Ross Smith, Gloria

After a long battle with diabetes and heart disease, Gloria was finally laid to rest, on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the age of 61. She leaves to mourn Geoffrey, her husband of 45 years, daughters Lisa (Ken), Cindy (Martin) and Judy (Grant), grandchildren Ashley (Matt) and Tyler, step-grandchild Sabrina, many other relatives and friends and her three cats. Predeceased by her parents Bernice Walker and Ernie Ross. A funeral service and burial will be held at St. James Church, Compton, QC on Monday, June 6, 2011 at 11 am. The Rev Ruth Charleau officiating. Donations in Gloria's memory may be made to the charity of your choice.

Taylor Evans, Frances

EVANS, Frances (nee Taylor), suddenly on September 17, at her Georgeville home. She had 95 years of active life, most of it in Georgeville where she had been the United and Anglican Church organist, the former for over seven decades. Beloved wife of the late Norman Evans, loving mother of Robert (Edna), Art (Jean), Norma (John Knight), Ruth (Peter MacFarlane), and Eric. She will be greatly missed by her 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Frances was raised in Austin Quebec. She is survived by her sister Olive Burbank and predeceased by sisters Erma Hagen and Marion Byham, and brothers John and Keith. Following her wishes, there will be no immediate funeral service. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 on Sunday, October 7, 2007, at the Georgeville United Church, followed by a gathering at the Community Hall. She loved flowers, but said "not after I am gone." Friends may remember her by donations to the Georgeville United Church or a charity of their choice.

Pinchin, William

At the C.H.U.S. Fleurimont Hospital, on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at the age of 98 years. William "George" Pinchin, beloved husband of the late Marjory Eva Merrill of Bulwer, QC. Loving father of Douglas, Lennoxville, QC, Dorothy, Ottawa, ON and Ronald of Bulwer, QC. Cherished grandfather of Marjorie (Danny MacEachern), Melissa and Julie (Chris Driscoll) and great-grandfather of Silver, Samara and Stryker. Cherished brother of Dolly Worden of Darwen, Lancs, England. Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 15 Station St. Sawyerville, QC where friends may visit on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 from 7 to 9 pm. Visitation will also be held at the Cookshire United Church on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 from 1 to 2 pm followed by the funeral service at 2 pm. Rev. Wendy Evans officiating. Interment in the Eaton Cemetery at a later date. Poudrier Rivard, Ella Plantine

Passed away at the C.S.S.S. Memphremagog on Tuesday, February 14, 2011, at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late George Lyonnais and the late Roland Rivard. Cherished mother of :Roger (Carmen Dubé), Armand (Jeannine Poulin), Ronald (Mabel Alex), and Donald; loving grandmother of : Matthew Lyonnais, Roger Junior, Paul and Shawn Lyonnais; Ella will also be sadly missed by her great-granddaughter Melinda-Ann along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 545 Dufferin, Stanstead 819-876-5213 on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, where friends may visit from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.. A service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Alfred Thibault officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.

Thompson, Leonard

Suddenly at the CHUS Fleurimont Hospital, Sherbrooke, QC, on Saturday, May 12th 2007, at the age of 73. Leonard Robert Thompson, beloved husband of the late Mary Isabel MacDonald, dearly loved father of Jo-Ann, Donna, Richard (Carole), Mark (Krys), Cynthia and Donald (Penny). Bud was the cherished grandfather of 17 and great-grandfather of 5. Suddenly at the Hôtel-Dieu hospital, Sherbrooke, on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the age of 68. George is survived by his loving companion Frances Garfat and his children Debbie, Ronnie, Mary and Tammy. George is also survived by his sister Jean (Stewart Hartley) and was predeceased by his brothers Willard (Irene Morrison), David and also by his sister Doreen. George also leaves to mourn his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his aunts Eileen Drew and Ina Young. In respect of George's wishes, cremation was held. There will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will be at a later date.

Young Daigneault, Hilda Mae

Passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospital, London Ontario, on Sunday May 29th, 2011, in her 87th year. Cherished mother of Betty (Arlie), Sherbrooke QC, Sidney (Margaret), London ON, Blanche (Bernard), Sherbrooke QC and Gloria (Al), London ON. Also loved by her seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, her brother Mervin (Shirley), her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at the Cass Funeral Home, 3006 College St., Sherbrooke (Lennoxville) where friends may visit on Friday June 3rd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, and on Saturday from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday June 4th at 3:30 pm with Melvyn Byrant officiating. Interment in Reedsville Cemetery, North Hatley, QC. Donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Passed away peacefully after a short and courageous struggle at the Magog Hospital on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at the age of 77. Loving wife of Allan for nearly 56 years, and cherished mother of : Cindy, Debbie (Denis Blouin) and Lisa (Marc Stratton); adoring grandmother of Sara and Hanna. Betty will also be sadly missed by many close family members and friends. There will be visitation in Christ Church in Stanstead on Friday, February 24, 2012, where friends may from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and also on Saturday, February 25 from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m. followed by the service. As a tribute to her memory, donations made to the Christ Church, c/o Thelma Middleton, 13 Stanley, Stanstead, QC. J0B 3E0 would be greatly acknowledged by the family, who wishes to express their most sincere appreciation to the staff on the 6th floor of the C. In his 78th year, Thomas passed away at La Maison Aube Lumière on Sunday, March 3rd, 2013. Beloved husband of Joyce and loving father to Alan (Margaret), Danny (Shelley), Bruce (Lori) and Bryan (Jill). Special Grandpa to Jonathon (Erin), Mitchell (Caroline), Christopher, Meghan, Sarah and Andrew. Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 3006 College St., Sherbrooke where friends may visit on Friday, March 8th from 6:30-8:00 PM and on Saturday, March 9th from 1:00-1:45 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Loving grandfather of 14 and great-grandfather of 7.Russell was predeceased by his brothers and sister: Evans, Karl, Adelaide, Lloyd and Douglas. Passed away tragically while attending a party with family and friends on Saturday, August 18, 2012, at the age of 80. Cherished husband for 60 years of Gisele Waite and loving father of Jeffrey (Karen) and Francine (Stephen). Precious grandfather of 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Harold will also be sadly missed by his sister Irene as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Son of the late Louis and Eliza. He is predeceased by 3 brothers, and 1 sister. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Friday July 20th 2012, Pauline Lacroix at the age of 74. Loving wife of 53 years to Léopold Lacroix and dear mother of Christiane, Marc, and Guy (Michèle). Cherished grandmother of Patricia, Samantha, Christopher, Philip, and Catherine. Pauline also leaves to mourn, her brother Raymond Goodsell (Alice) and her sister Rita (Thomas Richer), her brothers-in-law Gérard Lacroix (Béatrice) and Roger Lacroix (Delia) and her sisters-in-law Jeannine and Yolande Lacroix along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 545 Dufferin, Stanstead, QC where friends may visit on Thursday July 26th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and on Friday from 10 to 10:45 AM. Suddenly at his home, on March 28, 2012, at the age of 64. Reginald Gregory dear son of the late Earl Gregory and the late Jeanne Péloquin of Windsor. Gregory is surived by his brother Michael and his sisters Carolle (John Coles), Linda (Luc Ouellette) and Marlene and also by his nieces and nephews Steven, Carolyn and Christopher Woolgar and Caroline and Nicholas Bourget and also by other relatives and many friends. Resting at the Residence Windsor Funeral Home, 310 St-George St, Windsor, QC on Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 2 to 4 pm. In reseptect of Reginald's wishes there will be no funeral servicce. Gobeil Daviau, Madeleine

Passed away peacefully at the C.S.S.S. Memphremagog on Friday, February 24, 2012, at the age of 91. Cherished wife of Denis Daviau and loving mother of: Carole (Simon), Monique (Paul), Gisèle (Daniel), and Louise; Madeleine will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Darlene (the late Viateur) her brother Raymond (Rita), and sister Lorraine (the late Roger), along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A memorial service will be held in the Sacred Heart church on May 26, 2012. The family wishes to express their most sincere thanks to the staff of the long term care unit of the C.S.S.S. Memphremagog for the wonderful care given to their wife, mother and grandmother. As a tribute to her memory, donations made to C.A.B. Rediker, 112 Principale, Stanstead, QC. Gunter, James Clifford

Cliff died peacefully at the Résidence Ferland in Danville, on Saturday February 4th, 2012 at the age of 81, following a lengthy battle against colon cancer. Beloved husband of Dorothy Patrick (Wales Home, Richmond) and loving father of Cindy (André Boudreau) and grampie to Jesse, Raquel and Luke. Cliff was pre-deceased by his son Jay (March 26, 1988), his brothers Garry and Douglas, and his sisters Virginia and Ora. He is survived by his sister Judy (Francis Saffin), his brother-in-law Lenny Knowles, his sisters-in-law Gail Robertson and Iris Semple along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Cliff's cremated remains will be interred in St-Anne's Cemetery, Richmond, at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Erica and Antoinette. Without your help, Cliff could never have stayed at his home as long as he did. In his memory, Cliff's wish was to have donations made to the Danville Curling Club, c/o Albert Gillam, 1449 Rte 116, Danville, QC J0A 1A0 No more suffering Dad, but I will sure miss you. Kaiser Thompson, Leslie

Was carried to heaven in the arms of an angel from the Grace Christian Home, Lennoxville, on Monday, March 20, 2006, in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Reverend Ernest D. Thompson.

Cherished mother of Alan (Elizabeth) of Salisbury Massachusetts. Leslie will also be sadly missed by other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service will be held in Christ Church Stanstead on April 8, 2006.
