CAMPBELL, Sylvia (née Gitnick). Peacefully, at home, on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the age of ninety-one. Beloved wife of the late Lionel. Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Irene and Mark Lazarovitz, Eric and Mary Ellen Montague. Proud and cherished Grandmaman of Jordan, Laine, and Gabrielle. Great-grandmother of Micah, and Noah. Predeceased by her parents William and Pearl Gitnick; and by her siblings Teddy, and Manny. The family would like to thank her exceptional caregivers, with special thanks to Maureen, and Jovita for their compassion and dedication. Funeral service from Paperman and Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, December 15 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Bassarabier Hebrew Cemetery, de la Savane. Cherished Zaidy of Paige Stermer and Stuart Becker, Marissa Stermer; Anthony, and Daniel Davis; Carly, Jessica, Jenna and Aiden Brender. Loving Big-Zaidy of Evan Lee Becker. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Bella-Jean and Michael Tilner, and the late Hymie Brender. Proud great-grandfather of Brandon, Sami, Luke, Lilly, and Haley. Predeceased by his dear siblings, Maurice and Min Katz, Maytie and Sam Workman. He will be greatly missed by Stuart and J.J. Adoring Bubby of Debbie and Stewart Kahan, Lorne and Vered Cherry; Sheri and David Ditkofsky, Darren and Elinor Dubrovsky, Gary Dubrovsky; Sabrina Ostrov and Logan Levy; Brandon Berish, Derek Berish and Bianca Di pierro. Fond former mother-in-law of Marla Ciubotaru. A candid woman of valour and truth, she will be remembered by her centenarian Aunt Sarah Frankel, nieces, nephews, cousins, grand- and great-grand-nieces and nephews, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
