Gaudette Pryce, Evangeline

Passed away peacefully at the CHUS Hôtel Dieu, on Friday March 8th 2013 at the age of 82. Evangeline Gaudette, beloved wife of the late Robert Pryce Sr. and loving mother of Jane, Roger and the late Robert Jr.. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer Mooney, Isabelle Taylor, Julie Younglove, Charles Lacroix and Christopher Pryce, and great grandmother of 10 great grandchildren. Evangeline is also survived by her brothers and sisters; Cleo, Roger, Magella, Henrietta, Suzanne, Guy, Laure, and Lise, and was pre-deceased by Leonard and Gisele. Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 3006 College St., Sherbrooke (Lennoxville) on Wednesday March 13 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and on Thursday from 1 to 3 PM followed by the funeral service at 3 PM. Interment in the St-Jean-Baptiste Cemetery, Chartierville QC at a later date.

Gosney Phaneuf, Ardell

Passed away in the presence of her loving family at the CSSS Memphremagog on February 27, 2013 at the age of 78. Beloved wife of the late Albert Phaneuf and cherished mother of: Bill (Brenda), the late Russell (Lisa)), Brian (Monique) and Jennifer (Joel). Adoring grandmother of Jamie (Amanda), Ashlee (Kevin), Joshua (Vanessa), Jason, Tyler, Kate, Sean, Nathaniel and Chelsea;Ardell will also be sadly missed by her great-grandchildren Brianna, Sierra, Riley, Jacob, and Tyson. Sister of Freda and the late Connie. She also leaves to mourn her sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. There will be visitation in the presence of her ashes at the Cass Funeral Home, 545 Dufferin, Stanstead 819-876-5213 on Sunday, March 3, 2013, where friends may come to visit from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Also on Monday, March 4, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. followed by the service in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Lise Kuminska officiating. Interment will take place in Apple Grove cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Palliative Care Unit on the 3 floor of the CSSS Memphremagog would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Goudreau, Fernand

Passed away at the C.S.S.S. Memphremagog on Monday, February 18, 2013 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Marguerite Maclure and cherished father of: Paulette (Robert Hart), Diane (Michel Fortin), Yvon (Celine Gouin), Alain (Marie-Francine Laflamme), Julie (Jean-Pierre Gelinas); Loving grandfather of Ann (Jean-Marc), Mark (Karine) and Sarah. Fernand will also be sadly missed by his great-grandchildren Charles, Megann, Audrey and Sophie along with his brothers-in-law Paul Emile Maclure (Marthe) and Fernand Maclure (Annette), and Stan (the late Fernande), many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. There will be visitation at the Cass Funeral Home on Friday February 22, 2013 where friends may come to visit from 7:00 to 9:00 p m and also on Saturday, February 23, 2013 from 9:30 to 10:50 a m. followed by the funeral service in the Sacred Heart church in Stanstead at 11:00 a.m.. The family wishes to thank the staff of Hebergement 2 on the fourth floor for the wonderful care given to Fernand.As a tribute to his memory, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 3330 rue King West, Sherbrooke, QC. Goodsell Richer, Rita

Passed away after a lengthy illness at the CHUS Fleurimont on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at the age of 73. Cherished wife of Thomas and loving daughter of the late James Goodsell and the late Yvonne Michaud, Adoring mother of: Bryan (Darlene), Johanne (Jay) and Lisa (Mark); Precious grandmother of Justin (Karine), Patrick (Nakita), Nicholas (Natasha), Joshua (Vanessa), and Alison. Rita will also be sadly missed by her two great-grandchildren Abygail and William along with her brother Raymond Goodsell (Alice), brother-in-law Paul Lacroix (the late Pauline), her sister-in-law Betty Poutre (the late Real), many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relative and numerous friends. Resting at the Cass funeral Home, 545 Dufferin, Stanstead where friends may come to visit on Friday, January 18, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., also on Saturday, January 19, from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m., followed by the funeral service in Sacred Heart Church at 2:00 p.m.. Gagnon Campbelton, Ruth Alma

Passed away peacefully at the Wales Home, Richmond QC, on Sunday January 6th 2013, at the age of 95. Loving wife of 63 years to Eddy Campbelton and dear sister-in-law of Carol (Gilles Lambert) of Asbestos. Ruth also leaves to mourn many other nieces, nephews, realtives and dear friends. At Ruth’s request, cremation was held, to be followed by a graveside service at St-Andrews Cemetery in the spring. Donations to St-Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 1169 Rte 243, Melbourne, QC J0B 2B0 would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Cass Funeral Homes, Richmond.

George Hadlock, Irene

North Hatley - Irene Winifred Hadlock passed away peacefully at the Connaught Home on Saturday, November 3, 2012. Born September 27, 1913 in Inverness, QC, she was the daughter of Charles and Mable George. She had a career as a school teacher until her marriage to Douglas W.T. Hadlock on August 10, 1940 in Milby, QC. They moved to Lennoxville where she resided until her illness made it necessary to move to the Connaught Home for the last several years. She was a long standing and very active member of the Lennoxville United Church. Irene also was Chairperson of the Lennoxville Golden Agers for several years and a member of the Rebekah Lodge. Irene took great pride in her family, her extended family and in being a part of her church and community throughout her many years. Many thanks to the staff of the Connaught Home who gave her much care and love during her last years. They are special people. She was predeceased by her husband Doug, her sisters Gwen and Kathleen George and Grace Blue, her brothers Edwin, John and Lloyd George and grandson Andrew Cutts. Survivors include her son David (Cheryl) Hadlock from Ormstown, QC, her daughter Sherrie Ann (Murray) Cutts from Queensbury, NY, three grandsons, Darren Hadlock, Shane Hadlock (Marie Pierre), Christopher Hadlock, granddaughters Christine Cutts DelSignore (Peter), Tracey Cutts Moulton (Kevin) and three great grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother Allan George of Picton, ON and many nieces and nephews. There will not be any calling hours. A memorial service will be held at Lennoxville United Church, 6 Church St., Lennoxville on Saturday, November 10 at 2 pm with the Rev Jim Potter officiating. Donations may be made in Irene’s memory to the Lennoxville United Church, 6 Church St., Sherbrooke, QC,Jones J1M 1S9 or to the Connaught Home, Box 629, North Hatley, QC. J0B 2C0.

Jones, Maxwell

Jones (The Reverend) Maxwell C.M. 1912-2009 Peacefully at the Grace Christian Home(Huntingville) Sherbrooke, QC on Monday, July 27, 2009 in his 98th year. Beloved husband of the late Bessie (Rowsell) and by his second marriage the late Sylvia (Wormsley - McComb). Dear father of Martin (Greta) and cherished grandfather of Terry (Josée), Karen Carson (Philip Desilets) and several great grandchildren. Resting at the St.George's Anglican Church Lennoxville, QC on Thursday July 30, 2009 from 1 to 2:30 pm followed by the funeral service at 2:30 pm. Rev Keith Dickerson officiating. Interment in the Elmwood Cemetery Perth Ontario at a later date. Many thanks to all the staff at the Grace Christian Home. James, Albert

Suddenly at the CHUS Fleurimont, Sherbrooke QC., on Tuesday June 23, 2009 at the age of 80 years. Albert James, beloved son of Beatrice Cassidy and Art James, and husband of the late Laurel Westman. Dear father of Richard (Uta) King City, On., Allan (Margaret Clark) Bishopton, QC., Katherine (Reg Decoteau) Grand Valley On., Marie, Cindy (Malcolm Bennett) Bishopton, QC., and predeceased by his sons Ronald and Andrew. Albert is the cherished grandfather of Ron Jr., Kenneth and Penny James, Peggy Haliday, Robert and Steven James, Jody, Travis and Jeremy James, Christina, Kyla and Gerry Decoteau and Joey Bennett. He was the great grandfather of 10. He is survived by his brother Arthur (Olga), his daughter in law Nancy James and his sister in law Norma Westman. Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 554 Principale St. Bury, QC J0B 1J0 819-564-1750 where friends may call on Friday June 26, 2009 from 1 to 3 pm followed by the funeral service at 3 pm Rev Barbara Willard officiating. Joyce, Gordon

February 24, 1913—May 14, 2009 Gordon was born on the family farm in Brookbury, son of Curtis Joyce and Effie May Cook. He attended schools in Brookbury, East Dudswell and Bishop’s Crossing before graduating from Macdonald College with a teaching diploma. He worked as a game warden for the Compton Fish and Game Club in North River. In 1935 he found employment at the S. N. Bishop Casket Company where he worked for 41 years, rising from fabric gluer to factory manager. He served his community in the municipal council and on the school board. Always a strong supporter of the United Church, he served as an elder and as a steward. For 20 years Gordon owned and maintained the municipal waterworks. Gordon was predeceased by his wife Frances England, brother Lester and sister Florence (Sam Shirley). He is survived by daughters Myrna (Edward Rowsell) and Barbara (Kenneth Goslett) and granddaughters Susan Rowsell, Norene (Scott Robinson), Beth and Kate Goslett. He is great grandfather to Everett and Arden Robinson. A celebration of Dad’s life will be held May 24th at 2 p.m. in the Lennoxville United Church, 6 Church St. Sherbrooke (Lennoxville), QC. Rev Barbara Willard officiating. Arrangements entrusted to the Cass Funeral, 3006 College St. Sherbrooke (Lennoxbville), 819-564-1750

Johnston, Shirley (nee Pike)

Died on February 8th, 2009 at the CHSLD Foyer Richmond at the age of 84. Predeceased by her husband George Johnston. Shirley is survived by her children William, Melvin and Pauline and is predeceased by her daughter Margaret. Dear grandmother of Marie, Brenda, Tanya, David and Andrea. Daughter of the late Lisle Pike and the late Eleanor Griffith. Shirley is pre-deceased by her sister Noreen (late Wilbur Wiggins), and brothers Elton (late Miriam), Lorne (late Patricia) and Ralph (Sylvia). Left to mourn are her brothers-in-law Robert Johnston (late Rheta) and Ivan Johnston (Fran and the late Gwen). Also pre-deceased by her sister-in-law Ruth (late Gerald French) and brother-in-law Ernest (late Irma). At Shirley’s request, cremation was held, to be followed by a graveside service in the Melbourne Ridge Cemetery at a later date. Grey George, Eileen

Eileen GEORGE (née Grey) 1926-2015 Peacefully at the Connaught Home, on March 18 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late John George. Dear mother of Caroline, David (Barb), Maggie and Rick (Kathy). Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 3006 College St. in Lennoxville, where friends may call on Thursday, March 26 from 2 to 4 pm. Private interment at Milby Cemetery later in the spring. The family would like to thank Sandy Klinck and the staff for the wonderful care and compassion that Eileen received during her many years at the Connaught Home. Gibson Paterson, Muriel

Muriel Paterson (nee Gibson) Passed away peacefully at the Grace Christian Home, on March 17, 2015 at the age of 100 years. Predeceased by her husband Douglas Paterson. She is survived by her son David Clark and his wife Mary her grandson Steve Clark (Iris) and also by her great grandchildren Edwin, Desmond and Andrea. As per her request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Burial of ashes at the Knowlton Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank the Grace Christian Home for the wonderful care given to Muriel. Donations in Muriel's memory may be made to the Dr. W. J. Gemmell, Ashley

Passed away suddenly after a lengthy illness at the Coaticook Hospital on Thursday February 26, 2015, at the age of 86. Beloved husband of the late Florence Bean and dear companion of the late Marjorie Dobb. Loving father of Murray (Maxine) and Robert. Cherished brother of Thelma (Homer Cote). Adoring grandfather of Jessica. Ashley will also be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, and friends. There will be visitation at the Cass Funeral Home at 900 Clough Ayer’s Cliff, on Monday, March 2nd 2015 from 1:00 p m until 2:00 pm followed by a celebration of his life in the funeral home.
