SCHRIER, Irving (Hymie). Peacefully on Sunday, July 7, 2013. Beloved husband and best friend of Sheila and the late Mona. Loving and devoted stepfather of Howard Zinman, Joanna and Jeremy Michaels. Father and father-in-law of Jodi and Stacey, Danny, Jay and Nathalie, Heidi and Denis. Cherished Grandpa of Zara, and Karter; and Zaida of Melanie, Alyson, Joshua, Meagan, Yannick, Melissa, Justin, Gregory, and Abigail. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Abe and the late Clara, Joan and the late Sam, the late Morty and the late Joyce; and brother-in-law of Rhoda Zaracoff, Jerry and Miriam Diner. Irving will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, family and all those whose lives he touched. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Nancy and Jerry Leithman, and the late Robin Kavanat. Son of the late Amelia and the late Ben Kavanat. Cherished uncle of Jason Leithman and Salina Arkin, Gillian Leithman, Jamie Leithman and Tara O’Reilly, Alexis Placzek and Andrea Wolinetz, and Brett Placzek; and great-uncle of Jordan, and Noah Leithman; and Liam Leithman. Loving uncle, machatunim and friend. He will always be remembered for his irrepressible sense of humour, his intellect and his quest for knowledge. Cherished Bubby of Aviva and Jordan, Yehudi, Amanda, Vanessa, Philip, Eric, and Joshua. Predeceased by her brother and sisters who perished in the Holocaust. Dora will be sadly missed by her life-long best friend and sister-in-law Guta Fleising, her cousin Fanny Hochbaum, and her many nieces and nephews whose lives she touched.
