ZUCKERNICK, Roslyn (née Bloomenstine). On Wednesday, February 13, 2013. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Harry. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Barry and Lysa, and the late Maxine. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Trudy and Sam Shaffer, Doris and the late Joe Glickman, Katie and the late Frank Zuckernick, Dave and Hester Zuckernick. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special thanks to the staff of 5 South at St. Mary’s Hospital for their exceptional warmth and compassion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Friday, February 15, at 11:45 a.m. Burial at the Montefiore Protective Cemetery, de la Savane. Peacefully, at the age of ninety-two, on Thursday, February 14, 2013. Beloved husband of Rosalie Levowitz for sixty-three years. Devoted father and father-in-law of Dr. David Chad and Rita Chad of Southborough, Massachusetts, Dr. Ruth Chad and Dr. Mark Friedman of Newton, Massachusetts. Cherished ‘Grandpa’ of Rebecca Chad; Emma, Avi and Simone Chad-Friedman. Dear uncle of Eliot and Magdalena Hurwitz, and Alan Hurwitz. Heartfelt thanks to Nalita, Kumudu and Lonie for their care and devotion. Special thanks to Dr. Angelo Bourkas and the doctors, nurses and staff of 2A Pavilion at Maimonides Geriatric Centre. Samuel Paul

July 8, 1921 – February 13, 2013. Sam passed away peacefully after a long, healthy and happy life on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, in Nanaimo, BC. Predeceased by Lily, his loving wife of fifty-six years. Loving and much loved father and father-in-law of Sharon and Edward Fitch of Victoria, BC, Ruth and Larry Iwaskow of Nanaimo, BC, Morrie Paul and Shaina Lipsey of Ottawa. Cherished grandfather of Rena (Dan), Leora, Edward (Chiharu), Keana, Keila, and Gabriel. Proud great-grandfather of Teiva and Ben. Survived by his cherished partner and friend, Dora Gesser. Predeceased by his brothers, Ruby of Montreal and Herby of New York. Brother-in-law of Florence Paul of Montreal and Edith Paul of New York. Sam had been an active volunteer with the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association and Canadian Cancer Society. He was an avid swimmer and continued to enjoy his early morning laps even in his nineties. With his friendly outgoing manner, he established friendships and community in Montreal, Ashkelon (Israel), Victoria and Nanaimo (BC), and Palm Beach (Florida). Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., Montreal, on Sunday, February 17 at 1 p.m. Burial at the Farband Labour Zionist Association Cemetery, de la Savane, Montreal. Myron Reisler

On Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in Miami Beach, Florida. Adored husband of Mary Ann Consolo. Cherished brother of Ronnie, Vivian, and the late Allan. Dear brother-in-law of Jo Ann Consolo and Jay Lichtman, Joseph Consolo and Emiko Hongo, and Sandra Reisler. Beloved son of the late Leah and the late Jack Reisler. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Funeral service on Friday, February 15, at the Levitt-Weinstein Memorial Chapel in West Hollywood, Florida. Shiva will be held in Florida until Monday, and continue in Montreal from Tuesday through Thursday at 4851 Cote St. Luc Rd., #103. Proud “Bubbie Mary” of Warren, Russell, Donovan, Brittney, Jillian, Stephanie, Jacob, Andrew, Corey, Erin, Bradley, Sabrina, Ella, Presley, and Colbie. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Sadie and the late Eli Wohl, Millie and the late Philly Petinsky, Dr. Julius Frank (Evelyn), the late Dr. Harry and the late Robin Frank, the late Phil Frank, the late Gertie and the late Bill Rother.
