Passed away peacefully in Montreal on October 7th, 2004 at the age of 81. Leaves to mourn her husband Wellington Bowman, 12 children, Griffith, Hurton, Malcolm, Melrose, Melgatha, Emmanuel, Azilpha, Ernestine, Zetilla, Musette, Pearl and Jasmine, also her 35 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, loving sister Mrs. Carmen John and many nieces and nephews both in Canada, United States and St. Vincent. She will be sadly missed by all. Visitation at the Kane & Fetterly Funeral Home, 5301 Decarie Blvd., (corner Isabella) on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service at Church of Christ of Greater Montreal, 598 5th Avenue, Lachine on Tuesday, October 12th at 11:00 a.m. Burial at Les Jardins Urgel Bourgie.
HENDERSON, Douglas Alexander
C'est avec beaucoup de chagrin que la famille annonce le décès de Doug à la suite d'un pontage coronarien le 10 octobre à l'Hôpital Général de Montréal à l'âge de 72 ans. Doug laisse dans le deuil son épouse Joyce; ses enfants Blair, Glenn, Chris, Kim, Jeff, Joy et Scott; ses petits-enfants Lisa, Sara, Samuel, Anthony, Colin, Emily, Madelaine, Lauren, Jillian, et Raven; ses brues Aleksandra, Robin et Patricia; ses gendres Brendan et Darren. La famille invite tous les nombreux amis et collègues de Doug pour les visites au salon funéraire Kane & Fetterly, 5301 boul. Brocklehurst Jean Mary
At the Institut Universitaire de Geriatrie de Montreal, passed away peacefully on October 19th, 2004 at the age of 92. Beloved daughter of the late John Francis Brocklehurst and Ida Mary Skinner. Sister of the late Fred, Grace-Marie and George. Survived by her brother Charles of Montreal, niece Katherin, nephew Wayne, Gordon, sister-in-law Gladys, all of Toronto, Ontario and Patty-Ann of Montreal. A special thank you to the staff and nurses of 4th Floor East of the geriatric institute and also to Miss Joan O'Donnell for her wonderful care of Jean. Gladys M. Flood, on October 9, 2004, in RI, formerly of Montreal, in her 89th year, peacefully surrounded by all of her grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of the late Emmett J. Flood, dear mother of Catherine Flood, Patricia Murphy, Maureen Grigelevich, wonderful mother-in-law to William T. Murphy and William H. Grigelevich, loving grandmother to Bill (Melissa), Jim (Laura), Chris, Seana (Roberto) and Michaela. Sister of the late Joseph Cotton, Betty Osbourne, Gertrude Fecteau, Jean Shelley and Doreen Desrosiers. She is also survived by her sister, Inez Shelley Auld, and brother, Ben Cotton, sisters-in-law, Margaret Cotton and Claire Flood, and many nieces and nephews. BURMAN Clare (nee Walsh)
Passed away quietly on Monday, November 22, 2004 in Montreal at the age of eighty-nine. Beloved wife of the late George Burman. Loving mother of Mark (predeceased), Terry (Micheline), Peter (Linda), Patrick (Teresa), Tony, and Richard (Belva). Cherished grandmother of Trevor, Alana, Jennifer, Rachel, Jeremy, Jacquie, Elizabeth, and Annalisa. Fondly remembered by her sister Mary Ryan. Predeceased by her brother John Walsh and her sister Margaret Roy. Held in high esteem by nieces, nephews, and six great-grandchildren. A special thanks to Riverpark Place (Ottawa) and the West Island Manor (Montreal) for their devoted care. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 25 at the Lady Chapel of St. Patrick's Basilica (454 René-Levesque West) at 10:00 am, followed by Mass at 11:00am. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory to a Christmas charity of your choice would be appreciated. This wonderful, warm-hearted lady will be greatly missed and always loved.
MEHIGAN nee McCarthy, Mary Louise
Peacefully at Griffith McConnell Seniors Residence, on December 3rd, 2004. Pre-deceased by her husband Patrick Mehigan of Glasgow, Scotland. Born in 1910 in Cambridge, Mass., Louise came to Canada at an early age. During the war, she worked for the Government as a cipher clerk. After the war, she worked over 25 years for "Wabasso" as secretery to the vice president. Upon her retirement, she spent many happy years painting, travelling and visiting relatives and friends. Louise was pre-deceased by three brothers; George of Boston, Mass., Leonard and Alphonsus and sister Rita of Saint John, NB. She is survived by her sister Margaret Dean of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and many nieces and nephews. Visitation at Kane & Fetterly Funeral Home, 5301 Decarie Blvd. (corner Isabella), on Monday, December 6, 2004 from 7 tp 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Malachy's Church (corner of Clanranald and Isabella) on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at 10 am. After a lengthy illness borne with faith and courage at the Royal Victoria Hospital on November 28th, 2004. Beloved husband of Irene Rowley. Devoted father of Thomas, Sylvia (Louis Robayo), Margaret (Michael Glynn) and the late Peter (Joëlle Desparmet). Dear grandfather of Sarah (Chris Kennedy), Kate, Daniel, Joseph, Christopher and the late Alexandra. Brother of John and the late Rita. Uncle of Anne (John Howe). Will be rememberd by his great-nieces and great-nephews.Arthur was born on a farm in Hastings County, Ontario. He attended Queen’s Medical School from which he graduated in 1947. He began his medical career as a general practitioner in Sarnia, Ontario, where he met his future wife, Irene. In 1953 he began his specialty training in anaesthesia at McGill University. He practiced with utmost devotion to his patients at the Montreal Children’s and the Royal Victoria Hospital. He was also for a time head of the department of anaesthesia at the Shriner’s Hospital. He was a pioneer in cardiac anaesthesia in the 1950’s in Montreal. Another of his passions was his lake home in the Laurentians with his family.
Funeral Mass at Parish of Annunciation Church (corner Laird and Alexander) on Wednesday, December 1st at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive condolences at the church half an hour prior to the Mass.
