, devoted grandmother to Kristina, Michael and Lisa Bianco, Ryan, Amanda and Kelsey Wilson, cherished second mother (Lady) to Diane Poulin. Also survived by her siblings, Marie, Alice and Clayton and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Flo's loving care will be deeply missed by the Staff and Residents of Manoir Beaconsfield, where she worked for twenty years. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Doctors and Nurses of the Jewish General Hospital Oncology Clinic, especially Dr. Gerald Batist, Dr. David Melnychuk, nurses Maria Lewis and Chantal Cloutier, also the Supportive Care Team at the Jewish General Hospital.
