Smith, Edna Hazel (nee Nutbrown)

Edna passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 at North Country Hospital, Newport, VT, with family and friends close by her side. She was born in Leeds Village, QC on November 22, 1923. She married Ernest Smith on July 3, 1943. No one had a greater love of life than mom… she loved her home, her family and her friends. She had the most amazing support group and circle of friends that hand carried her with love and encouragement. Her favourite hobby was dancing, and she dances whenever her legs allowed. When she was not dancing, she was making pickles and jams… all grown in her garden, or picked be herself and her friends. She was a pioneer living alone in an old farm house in Richmond, QC and promising her worried children that she would soon move to town. Edna is predeceased by her husband Ernest, her brother Alton and her sister Freda Raymond. She is survived by her 3 daughters; Judy (Donnie Johnston), Betty (Tom Horgan) and Alma (Stephen Marsh). She has 6 grandchildren; Cindy (Gary), Scott (Kelly), Barbie, Sherry (Ron), Shelly (Jim) and Laurie, several great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
